depends on if you have it as ROM or not. What you would do is disable the BG and mostly every other layer (varies where from emulator to emu) and then use the screen capture function on the emu. Then use that to make the sheet.

Ace should know more if you don't understand completly. and 2 things.

1- This is the wrong fourm, this should be in Rips
2- Ace, you really need a tutorial for others to learn how to Rip

Thread moved, and as far as I know, you can only rip sprites from roms. Though, if you're able to extract the iso from the game cd, you may be able to rip sprites that way, but as far as I know, you can't rip directly from the PS.

I'm not sure though. Someone with more sprite-ripping expirience should answer this one.

It's not easy to get sprites from PSX games. You either have to extract the data from the ISO itself (not easy with MM8 due to the compression used. Unfortunately the main character graphics are compressed in such a way that ripping is actually IMPOSSIBLE in some cases), or use a PSX emulator, and stick the CD in.
How-ever PSX emulators don't have any features for disabling backgrounds, meaning this is definately the hard way to rip. (You have to remove the backgrounds manually, which is difficult when the game's graphics use the same pallettes as the backgrounds.
Either way is a VERY time consuming process.

I know for a fact that the Super Nintendo game Rockman and Forte contains sprites from Mega Man 8. You might be able to find a Japanese ROM of the game somewhere (it's quite a fun game too ^_^). SNES games are much easier to emulate and take screenshots of.

Yeah, Rockman and Forte should be fully ripped. It's the stuff in Mm8 that didn't get put into RM&F (eg, Fortress Bosses, Unquie enemies, Sub Bosses, etc).

True. I guess it depends on what bloodzero wants to rip.

Actually, I had no idea that PSX games could be emulated. I usually stick to cartridge-based systems.

The ISO is the disk itself. There are various files on the disk, and its those files you need to look at to obtain the sprites.

Patience, Patience is the key to victory (or to rip sprites)
