ENOUGH FROM THE CLOWN!

The only problem is the face. The 'dirt' spots should be less... blatant.

Original antagonist character, "Vain". Your traditional psychopath character, except not very insightful. More Starscream than Joker.

Well, the style and character a definitely... different...

I like the shading and stance.

That looks hardcore. Except the scythe, it looks like garbage. But I really love the design and shading.

Very nice work indeed. I do think that the black, red-outlined parts look a bit off though. It sort of works for the scythe, but the horn things just look unfinished/out of place. Some AA between the red and black parts might help remove that impression.

People do seem to be pretty divided about the look of the scythe, so I tried shading it:

Also added a couple of shades to certain places, nothing drastic.

I dunno. I wanted to try something different with the scythe and "horns" by going with the purposely simplistic flat, neon-ish look. Might keep the horns that way, but it's probably for the best that the scythe have some actual shading to it.

That's better. It looked like it wasn't affected by like... reality or something. It works better with the horns since they're smaller.

Perhaps you could simply add a single colour worth of AA.That way you'd have a smoother transition while still keeping the unshaded neon effect.

Terry's suggestion would definitely make the red stand out still while also being smoother. Because at the moment the red is a little sharp in comparison to the rest of his shading.

Also, the scythe is definitely an improvement.

Now aside from the horns, his left leg needs at least one shade (like Terry had mentioned for the horns) on the very outer edge of the red stripes. It'll still look like bright neon, but it will also add depth and show dimension.

All you have to do is add a darker pixel's worth along that outline.

How silly you are Tuna. It's a mugshot. looks like it would fit the apperance of a classic MM Stage select screen.

It was going to be a mugshot, but I was convinced to make an entire sprite for it.

Oh, and it's supposed to be Kefka. My attempt at a re-design of that character, but Kefka nonetheless...

Overworld tiles. Like in old-school RPGs or something. I dunno. Just practice to get me in the mood for spriting again.

I couldn't think of an adequate way to combine the words "Left 4 Dead" and "Final Fantasy".
