Well, Heat Team Pro (One of my teams) has been working on this game for a little more then a year now, and since we're comming close to releasing the 2nd demo, I thought I'd start a thread here about it.
First of all, unless you're a Mugen programmer, we don't need or really want your help. And even then, we don't currently need a 3rd programmer.
Second, if you think you've got a good enough character to be in the game, submit him via PM to me. DO NOT post a character submission in this thread. There is absolutly no guarentee that your character gets accepted.
Anyhow, this is a Megaman X fighting game made in the Mugen engine. Mugen is a fighting game engine that lets you put in characters from any game or of your own creation. I'm not going to say the story just yet, partly because I still have to finalize it, but also partly becasue I'd want people to see it in the opening.
We've got a lot of things planned for this game too, and this demo will only include a few of them. We plan to have a roster of about 16 characters, interactive levels, bonus stages, secret characters, special boss characters, and even a sidescrolling level or two. In this comming demo, we'll have maybe 1 or 2 interactive levels. 3 if we really push.
As far as play is concerned, there's gaurd breaks, super moves, team modes, and survival modes. (Even in Co op, but it's not online.) Eventually, we'll probably add some kind of "team-move" were you do a super move and your buddy does one too.
Really, I don't know why people put the Mugen engine down so much, it's quite good if you've got talented programmers.

Whew, lot of screen shots. So, when the demo is released on the 20th, you'll be able to be 7 characters. Zero, Kuroberto, Delta, Fusion, Reaver, Glide, and Atomic Butterfly. Each character has their own unique ablities and moves. Also, I didn't make all of them. :P In fact, I only made Kuroberto's sprites and helped make some others. I edited Zero's sprites, and Hypershell made a good amount of poses for him too. Even then, by the time we get to the point were I can call this a game, Kuro's sheet will be redone, along with some others I'd guess. (Kuro's sheet is at least 2 or more years old...)
Hmm, and I guess that's it for now. We'll keep you updated with screen shots and information as the game gets done. But it will be released on the 20th of July.

That... Is... AWSOME!!!!! That games probibly gonna be HUGE! Anyway, this is my first post, but I don't like introductions much, and I even less need them, lol. I've been coming here for years, I just never joined the forum. Anyway, I'll see what I can do to give you more Sprites for your game, because I like drawing In Paint. I'll make some COOL enemies and characters for ya! Good Luck with your game! You should make more after that one, and hopefully I can help make some more characters, but I have to practice! I'm gonna get to work right now! See Yah!

Looks pretty sweet. Do you think you could give a rough estimate as to how many canon characters will be in the game?
Wow... This looks really good. I don' know how well known the fighting game Inuyasha: Feudal Fairy Tale is, but in that, the team move consisted of your teammate coming in and special attacking the enemy, leaving them stunned, letting you beat them down for around 5 seconds. Just somethng to consider.

My first concern with this is, is the MugenXP patch applied? Because if it isn't the majority of people here won't be able to play it, I've worked with MUGEN several times before on random Occasions, So my question is, should we PM you sheet or the .air/.act files etc.? Im assuming the sheet, and I take it you would prefer them to be Rockman X style or Rockman Zero?

Well, I'll try to awnser the questions asked...

The team moves could be any thing from you both do a your supermove to you do a unique supermove together.
I'm not going to post the 1st demo becasue it's glitchy and buggy since we had to rush becasue the programmer was going to Jamacia on vaction. :P But, feel free to look around my BnG game thread to find it. There's more screens there too.
Yes, you can play this game on windows, I myself have an XP and I just played it. :P If you submitt a character, they must be in MMX PSX style. (MMX4, MMX5, MMX6...) MMZ style won't work, and will clash. Just send me the sheet, becasue we have a commons file that we'll wind up useing for some things... not to mention that we'll need to customly program in the character to make sure he works with all of the features in the game.
Anyhow, the demo is well on it's way to being done, the interactive levels are programmed in, really, all that's left are the alternate colors and some character moves... You'll get the demo either way on the 20th though.

So I was being a creeper and... Found the 1st demo. My question is though, how do you make it run? It's a bunch of folders and I cannot for the life of me find the stupid Demo. I'm looking through readme's, all the folders, leemes, and I cannot find this stupid game!
And my question is... How do I open it? It's all extracted but its just folders.

