Beta name for the NeoMan universe

WILL NOT HAPPEN IN THE MM UNIVERSE
This is me taking neo and defancharactering him.

In the year 2525, the government began a project to create an A.I. that could learn and develop from outside stimuli. The created three test robots of the R.U.S.T series. A simple name for experimental bots. Robot under scientific testing. Prototypes, really. Models Alpha, Beta, Gamma. All three were raised as children by the engineers. However, not all engineers treated them kindly. Alpha was greatly mistreated, beaten and neglected when in need of repairs. As a result, Alpha grew to hate mankind. He began resenting his brothers for they sided with man. He decided to escape and in the process killed beta(I'll expand on this when I write the details). After the event, the government decided to cut the program. They shut down gamma. As in turned him off and wiped the memory from him. They decided to dump the robotin a mech dump on the outskirts of a nearby city. The city of metal hands, North City. Known for it's large machine based labor, there is a robot recycling yard in thw center of the city. And that is were gamma slept for five long years.

"Wake up! It is time to live forever!"

A 16 year old boy smiles down upon a refurbished gamma. It is now 2530. The boy's name is Tony Solljus. He works at the robot recycling yard and had repaired gamma.

I HAVE MORE BUT I HAVE HOMEWORK TO DO. EDITING LATER

This looks super duper interesting.

So, in the end, does Tony become Neoman by merging with Gamma or something along those lines?

nono. Gamma becomes rusty due to wiped memory, and is more of a robot buddy with a past than anything. Tony becomes Neo when alpha reappears and exacts his revenge. Tony fixes old robots and often befriends them. The ones he saved offer parts for him to build a simple armor to save North city. I'ma update somemore later tonight.

Got some designs going. In order.
Tony
Red Rescue(Newspaper nickname for his debut)
Neo
Choogle

Gamma will have a sprite soon.

The debut, this is when alpha strikes a factory in the city. Mass explosions and chaos ensue. Tony goes in not to fight, but to rescue anyone who did not evacuate.

I have alot of scattered story bits right now. They just aren't connected yet.

While I fully support de-fancharactering fancharacters, the setting is way too Megaman like, infact the story itself sounds more like a different take/alternate universe of the Rockman seires backstory in all honesty. The robot who hates humanity, from what I see,is basically classic Blues rolled into Bass.exe (I'm not saying it's a carbon copy, but heavily similiar).
The fact you're using the MM style as a base for the sprites doesn't help either.

I know many things are different, but the basic setting is really similiar.

I do like some concepts and the character designs.

Hmmm. I agree about the robot hater thing. Maybe... Ax crazy Rogue AI ?

The reason I had alpha hate humanity was to have the character have a sympathetic side. He was beaten, used for parts, and threatened daily. You'd be bitter too. But not Unredimable(SP?). I believe no villain is 100% evil. I don't think robots will rebel though. I was thinking more along the lines of a terrorist group headed by Alpha who hate human/robot co-dependence.

The sprite style stays till I find a better one.

You're completely correct. No one is 100% evil because evil is a completely subjective term. Though I will say someone can be 100% ruthless.

I agree with Shinbs in that it is too cliche.
You could always do a deconstruction of the robots go insane plot.[x] (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GenreDeconstruction)

As for your sprite style why don't you use this drawing as a basis [x] (http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=342402&postcount=79)?

I was hoping to do a Do androids Dream? type ting. A deconstruction of robots going insane might work. However, the Alpha I had in mind wasn't insane. Extremely hatefull of the human race but still very rational.

For the sprite style, the right thing is to come up with a new one, since it's your universe.
While I'm okay with the MM style and it's much easier this way,it'll make it too much of a Megaman fan(comic?) except without..y'know,Megaman himself.

Also, his design reminds me of Pulseman, specially on the artwork.

Never noticed that.

Maybe I can hand draw this with some practice.

Couldn't you just fucking google it rather than making a stupid question that doesn't help Neo or the topic in any way?
And I know you're gonna say you thought it was a Megaman character, but the point still stands.

And you couldn't just tell him in addition to calling him out?
Pulseman (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://local-static3.forum-files.fobby.net/forum_attachments/0021/0968/2009_02_14_pulseman_03.gif&imgrefurl=http://fangamer.com/forum/Fan/Forum/FANVATARS-Avatar-Factory-Reloaded/1520915&h=399&w=636&sz=43&tbnid=DPWVv3u4mZd6ZM:&tbnh=73&tbnw=117&zoom=1&docid=i33CJAq14ougZM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=BQnCTuyPEYHDgAeyt9XoDg&sqi=2&ved=0CDcQ9QEwAg&dur=252)

Anyways I personally think the whole 'robot that hates humanity' thing is a bit too cliche; not that using a cliche is always a bad thing.

What is Alpha's motive going to become? Take over the world? A city? Destroy humanity? Take revenge on specifically his former master?
Also it seems like a bit much to base all of humanity off of a single person.

Revenge on humans for using machines. Mostly hitting major cities and such with terrorist attacks. His only interaction was with his cruel caretaker. And in the city/ world, robots are treated as 2nd class people by 99.9 percent of the population. He thinks humans don't deserve robot help and actualy should serve the machines.
