I'm just asking, I already decided to sit this one out.

So, something like this:

Game in reference is Shatterhand(8bit NES) with Contra III/Alien Wars(16bit SNES) main character colors and shading.

And while I'm sure it's a given, we need to make this stuff up for each new contest instead of using pre-created sprites, yeah? If so, then discount this as anything other than a possible example. If not, count me in.

Yeah, like that. The new sprites must be done by you, with originals as a refrence.

That wasn't quite what I meant though looking at the wording I can see how you thought it was.

I'm asking if we have to make the sprites after this contest opens with this specific contest in mind, not use anything we had made before that. The sprites up there are from at least '09.

Just wanted to clarify- I believe the other contest forum has(had?) that rule in place last time I participated.

You can see the original post for when I made those two sprites here(post #13) for verification purposes.

My finalized entry.

This includes the main character(Teleported in, Idle, first few steps, Punching, Jumping, Air-Punching) plus the robot that can be obtained through one of several item combos, and one of the six bosses(Waking up, Idle, Attacking, Damaged).

No mockups though, can't find a background and screencapping a grainy youtube video for one just isn't right.

ugh. I don't think I have enough time and/or motivation left to do all that I wanted to with this. (Wanted to make two mock up screens.)
But let's turn this into a actual competition shall we?

I know, not enough people know about it let alone are able to enjoy the game.

Nice to see some more people are contributing! Not sure what game you're doing either, NDraxian, but that sprite is coming along nicely. Metalman's is snazzy too.