That doesn't seem like blackbeltdude. I know he has a reasonable explaination since he always does. Either PM him or just relax.
He rarely (when i say rarely, it is really rarely) scrap a project. Maybe they are in the extremely final stages of developement or he has life problems like exams?
Yeah, that's probably it, or he just started school or a job or something.
Off the books, I like how this site refers to school related things as "life problems".

Jeje, no I didn't misunderstand. What I meant is that since that you use that program you know what it needs and what looks good. And I said "I'd be honored" as conditional (as in "I'd be honored if you decided to use it").

This demo has taken a really long time to finish, and we've had some bumps along the way, but it's done. And in the end, I think it's much better than I thought it would be.
Inch deserves some really big thanks, he stayed up ALL night to finish the demo! I hope everyone thanks him!
In this demo, you've got:
-7 Playable Characters
-5 Stages
-1 Interactive Stage
-Gaurd Breaks
Also, you can do all the coop modes! Due to the engine however, second player must select the mode. But you can play them!
Ah, and be sure that once you beat the game, you keep watching the credits! Doing so will show you some future characters in comming demos!
About the characters:
Kuroberto:
-Uses his hands and feet to attack

Too bad I can't figure out all of the combos. And so far I'm only "good" with Zero.
It's pretty good but judging from the credits you dropped Marino and Massimo from the roster. And that makes me sad. Oh well, Reaver is my best char.

I didn't drop them, but since they only have singal standing sprites, and not animations, I decided to leave them out of the previews. :P
THey'll probably show up in a 4th demo, along with more bonuses and stuff.

Love it. I found Zero the easist to use, and the funest out of the ones I've tried so far. One question: How do you guard?
You press the backwards while the opponant is attacking.

Darn you, BBD. :P I can't figure out how to do any of those fancy Giga Attacks.
Anyway, this game is pretty friggin awesome. I haven't managed to beat it yet (dumb ole Atomic Butterfly and healing abilities...), but it is a lot of fun.
It did glitch once, though. I was Zero beatin on one of the other guys (I think it was Fusion, but I have a bad memory). Anyway, I did that uppercut thingy, and the other guy was pushed up and started standing on air instead of ground. He stayed up there until I killed him.
BTW, what's up with Zero and the blue saber? Is X gonna be using the green one when he's implemented?
Yeah, that happened to me, too. I just exploited the hell out of it, though.
Ok, I've beat it with Zero now. The upcoming character roster looks really good. And it's good to see X in his Command Mission armor as well.
Every now and then during gameplay the character I'm fighting's health bar is blank, and yet I can't get them to die. As in, they're not blocking, but they're certainly not taking damage either. After a while the damage kicks back in and I'm able to hurt them again. *shrug* I'm sure you'll get that fixed soon enough.
I don't mean to sound like I'm picking the game apart. Just trying to be helpful. This really is a really fun game and I can't wait to see more.
EDIT: Welp, I beat it with teams now. This game is so much fun. Anyway, couple more things I thought I'd point out.
1. In survival mode, as Zero, I beat the other guy and went back up to full health. After my HP was replenished, it sent me to another level. (I was set to random stage.)
2. Reaver O. is incredibly easy to spam the buster with. If you just keep spamming his buster, you can beat the battle without getting touched.
I am really looking forward to seeing X and Omega Zero put in.
In your old game, you have so maky files I don't know which one executes the game.

Wow...that's the most fun fan game I've ever played. Zero is my specialty, and so is Herobuto. A few things:
-Herobuto sometimes can float in the air.
-This game owns.
It will truly make my day when the next demo comes around.

Well, Inch and I are glad you guys like the game!
We've heard about the floating glitch, so, we'll try to fix it.
We'll also try to make Reaver's shooting less cheep.
And AB's healing won't be used so often too.
Zero's got a blue saber because I like blue. :P Plus, I wanted him to be a bit differnt.
I don't have plans to give X a saber, but, I might change my mind... if I do, it'll be green, and pretty weak.
Never heard about that health glitch Gridman, but we'll look into it. (And I don't mind if you give critisum. :P)
Megajosh, just open the file called, "winmugen."

And I don't really plan on putting Double in since I don't feel like making more moves for him. :P

And in the next demo, there's going to be one boss, Omega Zero. But, we're going to try something a little diffrent... we decided we're going to try action triggers in the final moments of the fight! But, it'll depend on your character. For example, fighting Omega Zero with Zero will get you the action trigger, Kuro vs OZ won't trigger it. (Though, Kuro won't usally fight OZ- he'll fight Badland instead in the final game... Only Zero will fight OZ in the final game.)

