hmm... not sure what it is, but something about their body structures doesn't seem to fit the MMX4-6 style. For some reason, I just can't put my finger on it

Alia's black seems a little too bright. Since those areas are more of a cloth-like material, you could probably drop the lightest shade, given that cloth isn't as reflective as armor.

Could be the Zero/ZX series styles rubbing off on me.

The cloth-like parts of Alia are composed of 1 outline and two colors. Removing the lightest shade risks making the sprite look flat.

"Lightened" the black parts of Alia's sprite.

Also, I just remembered where my sudden resurgence of spriting creativity came from: I have a paper due tomorrow*.

*For those new or have forgotten, my creative motivation is directly linked with important non-hobby projects. As deadlines grow increasingly closer, the more creative my mind gets. Which is great for my projects, if it weren't also usefully for my sprite works. Good examples are the ZX models I've made.

I think the eyes look good this way. I also think they don't quite look X style. Can't quite figure out why, but it might have something to do with the colors. X style uses some quite big contrast between the shades, and almost always the lightest shade of a color is pure white (or something close to it).

One other thing is that Layer should probably be a bit taller than she is right now.

Zero is pretty damn tall; Layer is exactly the same height as Zero.

Unless you're suggesting I remake a more acceptable standing frame for Zero.

On an unrelated note, I'm joining up in a contest.

Feel free to join up if you want to challenge me/have fun/practice spriting/etc.

Unfortunately, non-members can't seem to read the linked thread so I'll paraphrase:

Judging is by consensus via a poll made on April 1st.

Prizes:
1st place: A TF2 hat or miscellaneous item (or a non-TF2 prize if you don't own/play/enjoy TF2)
2nd place: A custom username color/icon/other aesthetics (Really relevant to the aforementioned forum, not here obviously.)
third place: A handdrawn piece of art.

I'm pretty sure all of X8 design's have proportions similar to MMZ style. All the reploids armors were smaller.

Proportions still see off. I cannot put my finger on it. This is really starting to bug me.

One thing that bothers me about all three sprites, is they seem to be leaning forward just a little bit too much, mostly just Layer and Pallette.

Alia's face appears to be too long by about 1 pixel, and I think it might look a bit better if you took all the pixels just above the mouth on her head and shifted them to the right one.

Layer's chest seems to be a bit to high up on her, it might help to lower, and shorten the white chest plate by one pixel going away from the neck.

The pink parts of Alia's armor should actually be more of a pink/peach color compared to what they are now.

And Layer's hair needs a boost in contrast, aside from the armor, which has already been mentioned for both Alia and Layer.

I actually was reluctant to make the sprite based on the fact that I did not really know who actually made the design and screenshot (seen in the request thread). But, it was a very tempting challenge.

Edit: 200% larger.

Edit 2: Gold Ankle Bands, not Black ones. Changed to match wrists.

I use this method too when scratching, just can't seem to get it right. :/

Model X doing that generic ninja-style running thing. Done by request.

Two things:
- Having tried sprinting in highschool, I'm not sure what's the advantage of pointing your arms back like that. Sprinters pump their arms to gain speed and maintain the rhythm of their run; it seems a bit counter intuitive to running without moving your arms (I've tried running in this manner and my arms and shoulders hurt every time I try).

- I honestly don't know how this'll pan out when animated.

well i am in track and i can honestly say, that would tire you out in no time. however i think the run is like that because you get lower to the ground causing you to gain speed

Leaning forwards more and lowering your body does help, but having your arms trail behind seems unnecessary.

Unless it's in preparation to unsheathe a weapon attached to your back or something.

Or it's just for aesthetics. :/

Ninjas run like that because they're goddamn ninjas,it's not like they ever get tired,so they just do it for the looks.

I used to run like that when I was 5,because of Sonic and ninjas of course,I don't remember if it's actually tiring or not though,but I always thought I was the shit while doing so :V

I used to run like that when i were little because of sonic

and also i think only naruto runs like that since most ninjas like Strider and Ryu Hayabusa run like this

Yeah, I have only one thing to say here: The Blues' Extension sprites seem to have been shrunk. Right when I was about to use them. So yeah, I thought I'd let you know.
