Well, hey now. I didn't know there was a games section here. :D
Well, Since I'd like alot of people to play my games, I might as well post it here. First, Promotional Art!

So anyway, yeah, I've been making a game for the Ace Attorney series. Since there's a big hunk of nothing happening between the second and third game, Trials after Justice takes place between the two. The first part to the first case, Checkmate and Turnabout, is done, so I'll share that here. first some screen shots.

That should be good. Now for the game, if you wish to play it. You'll need PyWright to play the game. After you get the program, you'll need the game. DL the game and unzip it. Then, put the folder in the games folder of PyWright.

You can download PyWright Here: http://pywright.dawnsoft.org/
and you can Download the game here: http://www.mediafire.com/?1nyjmojrzji
Or you can DL the game through PyWright. When you launch the application, there should be a button that says DOWNLOAD GAMES. Just look for Checkmate and Turnabout and you should be able to play it without problems. I didn't make the program so please don't ask me about it.

The first case is a tutorial, in case you aren't familiar with the Ace Attorney series. You'll be playing as Maya, as she defends a painter. I've made the original sprites from scratch, so you'll be getting your moneys worth (Free moneyz, that is.). The B/W pictures you'll see in the games were made by artists from Deviant Art. So, yeah, I did put some money into this project. But I'll do anything to guarantee, player satisfaction. Enjoy the first part of the case. The second part should be out after new years. Enjoy~

Wow, this is really good! It's the best fan-made case I've played! PLEASE keep up the good work!

Thank you. The next part of the case should be out sometime during or afer January. It's taking awhile, but I think I've found a faster solution to getting these cases out.

It's really nice, good job man!
But hmm, I'd suggest you polish a bit more your custom-made sprites. They seem quite out-of-style. The old man's shading is weird. And as for Maya, her face needs a bit of tweaking.

Her face needs redoing, period. As for the other guy, primarily his face, but reshading all of him will do a lot of good. Infact, try redoing his face.

Well, trust me, I haven't seen any real "official-looking" fan made sprites. Trust me, this is one of the best and longest fan made cases I've seen so far.

I found it over here (http://forums.court-records.net/sprites/ace-attorney-investigations-forward-sprites-t15743-120.html).

And read my post again. It was about the sprites.

I DID say something about the sprites, but btw, I'm just saying, it's not easy to make good looking sprites, so those are pretty good for now.

That's an Edit... You trying to make fun of me!? Eh? EH!?

And it aint a very good one to make an example of. You can still see hints of orange from Larry Butz' sprite, which the body is taken from. The head is from an Profile pic of one of the new characters from Investigations. The fur going down from his jacket has no detail. And what is he a woman!? He's wearing his under shirt wrong! And there's no dragon on his sleeve.

Yeah, Laugh, Shi. Laugh!

Guys, relax. You all have a valid point in here.

While Ryu's example IS an edit, you have to remember that you are making a fan-game, based on a PREEXISTING style. That means being able to follow the style as closely as you can is a good idea. It makes the illusion that much more believable.

I also need to state that Ryu never said anything to openly insult you. This site and its user's abilities were founded on the idea of constructive criticism. An inflexible, unable to roll with criticism does not a good spriter make. Why do you think game companies hire beta testers? Because they want to develop a game that players would enjoy and approve.

Also, watch out for people who are very crazy about your work and can say nothing bad about it. They tend to be yes-men and cannot help you improve very well. ;>_> Look for people who HAVE a problem with your work, may it be small or large, and see what you may be able to do to let them enjoy it as well.

Silent bob, that edit is still better than some of yours, no offense. :P

And that remark was still better left unsaid. Seriously, you aren't setting a good example.

Lern

I didnt put up that example. I just said that he shouldn't laugh at an edit like that in his case.

No Worries. I suppose some people don't read the way I write in other forums, so you can't tell I'm being playful with the first sentence. (The smileys here suck)

Though Ryu used an edit of Shi Long to compare with my scratch style, It's still not an impressive show, since I've seen better examples. A Moderator at Court Records, Ceres, has VERY well made Edited Sprites, and he's had his hand in some customs, that I think look good. Though I have pointed out problems with his sprites, when others haven't. So yes, I know what what yes-men are and I ignore those types.

And don't worry, I know all about constructive criticism. You're not telling me anything I don't know. (don't let the low post count fool you) I've chewed out alot of people with their edits, and have had nasty bites come from them with poor excuses. They end up wrong in the end.

I did hire some forumers at CR to Beta test the game first before I put it out. I took what they said and applied it to the first Chapter of the game. We're all Acre Attorney fanatics, so I say it turned out the way I wanted. And if people say it 's just like the actual game, then that's what I wanted to hear, because that's what I was shooting for.

And no lern, that edit isn't very good. At least I think so. It's cheapening to see an edit with pre-existing sprites applied to it. When it comes to Ace Attorney sprites, I can never except Frankenstein compiled works. It's never sat well with. But, if you think it looks better... well... Good... for you. That's great! I guess... (smileys here, suck!)

Wow, did I cause some commotion?
You guys are funny, seriously. Just by reading his 'angry comment', it was obvious that he was joking. It made it even more obvious when I read that last post.

Also, pardon my ignorance. I did not know that it was a pre-existing sprite, I've got my part of wrong. But that doesn't change the fact that you might want to revamp your custom sprites a bit. But hum, it seems I hadn't seen a few updates (that's considering the fact that I need to 'lurk moar')
Here it is: http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll193/aiaagame/roufront.png (taken from here http://forums.court-records.net/sprites/ace-attorney-investigations-forward-sprites-t15743-320.html)

Reading your posts, it feels like you know what you're doing. It's good.

@lern: That last comment was fucking childish, I'm disappointed bro. You clearly wanted to offend him, I don't care all that much. But meaningless arguments (and counter arguments, indeed) are not worth it.

EDIT:

I had forgotten why it all started.
Well, trust me, I haven't seen any real "official-looking" fan made sprites. Trust me, this is one of the best and longest fan made cases I've seen so far.

Tayo-sama, you've made a point.

Well, Shiz-nit... (Who says that anyway...?)
Howdy folks, SilentBobX here. I haven't really been here in long time, so I just wanted to drop off a link to the game I've been continuing making.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/SilentBobX/Art%20pics/Other/NotOfficialAd.png
And can't remember what you've all played last, but I'm sure you only played the very first part of the first case. Since then, I've gotten Checkmate and Turnabout done, and had just recently finished the second case "High School Turnabout". (Why does that sound like a Broadway show!? :mega-ill: ) So anyway here are the links to the program you'll need to play the game with (It's been updated since then.)
http://pywright.dawnsoft.org/wordpress/downloads/
and the game itself:
http://www.mediafire.com/?340c43112s2i4t1
But man, seeing some of my old sprites and looking at the new ones in the game now really takes me back. You'll notice in the end there's a character that looks somewhat better then all the others I've made. That's actually because I haven't been up to spriting as much as I would like to nowadays. The newer character was drawn for me by an artist on DA. I took those drawings from her, re-sized them, edited them, and made them into sprites. I was told this is how the Artists of Capcom do their Ace Attorney sprites. I'm dumb though so I never knew that.:mega-derp:
Anyway, if you folks are still interested in solving mystery's in a blue suit, then I'm still here to try and feed your need. (Even though we should have Investigations 2 by now...):mega-frown: There's about 7 + hours worth of gameplay, so you'll have alot to do.
Enjoy the game. I'm working hard on getting the third case out so stay tuned.
