Exactly, I have seen several comics where the author tried to thank every single person that they got sprites from and that was longer than the actual comic it's self. I think giving credit is just saying, Thank you to everyone that has ripped or made the sprites that appear in this comic, unless you know who made the sprites by name like the custom sprites here on SI.

You all bring up a good point, yes, the rips may be from a game but who ever ripped them should get credit do to the work they did just ripping them. So they should get credit for them, I'm not rebelling against ACE_Spark, god no I won't do that, I got banned from one for because I got mad at an admin and every other mod because they were being a little rude about me not using the right kind of sprites that they were using, long story short, I got banned, and still am to this day.

This whole thing reminds me of that incedent with my sprites. Lunika was demanding credit for her rips which took her a ridiculous amount of time.

Some people are just too stuborn to listen to you sometimes. You just got to tell them what you guys said, and then leave 'em be. no sense getting into a huge argument...

Well, posted in this old thread, because its "sticked" and interesting nowadays!

I always give credits in my games
'cause the ripper but their own time and patience in ripping the sprites, it's always a good idea to give them (at least) a small "Special Thanks to:" credit

especially when you use custom made sprites!
ask for permission and give credit

)

Why?
Because giving credit to them would look like they made the sprite. All they did was rip. Of course, it is difficult and time consuming but it'd be giving incorrect credit.
And if it is a custom sprite than you have to give credit unless the author states otherwise anyways, so yeah. That and permission.

I didn't mean to give credit to the sprites itself
but for the work the rippers put into the work

of course, the sprites belongs to Nintendo, Sega, Capcom and all others ;P

Yes, I understood you fully, and still, No credit. They worked hard and of course they deserve respect and people should know who ripped it, but no. Know how annoying it is to get permission to use a sprite someone ripped when they didn't even make it?
