Now I'm sure people are going to wonder what exactly this means.
What it comes down to is recently, I went looking for Mugenized megaman characters and ran across a number of characters done up for the original project. After contacting one of the programmers for ZeroX*I'm sorry dude, I forgot the rest of the numbers*'s Model D(uo), I got to thinking about how easy it would be to continue it through theMugen community.
There's even one website dedicated mostly to Megaman Mugen characters that has done up a few of these designs. And the same programmer who's adapting Duo for me has entered his Model Te(nguman) to the project as well. So why am I posting without a demo? Because there are 99 pages to the original topic that I'm not really up to going through to track down the sprites.
So if you have a character who was to be in Model Royale, re-enter it here for examination and consideration. :) I've already pointed people at said community towards sovietcommando's PD thread and his permission to do so so far. I will send these the other community's way for possible recreation... Since I'm not doing the programming for the Mugen edition. I've got my big project with ZT to work on... but I will work to incorporate things otherwise. :)
As for proof this is being worked on... we go to youtube!
My video on the models I found at first.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JLMbKf9sCU
Bigshowfall's first video on the original Model D(uo) file he did.

Video of Bigshowfall's Model T(enguman)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELr9u189H40
Can't wait to find out what I've forgotten about for the project. :P It looks like right now we're probably going to go the route of Bigshowfall's Model Te(nguman) with two non-charged attacks and two charged attacks. Sort of like ZX, you usually have two weapons with the charged attacks. Might try to diversify it after that, waiting for his response on things.
-Edit-
Also, if you remember your character's story, throw it up there as well. So we can fix things to work together better and all.
Toast asked me to post this here because he's busy or something.
It's a demo for Model Royale in MUGEN.
It's not bad. The controls aren't standardized between characters yet, since they were programmed by different people, but that will be changed.

Although I had originally posted right after the thread opened up, I had to make remove it and make sure that the post wasn't in violation of any rules, due to the subject discussed briefly. Turns out it's okay, so I'm back with this:
Finally; I've been waiting for this topic to re-open. I'll re-submit Model Sx6 and a few other characters I can manage. But before that happens, I have rather an important question to ask you about this Mugen community of Megaman fans. On the fan site you mentioned, did you let them know that we're not giving away our sprites for their personal use?
I have to ask, because a long while back Zyros contacted me to tell me that someone on Youtube was using our models for Mugen and claiming them as his. Obviously, since it was off-site; nothing could be done.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM1bn...eature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM1bniozpe0&feature=related)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyiVR...eature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyiVRBJnveg&feature=related)

"I would like to alert you to the fact that the owner of this URL is claiming ownership of various creations from users of the website http://sprites-inc.co.uk/ . I am one such user. As theft leaves the jurisdiction of Sprites-Inc's staff outside of the site's server, I hope that you will enforce subsection 5B of the esnips Terms of Use. Naturally, I've gathered some specific examples of the original material for you to compare:"
Send that to esnips and attach related material as they see fit.
http://www.esnips.com/web/mymegamancreations I'm more than happy to submit my characters to Model Royale again, but I'd like to know that this Megaman Mugen community you speak of doesn't have the anyone who'd think it's okay to take sprites from several members here. Otherwise, why should we be submitting our sprites to a group that could take all the credit for it? All I really want to know from you before I resubmit my work, is if the people in this community have agreed not to claim our sprites. That's all.
Also, I don't want anyone to get the wrong ideas; I'm not bringing up this information to start a bunch of arguments or to get people angry towards the person who used our sprites. I'm just giving an example of what happened the last time I saw a Megaman fan use our sprites for his Mugen Project. Please don't think I'm trying to anger people, or turn this thread into a discussion about theft. As what BBD once said about a thread I started:You're not suppose to make threads about sprite theft. You're suppose to tell a staff member about it. Threads like this won't lead to anything productive.
Furthermore, from what I can tell on that guy's page, he said he'd stop using the stolen sprites. You guys should try to get him to remove any comics that use your characters though.
Either way, despite the fact that he used sprites from Sprites Inc members, this isn't a Sprites Inc problem. There isn't anything any of the moderating staff can do. What you need to do is talk to SheezyArt staff members about this problem. If this guy posted the comic here, we've got more we can do, but he's still hosted on SheezyArt, meaning it's still very much an issue you guys need to deal with there.
If you're not a member and he stole your sprites, then go sign up and become one.I only thought that this information was appropriate since now you want to make Model Royale in Mugen programming. How many people have you discussed the project with over there? And do they understand that we're not giving away non-PD sprites just because we want them to appear in this game?
If the people over there understand that our characters still belong to us, I have absolutely no problem giving out several of my own characters for this project, for any Megaman fan to fight as. It's just that the last time Sx6 was given into Model Royale, it ended up in some one else's Mugen without my permission.
(EDIT)- Also, some advice from BBD on this issue:I would also suggest you guys contact Inch, and ask him about options when it comes to locking the game, so no one can take the assets from it. Frankly, if you release a MUGEN game, and you don't lock it, you should expect the assets to find their way out of the game, and into the folders of anyone's MUGEN set up.I'm not quite sure who this Inch is, but I think locking Model Royale after it's finished (or even during development to be safe) is a great idea. I actually didn't know that was possible, but since it apparently is; we shouldn't be having anyone using non-PD sprites without our permission or knowledge of it. Thanks BBD.

