Default Petition for Megaman ZX3

Hey everybody, most likely nobody here knows me, I used to come to sprites-inc quite a while a few years ago, but for real life reasons, now I don't anymore.

Anyways, my favorite Mega Man games has always been Megaman ZX. Great plot, gameplay, and all that stuff you all know very well.
Well, it happens that ZXA has been out for almost five years now, most of us agree that the ending hints to a new game for the series, but we still got none.

So I thought, instead of just sit and wait for something that isn't likely to happen, why don't we try to do something ourselves? All of us want to see ZX3 made, but few have actually tried something useful.

Then I had the idea of making a petition to send to Capcom after we get some thousands of signatures asking them to make it. I know that the chances of success aren't very high, but hey, it's better than doing nothing! After all, some years ago, I was asked to sign a petition to be sent to Nintendo asking for Pokémon Gold and Silver remakes and not long after we actually got the remakes.

So, here is the link to the petition, sign it, tell your friends, post on other websites! Spread the word!

PS: I'm sorry if this is against the rules to do that, or if I'm on the wrong board. I really didn't know where else to post it.

Dude he said "most likely nobody here knows me" and while he did edit his post it was edited before you posted.

At any rate I do agree with Doogles; a petition is not going to work; especially an internet petition. Internet petitions do not work well because it is next to impossible to validate if the electronic signature is genuine. Some people will make a bot program to sign, put false information, and sign multiple times. Even if it were possible to prevent mutiple signings it would cause a new problem in that other people who legitimately want to sign but share a computer would be unable to do so.
Lastly petitioning for a game has a slim chance of working. Most people shoot for a decently high number, such as the 100,000 of Legends 3, but in comparison to what the company is aiming to sell the number of signatures obtained often times will not even allow the company to break even.

Your best bet would be in either facilitating a fan-game project (rarely successful and hard to start; though as Chrono X has shown is not impossible) or in giving your support and resources to an existing fan-game project. Even if you can't contribute to the game itself it may be possible to help drive the game in other ways such as fan-art, advertisement, information/resource gathering, scouting for potential talent, ect.

As Hoth has pointed out, you misread it. I said "most likely nobody here knows me. Thanks for pointing that out, Hoth.

That's my opinion dude, you don't need to think the same way as I do.

first of all I'm not the kind of guy who wants to "imply" something. When I want to say something, I say it. If you had properly read the first post, you would've seen that I said I know the chances of success aren't high.

If you don't share the same thoughts and have nothing useful to contribute, then you don't need to post at all, thank you.

Yeah, I know those are dificulties. And yeah, I know we don't stand many chances. I just wanted to start trying something, maybe with the hope that more people buy the idea and then it would eventually grow into something. Either way, I just thought it would be better than just sit and do nothing and complain that Capcom doesn't make the third game, like many people kinda do.

I once tried making a fan game for a sequel. Had a story, characters, Biometals, some sprites, and started learning programming. But then I realized it was something I just couldn't do by myself, and I couldn't get many people to work on the idea with me, so I just quit it. I would try to take it back from where I stopped, or help an existing project, but the way my life is at the moment, I simply don't have time for that =/

Anyways, this is just an attempt at something. It wouldn't hurt to try.

Personally if I couldn't make the game and had already had that stuff I would post it everywhere possible and make it totally PD. That way someone else can take up the task if they choose to without having to do as much work. If that happened I would then try and keep occasional contact with whoever takes up the project and follow them until they cease working on the project. Once they stop working (which most do) I would attempt to get them to release the materials they made. In this way you can over time obtain a wealth of material to take from.

You could go ahead and do that here, at the Megaman Network, Perfect Memories, The Rockman.EXE Zone, The Mechanical Maniacs, ect. (Note: The links are where I think a thread would be most appropriate; you might want to look around a bit).
You could also go into specific niches to try and get more specific results.

I'm not saying you have to manage a project; but why not release what you've already done? It's a whole lot less daunting to have a starting point than beginning from nowhere. Just a suggestion.
