Dude,sprites are just pixels,there's no deep philosophy(sp?) in it,and I think you're taking things waay too seriously.
I don't see how stopping spriting could make you stop talking to your friends either,but whatev.
And sure,make things that do look good for you,but keep taking crit aswell so you can improve.
