Obviously, the best way to save the site at the moment is probably to find things that we can cut that will make it cost less to keep it up. Activity could probably be dealt with after that.

I wouldn't be able to contribute much to a big project, other than maybe in coming up with ideas for backstories/plotlines and characters. I'm still shitty at sprites at the moment, and since I have terrible self criticism, I have made no progress in actual editing or custom skills.

A donate thing would probably help. Heck, I'd be more than willing to donate to help save the site (if it weren't unfortunately for the lack of a job that is.)

Can't actively think of anything else at the moment, but if I come up with something else I'll put it up here.

One way could be to make sure that all the skins have ads showing up.

I still use the old Fresh Blue, since it's the least glitchy and most fitting.

the issue with the whole project thing, is that we need some kind of simple game with a programmer that has time and a sprite style that alot of people can use and doesnt take much animation... hmm...

1. he won't be hosting any fangame soon so that's not happening; the best we can hope for is the halloween game.

Do I find the site worth saving? Not currently. Ask me back in 2009 and it would've been a definite yes. Regardless, I haven't given up on this place, but I've already tried just about every idea I could both think of and actually carry out. Doombringer Zyros can only do so much. Incidentally, ads aren't a problem in my eyes, but if the site's going to stay active it needs more than just Megaman and Castlevania. A lot more.

It's worth noting that a lot of the forum's issues originate from a staff standpoint. Take that as you wil.

I think cutting out past topics would be a good idea, and then updating the PD section of the main site since it has, like, NEVER been updated (longshot I know). But would cutting most of the old topics even help the situation?

You know what... Better idea. I'm going to go write a sprite comic guide covering things beyond what the current par sprite comics is. Post it here, exclusively, and watch it generate traffic.

THEN, I might restart two other things I've been wanting to restart.

...Oh yeah, might as well not waste a theory. In my opinion, a lot of projects fail here, not due to lack of interest, but due to the sporadic attention span time available to the critical members of said projects (also counts RPs). So I'd suggest of few long term projects that have a bit of redundacy or enough extra fluff that the others involved still have things to while they wait, as to create the illusion of progress, if not actual progress.

honestly, i find it kind of hard to care about this forum sometimes. there's a lot of nostalgia here for me, but atm its completely inactive and what activity there is is hardly worthwhile. once in a while a cool old member shows up or there's a small burst of activity, but i honestly dont see this place going anywhere unless capcom decides to start giving a shit about megaman again or there's some major changes in this site.

Its been suggested that getting rid of some of the older stuff and also expanding the forum to include more than just Megaman and Castlevania could help.

Pretty much both of these things. I'd love to see this site stay afloat, but it will probably need a major overhaul.

Apparently I haven't posted since January 2008...how about that. Just letting you all know that even though I've ghosted out of the forums, thanks to life and girlfriends and the overall busyness that comes with college, I still regularly visit INC. It has always been a superior spriting site, leagues ahead of the others. Hearing that it could be going down the drain is a major bummer. I don't know about all this flash chat and fancy gadgetry you've got going on these days, but I'll say that if dropping that keeps the site alive, go for it. Heck, if it'll help, go ahead and drop out the Fan Created and Castlevania sections, too. Even if INC is never updated again, it's worth it to keep the main site up, always there as a handy tool for those who need it.

...and because I feel inclined to say something super motivational, I'll reference Mega Man 1 itself. Fight, Sprites INC! For everlasting peace!

a) I'll host 'em fangames on my site. Unlimited hostin'.

b) Dunno if you know this, but the more pages you have with googleads, the less dough you get per click/view. Use an analytics of somekind to see which pages get the most traffic, and leave your ads (if you're using google ads, mind you) on those pages.

c) I used flashchat, and got rid of it. We use Ajax Chat now.

d) I'm sure depending on what sort of hosting plan you get, you're gonna get either unlimited or a limited amount of bandwith. I currently have unlimited ammount of bandwith. If worst comes to shove, mate- I'll host this site. You may not trust/know me, but I'll give you an FTP account and everything for your site. Heck, I won't charge you for hosting.
