Anyone else pysched for Luna's appearance?
From what few spoilers I've looked at, it looks like this will be a fun episode.
Season 2 has been nothing but gold so far, (Ok, so it's only three episodes in, but when said episodes remind you very much why you gave up your masculinity in the first place...).
Whilst I doubt it will be as funny as Lesson Zero (Now probably one of my favourite slapstick episodes of the series, if only thanks to Twilight Pyscho and her brilliant expressions. Those things had me in stiches.), I am geniunely interested in her characterisation.
Or to quote my friend Sven "Oh my god, Luna's in this one." That.. probably sums it up best.

A lot of cartoons nowadays are made in flash, which isn't necessarily better.
It is faster than traditional handdrawn works, but in some cases it looks somewhat lazier.

I don't get the appeal.
Here comes the "Why I'm a Brony" Explaination every Brony seems to have to make.
Some, like the cute characters. Some, approve of the animation quality. Some, like the storytelling. Some people find the show really really funny.
Or they have no clue and ask themselves at what point their life went so wrong and they became a My Little Pony fan.
I'm a mixture of the latter two.
The main reason I like the show? It's funny. Laugh out loud funny.
It helps the show was helmed by Lauren Faust, who was also part of the reason that Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was so wildy successful.

I don't get the appeal.
From what I as a non-brony have gathered. This isn't so much a pony cartoon, as it is a quality cartoon that just so happens to have ponies.
If this is in fact ture, one could just change the names, color pallete, and character designs/species, and the cartoon would STILL be just as good (or close to it). (I'd like to hear the results of this hypothesis tested with something more male orientated. Like space marines or mecha.)
In other words, ignore the fact that its about ponies.
I do understand how it can be considered manly to watch it. Here's the thing: One of the more manly actions is to take a hit, and be all pft, screw this, I'm going to continue on and be all stoic and all. When you can admit to watching and liking a quality girly show, your manliness takes a hit. Now if you can be all stoic and take the hit to your manliness like a boss, well then its not so much your more manly, but your manliness itself is now manly.

Not the helm, but the Producor, Director and one of the main Writers of the show.
She also was a writer for the Movie.
She IS the wife of Craig McCracken though, who IS the helm of PowerPuff Girls.
For the record, the latest episode? It was pretty good. Luna's personality was a little strange to begin with, but definately grew on me by the end. The fact she's a large ham also wins points in that regard.

Hasbro doesn't take the videos down.
I wouldn't know what to start on - the pilots good, but aren't the best episodes of the series. (Try to survive the song.) Dragonshy, Bridal Gossip and Swarm of the Century are good starting ones, and don't have much in the way of girly in it. The funniest are probably either Lesson Zero (season 2) or Feeling Pinkie Keen.
I wish I could recommend the second season starter, as QDiscord (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_de_Lancie) takes everything you expect out of the show and throws it out the window - BUT.. you kind of need some knowledge of the show to even understand it.
If you do get hooked though, you may find yourself watching the entire thing in an evening... Skip anything with these characters (http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Cutie_Mark_Crusaders) though. Those characters take even good episodes down a few pegs, and you really need a thick skin to survive those episodes.
Also - skip the theme song, for the love of god. Seriously. That WILL put you off more than anything else the show can do. Even I still wince at it.

It's actually a pretty dang good series. I prefer season 1 to most everything I've seen in season 2, but it's still a good show. The writers are excellent, and it's probably the only thing I can watch on television anymore.
Is there any chance someone could give me like... a list of "must-watch" episodes so I can get caught up with the series real fast?
I'll probably end up watching the whole series eventually, but I'd rather be caught up as soon as possible.

