View Full Version : Megaman ZX: Reformation
Hi, this is a project that I'm making for some time now. It is supposed to be a sequel for MMZXA. It happens a few months after ZXA and you play as Grey/Ashe. You find about Model AČ, an upgrade Biometal for Model A. Model AČ tells you there are 26 Biometal, 26 Upgrades and 26 Chosen ones out there and you need to find all of them, otherwise an unknown evil will rise and destroy the world.
Well, the main plot is really boring, the game develops around finding out what is the unknown evil, who created Biometals, this stuff.
Today, we finally released the first demo of the game. It consists of the first stage. It has no cutscenes, dialogs and these things, but the gameplay is perfect. We made it in 8-bit style. We are making the whole game like this before we move on to ZX.
the link for downloading is this (http://www.4shared.com/file/179843422/8c94d8a8/demo_8-bit.html). We also have a forum. I'm not going to post the link as I don't know if advertising is allowed here, but if anyone is interested, PM me and I will tell you the link.
We intend to improve the demo until it's perfect before we move on to the next chapter of the story (I'm writing it in chapters)
That's it for now! I hope you enjoy it despite being kind of glitchy...
hmm usually im not that negatve but...
started it, played it, touched enemy... couldnt get away... died -.-... game loads next life... died again without doing anything... died... died... gameover... closed game -.-
Sorry i love MegaMan tooo much i guess, so make this better and reupload, im looking forward to something playable! :)

*bows* I'm sorry. I've been working on the title screen, but it just looked so bad that I keep starting over. Yours turned out better than what I had. =/
Anyways, the demo. I had the same problem that Foxclaw did in regards to hitting an enemy and being trapped. Also, I fell into a bottomless pit at one point, and then respawned in the bottomless pit and died again... and again... until I ran out of lives.
xD it's ok, randy, I just would've waited, but there wasn't more time to wait D:
and yeah, I need to fix that. I'm working on it.

Yes, that repeated death bug makes this quite unplayable unfortunately. :(

New bug... half bug? I assume it's some sort of oversight. As the entire area is rendered constantly, if you fire your three rounds then they don't get reloaded until they actually hit a wall or the edge of the level. Not really apparent until you get beyond the pits and mets in the first area.
EDIT: Found another one. If for whatever reason you hold C, you'll stay stationary as if you're aiming without firing. And you won't be able to turn until you let go of the direction.
I'll probably be doing this for a while.
Well, i liked the game in general, but i got a few things to mention:
-I think, the character jumps too high, and theres too little gravity, so it takes a while to fall
-There is no recoil from damage (if you get hit, the aniation changes, but you stay on the same spot
-If you jump over a mettaur, and stay behind it, it doesn't turn around (actually i don't know if you eant it this way)
-If you turn left at the beggining of the stage, you leave the screen and you die
-Enemy shots come from out of the screen (it doesn't happens in real games)
-If you fire the 3 shoots, and they leave the screen, you'll have to wait a seconds to be able to fire again (that shouldn't happen, you should be able to fire right after the shoots leave the screen
-In the original Megaman games, after firing a shot, there's a small delay returning from the firing stance (gun out) to the stand/running stance
-And then theres the already mentioned bugs
Keep working on it, i think it might turn out a good thing!!:)
hey, thanks for the ratings!
-ok, I'll fix that
-yeah, my bad, forgot to add that too >.>
-when I programed the game I didn't know how to do it, now I think I know, I'll try to do it too
-OMG I forgot to fix that! Thanks for telling, I'll work on it xD
-actually they don't really come from out of the screen. what happens is that the offscreen enemies shoot even if you're not close to them. I didn't manage to program AI so I made them shoot after some time, I am currently learning AI to fix that.
-that's because the shots are only destroyed when they hit an object or go out of the room. What you see is not the entire room, it's only a view, I need to learn how to destroy the shots as soon as they leave the view
-ok, thanks for telling, I think I know how I can do it
-yeah the bugs are the biggest problem, maybe I can fix them, I have thought on something, but I didn't test it yet, I'll fix them ASAP
Thank you!