A Button: Zero shoots a buster shot. If your timing is correct and you hit the right/left key at the same time, Zero will shoot a powerful triple shot.
S Button: Zero performs a triple slash if the button is pressed quickly, although the third slash will most likely be blocked by opponents. You can perform a duck slash with this, and can rapid-fire your saber while airborne. If your timing is correct, you can link this button's ground saber combo with the D button's combo and produce a guard-breaking seven slash combo.
D Button: Zero can perform a quaduple (4) slash combo if the button is pressed quickly. If you double jump and slash while flipping in the air, he'll execute a rolling slash until he hits the ground. If, in mid-air, you hold the down key and slash, Zero will perform a downward stab slash that causes some devasating damage to foes. You can slash while dashing, too. To my knowledge, you can perform an upward rising slash, but I don't know how yet.

I already did the triple shot but it doesn't always work...
it's like (back down foward shoot)
And that charge saber smash... I don't have a clue of how I did...
I tried it many times in training mode & it works 1/2 of the time...
Reaver - While airborne, press ASD↓

I found it works best if you just mash buttons. XD

Ya I know the moves I just only use a couple with certain people and if I like all the moves of one person ie. Nightmare & seigfried I just mash buttons.

Invisible Shock (Reaver) = Down+Forward+s
Whiplash Cannon (Reaver)= Down+Forward+d
Since I don't know the names of these attacks, I'm making some up.

Heh, I think the strongest characters to pick from right now are Zero, Delta, Kuro, and Reaver. Though, Atomic Butterfly can also be pretty good if you know how to abuse her abilities. :P (Glide and Fusion still need more work.)
You guys were talking about Kuro and Reaver before... Well, they're pretty similer in some ways, and diffrent in others. THey're both pretty fast, and can chain combos (though Kuro can chain more). However, Reaver's moves are usally harder to preform, and Kuro has less moves that suck up super energy. (But, Reaver also has some pretty powerful super moves... the most in the game right now.)
Neither is actually better than the other, since thier playing styles are pretty diffrent, so it's up to you guys as to who's best.
Also, a good way to at least see some of the moves the characters have is to play watch mode, and see what happens. :P
And for future posts, please post more than 5 words. :P

Hmm, this game might be "done" in about 2 years... maybe 3 since there's a lot I want to do that could take a while. (Sidescrolling stages, animated intro...) Hard to say really. :P Though, realilistically, you can expect the next demo out around summer.

After mashing some buttons, I learned that by pressing down, and then pressing foward+A on Zero will do a powered up buster attack that can hit two times by pressing the A button right after the initial combo. By pressing down and then forward+D, Zero will do an uppercut, the most classic Zero move.
After trying some of Zero's combos with Reaver I found out that if you push back, down, forward fire, Reaver will shoot a barrage of shots at you'r opponent.

In general, there's some combos you can do that work with everyone. QCF and some key usally do something for everyone.
Though, out of every character, Reaver's moves are the most complex to figure out. (Atomic Butterfly has one or two as well.)

Anyways, here's a strategy for Zero and Delta on team modes:
Have Delta on one side of the opponent, and Zero on the other. Have Delta use his blue flamethrower thing, have Zero continously use his saber, and voila! Easy kill!

Anyways, on topic, I can only find one error with the game.. Whenever you attack your opponent with a melee weapon, you move back a little, which changes it so, basically, the amount of damage you can do is decided by how close you are to/far away you are from your opponent. To make it worse, this doesn't seem to apply to CPU-controlled enemies. :g-twitch:

And moving back when you hit things is a bit of a safe gaurd from being cheep, but we could probably change it so you don't with sabers or something. In theory though, when you hit something, you or it has to move from recoil.

Also, there's some other news too. Fusion, will be taken out of the game, due to the fact his creator is busy with life, and says he can't finish his sheet. (And I'm not picking up the pieces like I did that last 2 times.) So, unfortunitly, Fusion will no longer be in the game. I plan on replacing Fusion with a more unique character. (Probably a female squirrle character me and my brother talked about once. :P) Anyone can still submitt their character though.
Also, we might look into voice acting for some of the characters. (Even though in most cases the creators will do that themselves.)
And with that, the 22XXGT project is being worked on again, and a demo will probably be out in either late sprite or mid summer. (Maybe early fall if some hang ups happen.)

