All of the decoy masters have similar weapons:
Met Man is a mostly-invincible boss with a triple shot buster. Rock receives a Met helmet, that only protects from hazards directly above him, excluding spikes, large objects, and heavy objects. (It does help when Ordnance launches a rain of missiles.) No weapon energy necessary. ------------------ Taser Man is a boss with electrifying punches. He can shock the walls and ground, sending a charged bolt towards Rock. Rock receives a taser for an arm. Must be charged to discharge any energy. Uncharged, its equivalent to a regular punch. Can be used to start-up downed power generators. ------------------ Tough Man is a large, and very slow boss. What he lacks in speed he gains in durability and power. Can only take damage to charged buster shots and Boxer Punch; even still, he only flinches to the latter. Tough Man creates massive walls before sliding them towards Rock by punching them. Tough Man will usually use these walls to obstruct Rock's shots. (Note: avoiding Tough Man is somewhat easy: you can either jump over him or slide under him; damaging him is tough.) Rock creates the same, but shorter, walls. They are great for shields, but they also obstruct Rock's shots. A charged shot will knock the wall over, but not push them. The can only damage enemies directly next to the wall when it falls over. ------------------ Boxer Man is a short-mid ranged boss. His punches tend to be quite fast, except for the extended ones. Rock only receives the extendable punch. It's not a particularly fast weapon, as it has to extend and retract before being used again. It's mostly a utility weapon, like Taser Punch, as it is for buttons that are beyond reach. ------------------ |

click to show Drawn while waiting for interview. Spoiler for size. Hydro Man was redesigned, the hose idea was actually hastily decided back then. He's now a walking water tank with centrifugal pumps for arms. Hydro Man has a "limited" supply of water, but he fills it back up over time. You can see the water level on his head. To attack, he revs up his arms and sprays a jet of water. I hadn't really decided on how he'd replenish his supply. One idea was through the level itself; maybe he attaches himself to the walls and draws from an external reservoir. Alternatively I could have him either draw water from the air or go with the ridiculous and have him literally fuse Oxygen and Hydrogen molecules internally. Rock's weapon, Hydro Jet (formerly Hydro Shot), doesn't need to be charged up to attack, but has a revving animation before firing his jet of water, like Hydro Man. Rock's jet however, is much shorter both in range and amount. It can put out fires or short out electric-based enemies and things. (Hydro Jet can be used to cool down Tephra Man; it won't damage him, but it'll make him more susceptible to damage by becoming brittle.) Note: Still working on his torso, as it's a little plain right now. |
