Quint in Quint's Bomb RushQuint in Quint's Revenge

Quint (クイント Kuinto) is Mega Man from a peaceful future that was modified by Dr. Wily to fight against Mega Man in the present in Mega Man II. His main weapon is Sakugarne, a digging robot that looks like a combination of a pogo-stick and jackhammer.

Although Quint serves the same role as the Mega Man Killers (Enker, Punk, and Ballade) in the Game Boy games, and the four appear in the same stage in Mega Man V, Quint is not part of the Mega Man Killers.

Tired of being defeated, Dr. Wily stole an experimental time traveling machine to travel into the future and capture Mega Man. The future was peaceful as Wily had reformed and Mega Man, no longer needing weapons, had been remodeled back into a household robot. Recognizing this chance, Wily manages to convince his future self to abduct the now defenseless Mega Man. The future Mega Man was then reprogrammed and modified into the fighting robot Quint. With Mega Man himself on his side, Wily believed that he could not be defeated.

Quint's Bomb Rush

Quint was made the star character in the flash game Quint's Bomb Rush, and was given upgraded abilities to help him survive the Robot Master onslaught, which are the following:

  • Control over Sakugarne:

Holding up or down on the keypad will change the jump height of Sakugarne, allowing for greater control over your movements.

  • Booster Dash

An offensive and defensive move, the Booster Dash is used to fend off Robot Masters, and cross greater distances. The Booster Dash is the key to a high score in the game.

Quint's Revenge

Following his defeat in Mega Man II, Quint is chucked aside by Dr Wily, who calls him a "useless piece of junk". Wily imprisons Quint inside one of his Fortresses not in use, and during this time, Quint is able to break free of Wily's command protocols. With the removal of these protocols, Quint's latent abilities as the Future Mega Man reactivate, which it turns out, had been deactivated as a safety measure by Dr Light, who had knowledge of Mega Man's capture, and prepared for that eventuality, knowing full well that history couldn't be changed. With his abilities restored, Quint proves himself to be a much more capable than initially letting on. He seeks out Wily's reconstructed Army, and takes them down, before tracking down Wily in his latest Fortress.

In order to differentiate Quint from his past self in the Sprites INC games, Quint has the following abilities:

  • Quint Buster:

While unable to charge up, Quint's Buster is able to pierce some minor enemies should they be in contact with each other. By completing the game, a charge shot is unlockable and optional.

  • Sonic Dash:

Whilst the dash button is held, Quint moves at incredible speed.

  • Dash Jump:

A hyperspeed jump - used for clearing larger gaps and even enemies.

  • Ledge Jump:

Quint is able to jump after walking off a ledge.

  • The ability to duck:

Quint's hitbox is reduced significantly when ducking.

  • Magnetic Gloves:

Quint stays attached to ladders even when hit by an enemy.

  • Energy Balancer

Quint has a inbuilt Energy Balancer, allowing him to auto-refill the lowest filled special weapon when he picks up weapon energy.

By finding Sakugarne icons in levels, Quint is able to summon it as a mode of transport, allowing him to bypass spike laden floors and damage enemies he comes into contact with.

Quint's Revenge 2 - War of the Gems

Upon returning to the future, Dr Light has upgraded Quint further in an attempt to best the Gem Enhanced Masters.

  • Quint Buster:

Now has the ability to charge up shots.

  • Slide

Quint can now slide into small spaces, by pressing Down + Jump.

  • Sakugarne

Sakugarne's teleport system has been corrected, and Quint is able to summon it anywhere. It has the same abilities as the previous incarnation from the first game.