No you can't, because I'm doing it. :P Plus, I'm not asking for helpers when it comes to anything. You can submitt your own characters though, and maybe get them in the game, but other than that, I'll ask people directly for help when I want it.

Well, if you want a character in the game, you need to get his design, and concept/gimmick approved by me. (That way, you won't spend a few weeks making the sheet when the character might not get approved.)
Anyhow, the new demo is making some progress! In fact, here's some screen shots of the beta Counter Attack system!

Kuro shows up behind the opponet, elbows him in the back, and uppercuts up stright up!
Of course, like I said, these are just beta Counter Attacks, therfor they'll probably change. Not to mention, more work needs to be done to them. Such as an attack prompt, character sprite effects, and background effects. So yeah, more work needs to be done, but I so far the basic mechanic is worked out.
Also, the redesign of Glide has been done, and an early design of "the squrrle reploid" has also been done. Though, I'm not going to show those just yet... maybe when I make the ready stance animations I will.
So, progress is being made, but not too rapidly unfortunetly.
I donwloaded the game but I can't make it to work. Actually none of the mugen games I downloaded work. Do I need something in particular to do it?

Hmm, if you've got a windows XP, it should work...
If you're running a Mac, or Linux you'll need to track down those versions of Mugen. (They're out there.) All you'd need to do then is drag it to were the other EXE file is, and open it.
Though, make sure you're opening winmugen.exe if you've got an XP!

This is a video of Kuroberto's better AI system I made (RV0 = me Kuroberto = CPU), I made it as hard as I possibly could, so kinda go easy on the comments, AI is something totally new to me :P, oh and near the end is a little example of the counter attack thingy.
So far the only AIs I have done is Zero's, Kuro's and Delta's.

When you kick/Punch(i dont remember which) with kuroberta repeatedly NON STOP, you are invincible. if you continue clicking, it cant be evaded unless using kuroberta VS kuroberta and kicking the repeater. jump over it, and then do the same. Yeah, you big cheater!

Haha, yeah, I've seen those moves of Reaver's. And that reminds me of a bug; in training mode if you keep doing the dash attack thing over and over again Reaver gets higher and higher above the ground and won't come down until you jump! :D I got him high enough once that I could actually walk the other character underneath him no trouble. But I think it's only in training mode because obviously in normal mode you can't just keep doing it over and over again.
I actually found a really good one for Atomic Butterfly a while back, where she gets down on the ground and fires this huge laser thing that does 40 hits. But do you think I can remember how to do it? :p

Roar 'n' Stuff: If ya don't wanna be cheep, don't play cheaply. :P Besides, Kuro's AI isn't set up to do that anyhow. Even then, the counter system we're putting in will punish you pretty bad if you do that... Also, we're not really god modding in this game, since each character can do some amazing things. (Go find all of Delta's moves, or find Zero's Charged Saber move.)
As for Reaver's weapon... well, Reaver didn't even know it was a yo yo. :P It's really more like raw energy he's attacking with, but a yo yo is a cool idea.
Grid Man: Just look for were it says, "free" and you'll manage I think.
PlasmaMan: Zero's weird slow attack is going to be tweaked, I can promise you that. I don't like it all that much either, so we'll change it in the next demo.
The Gretin: I've never found that glitch before... we'll look into it, thanks! In general, there's bound to be a glitch when a character leaves the ground due to a command other than jump... it'll be fixed though.
Roar 'n' Stuff: Of course I know how to use it. :P doesn't mean I'll tell you, but I know how to use it. (and yes, it's the one Plasma man was talking about.)

Unfortunately, neither Inch or I have the 2nd demo, so we can't re-upload it. (We just have the 2.5 demo.) So, if anyone here has that demo, please feel free to upload it somewhere.
Anyhow, we're trying to get the 3rd demo ready for August 31, and so far we're moving along alright. X is probably about half way done, and Inch started programming Omega Zero yesterday. Fusion SHOULD also be reworking Fusion, and Reaver SHOULD be working on Merton... and Wornex should also be working on Wornex. Hopefully we'll have at least 4 characters to add in the 3rd demo.
So, here's a few screen shots until we get another video up. (Because just showing X doesn't do him justice).

