View Full Version : I want to try again; let's build an iX!

I didn't know where else to put this, so I'll just put it here since it's about sprites. :g-drop:
iX is my favorite Megaman X character. Since I found the sheet that I had once posted here not too long ago and got unexpected (bad) responses, I felt a little put-off.
But I've owned up to my mistake and I want to try again. I want to start from scratch and make my own iX sprite sheet.
But me being me, I'm not very good at pulling things out of thin-air; I often need help...so I want you guys to spill me some ideas that I can build upon, and turn into an innovative, creative sheet that everyone can use. What do you guys think would make iX look totally kickass in pixel form?
What poses should be made, what attacks should he have, what color should he be, and what bittage would he look best in?
I'm waiting and listening, y'all. And for pete's sake, don't flame me. :g-neko:

I already had someone building an iX years ago, you can use him as a basis for colours and such, as he turned out very well. He's not my sprite, though, so I can't really give permission to use him outright.

He seems to have almost no neck, that could present a problem in future battles

http://www.asylumavatars.net/ix.gifYour name reminds me of a certain game that I've never seen or heard about for a long time...
*Ahem* Do you remember who did make that sprite? Because, avoiding the same mistake twice, I won't get started without permission.

Yeah, a lot of Megaman fans have played one of my games at some point.
Yes, I do. But he never joined any forums, and I don't have any current contact info. Haven't spoken to him in years. Use the colours though, you can do that much.

Is iX an actual character from MMX? I've never seen him. I'm pretty sure he's a fan character, considering there's a comic on BnG based around him.
iX is an actual character from the X manga. He's the product of somthing Dr. Doppler did to X, I cant remember what, but he's basically X's equal to Nightmare Zero

Actualy he has been a huge evil character in many BnG comics, I also thought he was a fan character.

Hmm, I've always thought the name was Return X, not iX. :g-think:

I thought so too.
He was iX first, then became ReturnX after his resurrection. And he's from a card series called MegaMissions. Dunno much about the manga, but I don't think he made an appearance in them. I could be mistaken.

AM: Do not necro-post, there could be a reason this thread was dead for two months.
I'm sorry to say that your post has been reported.

Generally, you're not suppose to revive old threads... if that guy was still browsing that'd be ok. :P
Either way, I'm not going to warn you, or lock this thread since you didn't actually spam; you provided refrences for what he watned to do, which is good.
Just don't revive old threads in the future, please. :P

They've restructured the articles over the past couple of months and I can't find it any more. Looks like they've restricted that page to characters who appear in the games, and removed all of the characters from other materials.
It's very hard to find information about Megamissions on English websites.
I once had images of every card in the set, but those were lost with a previous hard drive.
Here we go, found a website with some of them. Check cards 7 and 8 in the first list. iX. He's a pretty tough customer. Also, X's Limited Armour is pretty awesome.
Check out #9 for Schmidt, who also rocks.

The lower list is for Megamissions 2.

IX? His name is X. It's just that it's pronounced differently from X as in RockmanX. One is pronounced: Ekkusu -> Ex. The other is pronounced Ikusu -> Ix. But all in all, it's both X.

I'm well aware of that, but as far as I know, "iX" is the accepted English form. I can't say if that is endorsed by Capcom or the manga writer, but that's the most common form I've seen.
