RA:Legends Link (PG-13)
http://www.legacymaelstormm.com/c/ralegends/index.htm Though the most recent part is 386, it makes for a good intro to the comic since it covers the main theme. Though it does have spoilers if the rest hasn't been read prior: http://youtu.be/r-ypXbSCpGk --<*>--
I've had this comic floating around for a while now (2003'ish) and recently have had the time to get back to work on it sporadically. Chapter 3 has finally been ended resolving The Cataclysm, and Chapter 4 is underway to begin covering the FF7 parts of the comic. To those who've never saw it floating around out there on the intarwebz, it covers one of the wandering adventure's of the demon, Rick, that lands him on a parallel world themed around Mega Man. From there other worlds will begin getting blendered into the mix (FF6, FF7, MMX, Tekkaman Blade, Transformers, DBZ, Sonic). There's no definite art style or media format for better or worse, as I learn new things it changes to incorporate them. It jumps between 8bit'ish, hand drawn, CG, JPEG format, Flash movie format, Video format, etc... though the standard 8bit'ish JPEG format is the predominant of them. Though with my style, I don't go the cartoon route so the blue smurf and the rest of the cast tend to appear more like the old 1994 Mega Man cartoon show when not 8bit'ish. There are several games out there related to this comic as well: (Mega Man Next, Mega Man Next Remix, Roll Next, Mega Man X Next). They can be found on my site and newgrounds. Pushing forward from here I'll be ping ponging back and forth between finishing the current game (MMNR) and RA:Legends so updates will unpredictable. Hope ya's enjoy this product of my hobby ^_~ |

I'm so glad that the comic is finally moving onto another part of the story!
Not saying the last three chapters have been unenjoyable (they were great!), it's just that it'll be a breath of fresh air from the Megaman - Takyon battle (assuming that the "god war" storyline will be "on hold" briefly while we deal with Cloud's battle, and Mega Man and Rick's adventure). Because of the big title that popped up in the latest video (which was great, by the way, loved the semi-introductions to the other universes and how they all sort of tied in with Light/Takyon (I didn't guess that the Transformers would have any relationship to Takyon, so nice how you pulled that off)), I want to ask: would you consider the last three chapters to merely be an "introduction" for the comic? Because the lates video really reminded me of an opening or beginning scene/episode.

I'm glad to see it plodding along now myself after the long hiatus, though I'm still sad about cutting so much from the fight with Volgon, but I think I at least got all the main points of that fight covered.
If you were to look at the entirety of the comic as a movie (all 43 plotted chapters of it), then the first 3 would definitely be what is shown before the actual title of the movie appears. With all the groundwork laid out from those 3 chapters now it's just a matter pouring the rest of the worlds into the mix turning 8 or so individual stories into one massive one. Thankfully the remaining chapters shouldn't be as large as those first 3 introductory ones so, time permitting, I can plow through them once graphics are made. |