It was actually on Kung Fu Man's site for a while... I think it was Random Select if I recall. But last I checked, that site was down.

Thats actually apart of the Mugen engine hehe. Just avoid using it. F2 - 4 also have functions to them aswell.

And as Legendary Hoamaru said, the function keys and even the space bar are just functions of the engine. But, so you don't cheat your way to the credits, we're going to disable them. :P

Heh, looks like you guys will be in for some surprises when the demo is out. For instance, we plan on "locking" the game so you can't access the system files. ;) This is partly because it'll stop people from using the characters in the MUGEN engine that we wouldn't want them to use. (So, I might not want people to use Kuro, and Seven might not want people to use Delta for example).
Plus, it'll keep people from playing as Omega Zero. XD
Though, it is possible that we'll release HTP versions of characters to the general public. (That would include X, Zero, or Axl... etc).
But, if someone wanted a version of the game they could alter, like swapping music, it's possible we'll release a version where you could do that.
We've also reworked some stuff on X, and he's nearly done! (Technically he is for now, but we still need to add some more moves...) Also, we've got to balance out his normal shots a bit better, otherwise he'll be completely cheap. :P

We're pretty much on track... X is done, Vainstar, Omega Zero are done... and Axl is nearly done, and Wornex is about "half" done. :P We've also got a handful of new stages, and we started to remake some of them to some extent...
Oh, and we're kinda adding a move list this time... let's just say the training room will be a good place to learn moves.
Honestly, I can't say for sure that we'll get the demo out by the 31st, but we're going to try our hardest. If it's not out then, it SHOULD be out the fallowing week.

One thing I noticed, and I have no clue if it has been said before, but what about effects when blocking? From the videos, it seems that, when you get hit while you block, nothing happens. It looks both strange and boring, actually. Implementing a couple of special effects in there, likewise to when you normally hit someone, might actually spice it up big time.
[edit] Oh, and a 'TING' sound when the attack hits the blocker, of course.
You need winMUGEN. Unless if you don't run Windows, but Mugen doesnt work with others except Linux.
Watching the video makes me want to lynch you even more for not releasing it now. >.<

We're working on the demo. :P I'm sure it'll be out this month.
Also, when you download the demo from us, you'll be downloading a MUGEN engine too. (It's winMUGEN, so that shouldn't be a problem for most people here).
As for blocking, when I made the effects for this demo, I also made some blocking effects. ;) Dunno if I wanna use the "ting" sound though... might use it for something else anyhow.

Thanks. The Sprite design was by Robert Oakes, who made his X sprites PD. Then I made a sheet out of them. :P I used Seven's PD pose of X in that dynamic pose, then changed the design to his CM armor. The Credits should cover everyone's contributions to X though. (Who's sheet is also PD, and I'll post it the same day we post the demo).
X charging pose seems very special. I seem to remember seeing it somewhere before. A rough pose, not the one in the video.

This game is probably the best fighting game I've ever played, even if it's probably just because it has Zero in it :P
There are a few problems though:
One thing is Reaver. I hate this guy. He's a freaking godmoder. I mean, his S-attack is waaay overpowered. It has too much range and is too fast. Trying to fight him with mele-weapons is like trying to fight MMZX-Omega with melee-weapons - before you can even get close enough, he owns your sorry Repliroid butt.
Also, Zero's charged slash is pretty much useless, as his opponent ALWAYS blocks it. Except in the training mode, I never managed to hit someone with it.
Now for the more trivial problems:
Delta has a few little bugs. One of them is that whenever you shoot while falling, your fall slows down a bit. Another thing is less a bug than a graphical issue: When the first slash ends, the blade he uses in the second one appears on his right hand for a frame, even if you don't/can't do a second slash, meaning that it flashes there for a single frame, which looks a bit odd. Another more serious thing is that if Delta stands RIGHT next to someone(as close as possible), and then stabs, his stab doesn't even touch his opponent.
Reaver has also a little graphical bug:
After doing the attack where he dives down and creates explosions, if you move as soon as possible(or jump), the explosions will move with you.
...As does Atomic Butterfly:
When pressing A in mid-air, but relatively close to the ground, the butterflies appear out of nothing instead of from the top of the screen.
One last little graphical bug is in the desert stage: The blue energy bars(shield bars?) at the top of the screen are above the white clouds, meaning that the life- and weapon-energy- bars disappear behind the clouds, but the shield bars are still visible.
That's all I can see right now... Great work otherwise.
Actually, the thing is, I don't know any combo at all, except for Kuberuto's, which I have the sheet of his attacks with the combos on it. >.>

