This also helps my argument as well; Indie games, with better gameplay and mechanics and more originality sell less than this...why?

Casuals and people in general buying what they're used to. Doesn't necessarily make it good.

Look at the CoD series; basically the same game every year, but it sells millions.

People can enjoy a game but that doesn't make it good. Look at cod, it sells millions and people love it but it's still a shitty game. People really like Halo ODST and Reach, but they're pretty terrible games. Therefore, people like shitty games. This is the case with Terraria.

There's two problems with this logic. The first is, again, that really only seems to work for big name series. If I came out with shitty real life wannabe FPS, it would sell a bit, but it wouldn't survive very long unless it was better than what's out there.

Second, what exactly is a shitty game. You don't have to be Blazblue to not be a shitty game, or some kind of Hardcore gaming masterpiece. I mean if that's your level of standards, you really, really need to chill and get out more. Yeah, you can say it can be more creative and inspired, and you can also call it overrated... but that doesn't make a game shitty.

There's good but not great games out there. Terraria is one of these now.

I played Terraria for about 5 hours a few months ago to give it a chance. I don't really remember enjoying even a single minute of this 5 hours. If a game cannot manage to entertain me within the first few hours then I consider it shit.

Oh and as an example of a shitty unpopular game that can be found enjoyable. Yugioh 5Ds Wheelie Breakers. It's shit, yet for some odd reason it entertains me and my friends. None of us will ever say its a good game even though we enjoy it.

i played my terraria copy for about 1 hour. it does look like a 2d minecraft but well....

I could just reduce it to casuals enjoy bad games. That and the gist of what I'm trying to get across is that whether someone likes or dislikes a game doesn't make the game good/bad. In example: I dislike the Uncharted series. However I don't think they're terrible games.

Casuals are a part of the industry yes. Unfortunately there are many negatives to casuals being such a large part of the industry all the same.

Here's the thing... A few months ago was before both a balance patch AND an increase of content.

The reason I revived the thread is because the game has improved. I'm just saying if you gave it a chance because the concept sounded kinda neat, maybe the game has improved enough since you guys last tried it to be worth your while to try again.

I'm not so naive to think that if you didn't like it before, just saying its good without a significant change to the the things you guys didn't like happening would do anything.

If you still don't like it or don't think its worth your time to try it again, fair enough. I know you guys know what a masterpiece is, so I can at least agree that, yeah this isn't one of them.

As for me, I'm going to go put more hours into the game.

I'd give it another chance cause of all the new stuff, but I'm far too lazy to go torrent the newest version

Fair enough. If the content changes significantly again, I'll probably let sprites-inc know again, just in case someone (other than me) actually cares around here.
May I ask you guys to not waste anymore time on this thread if you're going to call it shit again if I do that?

Or is this actually entertaining to rant about this?