Well that's.. a hard question, but these are my personal favourites:
Dragonshy, Feeling Pinkie Keen, Stare Master, Dog and Pony Show, Green Isn't Your Color, Party of One, Best Night Ever, Return of Harmony, Lesson Zero, Luna Eclisped, Last Rounderp.. er Roundup, Read it and Weep, A Friend in Deed, (Epic song is epic.) and finally Putting Your Hoof down.
These are the episodes i've watched several times and keep coming back to. You can pretty much watch these in any order and since there isn't really an ongoing plot, should be alright to watch! Some continuity gags may be missed though.
I still end up avoiding anything with the Cutie Mark Crusaders - and the new Baby characters. ("Baby Cakes" is the only episode i've turned off part way through.)
Return of Harmony is definately a must watch.
I'm currently watching Season 2 backwards, so I can't actually say if the middle of that season is any good or not.
It's actually a pretty dang good series. I prefer season 1 to most everything I've seen in season 2, but it's still a good show. The writers are excellent, and it's probably the only thing I can watch on television anymore.
I find myself watching Season 1 again more than Season 2, that's for certain.

Really enjoyed seeing Flutterbitch show up again in the last episode. I honestly thought Iron Will was going to be a pony, but a Minotaur is even better. Seemed there was quite a bit of Brony shout outs in the background this time, didn't really notice any of them until I checked the recap on Equestria Daily, but my favorite had to be the muffin on Derpy's saddle bag.

Just back from watching "It's About Time".
New episode was pretty epic. Well, not epic, but pretty entertaining.
The ending is pretty predictable, but, I wouldn't have expected anything less. Twilight freakin' out is always a laugh.
Also +1 confirm on the intentional Metal Gear Solid reference. You'll grin hard when you catch it.

Eh, I think you're confusing Bronies for crazy people.
The distinction is slight, but it's there. I actually haven't seen examples of these people in the MLP fandom, but seen several in the Megaman and Sonic fandoms.

What do you guys think about Cadence and the upcoming finale for season 2? I'm curious as to why de Lancie is coming pack to voice act...
I'm not too fond of Candence really. I think it's mostly the fact that she's an alicorn, when Luna and Celestia were supposed to be the only two. She's also Celestia's niece I guess, which would mean that either Luna had some foals at one point, or Luna and Celestia have another brother or sister somewhere.
As for de Lancie, I'm hoping for a return performance from Discord myself. Not that there is a whole lot more they could do with Discord, unless they place him into a recurring villain role.
Plot and speculation about children's show impending
In the episode where they like explain the history of how Equestria came to be, there's no mention of Luna or Celestia. So it's probable they were born sometime after Equestria was settled, and the duty of changing day to night and vice versa was passed from the general unicorn population onto the alicorn sisters.
So it's possible Alicorns are born just like any other pony, albeit very rarely.

Just watched this week's episode. Can't say I was a fan of the ending, but the rest was entertaining. Rarity and her eyebrows made me laugh hard, and I don't know why.
I have spent the day catching up on Episodes I missed. Specially Ponyville Confidential and Hurricane Fluttershy.
There was finally a Cutie Mark Crusaders episode I liked.

Well. That was a pretty awesome season finale. I've only watched low-quality versions though, so I hope to catch some HD verisons soon enough.
I think this newly discovered changeling race is actually.. pretty damn cool. They're pretty creepy, particularly the half-rotted look they have going on.
The Villian wasn't really defeated in a manner that seemed all that definate a victory though, which is a bit odd... A bit "team rockety" I'd say, whilst it means she CAN come back, it seems as though she's just been brushed aside. Something akin to what happened to Nightmare Moon or Discord would've been better. The fact that the Elements weren't used for once, was a nice touch.
From some sites i've looked at, I know some was betting on Trixie or Discord being the villian, but honestly? I think undead insect bitch queen was a much better choice than either of those would've turned out. Using Discord probably would've raised too many eyebrows in Hasbro's eyes, and Trixie? .. isn't all that powerful.
I think Trixie would be a poor choice as an actual villain because she wasn't actually evil, she was just an annoying bitch.
But yes. Royal Wedding is best episodes.
The songs were ridiculously catchy too

Did everyone else see thatPrincess Cadence was a fake from the beginning coming? I know I sure did. Also who thought that the fight with the clones and the finale in general was 20% MORE AWESOME than last seasons?!!!