He's right, Zero shoots two bad ass shots, and then with anoth combination, he shoots a third even more bad ass shot.
I did it once, But I forgot how.
EDIT: Here's the controls how to do the Double bad ass shot.
(opposite direction of target)(down)(direction of target)(Buster)[one bad ass shot](Buster)[two] And if you try to do this rapidly/repeatedly, sooner or later, a giga third shot will blast the shit out of your enemy.

Reaver should be more balanced in this coming demo... but I've never had problems beating him with Kuro. :P
Zero's charged slash is great, and it's perfect on Zero. It's pretty easy to break guards with Zero's slashes, and once you do, they're wide open for that move.
Delta's problems should be fixed this coming demo. So should everyone else's.
As for the shield bars, I'm really not sure if we CAN fix that, but if we can, we will. It's bugged me a bit too, but it's not a huge deal.
BTW, Ricky, were did you find Kuro's sheet? :P Also, what's "rest mode?" Either way, he's getting new sprites.
Kuro's level three super, (which I sorta dubbed the, "Shinkuu Hadouryuken") does use that key combo. You just have to do it FAST.

XD Well, we want it to be kinda like a cross between a PSX X game and Street Fighter. Hopefully the next demo will show that more.
If I recall correctly, AB used Phantom as a base for jumping. (Rizzt made her). But, I think it works out. Really, not all females have big bulky legs. Just look at Marino.
BTW, I hope you had fun looking through the files to find the moves, cause it won't work in this coming demo. :P We're gonna set this up so that the game launches itself when you double click an EXE. Meaning no files can be looked at, or taken out. (Or added).
You guys seemed to have figured out Zero's double and triple shots though. They're pretty easy to do without fail once you know how they work.

That's a new character, Vainstar! In a new stage, "The Grand Tournament Ring!"
Vainstar uses cyber attacks to fight. We'll reveal more as he gets finished.
As you can see, there's a few cameo's in the background. There's a handful from Ramzal (Most of which I don't know the names of), Grid from Grid, Anode from Azanode, Storen from Erk Mage of Flames, a PD fat reploid from Oakes, a PD biker reploid from Commando Joe, and then some sprites I threw together. I don't think I'll be asking for background cameos again, but who knows, maybe I will.
And the theme for this level is from the ring from Final Fight. :P

Anyhow, the combos have already been posted, you just have to do them fast enough. Experiment, and you'll find out how to do Zero's Z combo easily. (HINT: To do a triple slash in X3, what did you have to do?)

The right timing is very important. Which is sort of annoying if there's a critical moment and your timing is offf by barely a frame and then you don't execute your attack...
The most irritating thing is... the unforgiving EXACT timing combo. >.>

I think ZV has 3 people: Reaver, Vainstar, and Fusion. I guess Worenx counts as SI. Then Kuro, Delta, Glide, and Atomic Butterfly would be from BnG. Zero, X, and Axl are from Capcom... Well, actually, Oakes did the sprite design for X, and I sheeted him, and I designed and sheeted Axl... And Hypershell did a load of sprites for Zero. (I did a few too, but Hypershell was more involved). Hypershell sorta designed Omega Zero, and since Oakes had an X1 sheet of Zero laying around I was able to use that... But I did most of the poses on that sheet, it's huge really.
Ahem, but yeah, anyone here can still submit a character. :P

Doesn't seem like I have to remark on any comments or questions this time. :P
Anyhow, we're still working on the game. We'd love to say that it'll be out the end of this month, but, probably not. :P We'll see. We've actually been doing a lot of work. Fusion is now a lot more fun to play as, and isn't lame anymore. :P Zero has some new moves and animations, and even Kuro has a few new moves... Really, everyone is being tweaked, and eventually, we'll have a little trailer to show everyone.

It's a cage match! This is Worenx's stage, and when you play against him, or with him in the stage, he'll be able to jump on the cage. (Like Vega/Balrog from Street Fighter).
You might also notice Kuro can now do his tatsumakisenpuukyaku in the air! He's also got a Shinkuu tatsumakisenpuukyaku.
I should also mention that Inch has given Zero and Kuro some really good AI now. (Everyone will get better AI). The fights are definitely tougher now.
Once Vainstar is finished, we should have another video to show.

Nah, he won't. In this stage he'll jump on the back wall, in any other stage, he'll jump on the sides of the stage. You could say that the back wall makes him invulnerable from any attack, but the trade off would be that you know what move he makes from that point. It shouldn't be hard to counter.
As for the story... well, it'll probably barely be there. :P There's a very small story, and even then, it'll be mentioned at the end. (Possibly at the very beginning too). And it's also possible we'll have something in VS screens and intros to the fight.
The weird thing is, you're the second person to ask if Gate would be in the game. :P I find it odd how people want to see Gate show up. If someone made Gate a good looking sheet with interesting enough attacks, he could get in... otherwise I'm not doing it. :P
I have thought of a way for old characters to show up, and not break the continuity anymore than Omega Zero has. (I won't tell, but I've got a solution. :P)
But yeah, you'll see more plot-relevant X-series characters. I know I've already said Marino, Massimo and Axl would be in. (Axl will be in this demo). But I've got a few others who will show up somehow, and even one that's pretty obscure.
I'd like to see more animal reploids in the game too. :P Frankly though, I already have a lot of characters to sheet. (At least 5 full sheets, if not more). If someone wanted to make an animal character and submit them, I'd be happy to accept them. (So long as they were well sprited, and had nice concepts). I only have 1 character in mind that isn't a humaniod, and even then, he's not really an animal either. :P (And I might not even make his sheet).

The weird thing is, you're the second person to ask if Gate would be in the game. :P I find it odd how people want to see Gate show up. If someone made Gate a good looking sheet with interesting enough attacks, he could get in... otherwise I'm not doing it. :P
I have thought of a way for old characters to show up, and not break the continuity anymore than Omega Zero has. (I won't tell, but I've got a solution. :P)
But yeah, you'll see more plot-relevant X-series characters. I know I've already said Marino, Massimo and Axl would be in. (Axl will be in this demo). But I've got a few others who will show up somehow, and even one that's pretty obscure.
I'd like to see more animal reploids in the game too. :P Frankly though, I already have a lot of characters to sheet. (At least 5 full sheets, if not more). If someone wanted to make an animal character and submit them, I'd be happy to accept them. (So long as they were well sprited, and had nice concepts). I only have 1 character in mind that isn't a humaniod, and even then, he's not really an animal either. :P (And I might not even make his sheet).
I still want Dynamo, Gate, Colonel, Signas and others ... I can make sprites of them. I'm good at X style. I'm sure I can help this game. I'm waiting for demo. Its still best megaman fighting game made for mugen.

Second, if you think you've got a good enough character to be in the game, submit him via PM to me. DO NOT post a character submission in this thread. There is absolutly no guarentee that your character gets accepted.

Been a while since the last time I posted some progress. :P
Anyhow, production of the demo is moving along. Vainstar is almost done, we've changed the title screen, and the character select screen, did a few more stages, and started on a few more characters.
In fact, take a look:

There's Axl and the NEW Glide! Right now, they're both pretty incomplete (Axl can run around and duck right now, and Glide can do even less). :P But their sheets are nearly done. I just need to finish Glide's slashes, and a few important animations of Axl's plus a handful of attacks.
We'll show you Vainstar's moves and some better AI in a video update. Maybe we'll even make the opponent Fusion so you can see how much better he is (Really, he's fun to play as, has more moves, and better AI). We'll probably also show the new title screen and select screen in that video too.
I still have no idea when the demo will be out, because Inch and I want to adjust some of the game play. We want to add more effects to just about every move, and make all of them a bit more unique. It might be out by the end of the year if Inch programs like a mad man, and I sit down and finish all the sprite work. :P The more support we have, the more we'll want to work on it.

Kidding aside, this game looks astounding! I've played the earlier demos, and even though I could only figure out a couple of combos, it was still an awesome adaptation of the MMX characters (custom characters included).
Ah, and Glide looks much cooler. :P

1) Alternate COLORS will eventually be something we do, but I don't think we'll make them unlockable. Profiles are something we could put at the end of the credits. We're pretty limited when it comes to secrets and unlockables, but we will try to do a few things like that.