Actually, it's a good thing you posted here Xterra. One of the programmers fixed up some of the work by the original guy to make the model for your shadow X. I'm pretty sure he will give credit to you for the designs though, they've been really good about that. I know a lot of people have been looking at PD threads for people, some of the designs so far were claimed PD. *Flame Stag and Axel The Red for examples*
I'll send him an pm about contacting you about it, the community's over here.
http://mugenbleach.ucoz.co.uk/
With the model royale thread here (Check it out too, it gives a standardized attack model for everyone's characters)
http://mugenbleach.ucoz.co.uk/forum/23-167-1
But I will contact him with proof of the sprites. Might be good to sign up so you guys can discuss how to go about things, I know he wouldn't just take them without permission if he knew they were yours. Though the hard thing might be that they're out there to begin with...
-EDIT-
And yeah, King Reaper said the same thing basically. We're going to lock the game in the next few demos and release the characters seperately that people want to be allowed for Public Domain use. Though if you've submitted something that you've already given as PD use here, I'd appreciate if the character had a public release. It's only fair to me, since part of what brought this project up is the fact Calamix created models of my characters, then made them private. *without letting me know because they were sprited by soviet commando* I do know though that a lot of people have been giving credit on youtube as well like Calamix.
-DOUBLE EDIT-
I need to find an easier way to lock it then what I've found, it'll cost me a hundred dollars for the software. x_x anyone able to suggest a good program for this?
Quoted from a thread in another forum.
There will be two attack buttons. One for standard attack and another for secondary.
You can tap either of these buttons to do a root combo (like Model ZX's triple slash), but the button doesn't need a root combo (like Model L's halberd). Some characters may also be able to do a combo by pressing Standard, secondary, standard(like model H's triple slash).
Both attack buttons can be modified in two ways. Holdind down the button will charge it up, allowing for a stronger version of the attack, and pressing the down arrow and the attack button will modify it in a different way (This can be charged as well). This makes for a total of eight possible attacks. You will be able to charge up one attack while using the other.
Characters should also be able to attack while dashing. Both the standard and secondary buttons will yield a different attack. This brings the number of possible attacks each characters can do up to ten, not counting supers.
Each character will also have a super attack available once their meter is full. This, of course, depends on the character, but I figure activation should be by charging and releasing both attack buttons at the same time.
Characters can also have a unique ability, like Tengu's flying.
I think Jump should be assigned to the up arrow key for simplicity's sake. Pressing back should, of course, be block. I also think that characters shouldn't be able to have their backs to the other character while standing still (I can understand it for when they're walking away from them, but when they stop, they should face their opponent.)
Maybe we could have jumped mapped to Up as well as being mapped to a different button the way it is now? Same with dash being mapped to a button and a double tap of one of the direction keys.
Some form of character artwork will probably be done eventually. For now, I suggest you just use the model's battle stance as their image.
Characters should also have a unique intro. Either a unique character performing megamerge, or some other intro.

New Version!
http://mmzt.sp-website.nl/MegamanZXModelRoyaleVers2.zip
Will post movesets later tonight. :D
My, it’s a good thing I’ve logged-in, for once…
Thank you for noticing me this thread, SmokedToast: seeing Model F(lame)S(tag) and Gimel getting their asses handed back to them made me smile :p
Just a note: while I assume it was only a place-holder, if you ever keep the forest stage shown in the first video, try to remove the big objects in the foreground, or at lest make them scroll… it’s frustrating not seeing the players half of the time.
Well, I don’t think I can contribute much: I haven’t sprited since... oh god …since exactly one year (my last edit on a sprite sheet goes back to the 10th of August 2008).
Although, if you ever want to use another of the models I made (B(lack)D(evil), G(ate)Z, V(ile)X), feel free to do so ; after all, they are all PD. I may even try to edit them to make them fulfil the needs of the game (and also make them slightly less ugly).
Anyway, I can only wish you good luck for this project ;)

Heh, what a delightful scent to catch a whiff of whilst arriving back at these forums. =D
A very promising-looking game that is showing good progress. It's the kind of thing that grabs me and thrusts me back into the fan world of Mega Man. I'm very impressed by this game so far.
My spriting abilities have honed over the last few years, so if there is a character I could contribute, I would be honored.
So with a smiley face, ^.^, I am done.

Well Razor, if you're interested... there's a few characters on page 41 of the custom sprites request thread that need expanded sheets. :)

Okay, I'll check it out.
After playing the game a bit more, I keep getting errors that end the game. Has this happened to anyone else?

Nice to see you back ST. And now that Model Royale is in MUGEN, it should be the way you intended it, as a fighting game.
If you're still interested, I'd like to submit model Hardman for this again. Though I may need to edit him a little bit.

Well that was fun.
I'm really looking forward to future editions. :p
Has this happened to anyone else?
Yeah, a few crashes every time I play the game.

I am still extremely ashamed of that model m.

The errors sometimes happen for me too. I'm not sure what it is other then maybe it being a faulty version of Mugen. I'll try to see if I can find a less buggy version to link it all to.
@Darx: Oh crap darx, sorry about that. XD I didn't notice your post before hand. We might end up using them, though I know there was a lot of talk about organizing things for the first game as well.
@Soviet: Glad you like man. :) from talking to king reaper, we've talked about using your Guardian models for non-playable enemy models under the usage of the 4 thieves from MMZXA.
@ZGM: Hmm, there might be a possible spot for a model hardman in it. :) let me talk with KR and plasmaman about what we're going to go for in terms of character groupings for the first version. *if there's an expanded version that is.*

Ah, are we not allowed to submit battle Reploid characters independent of Biometals? 6.6
EDIT: And smeg, I just remembered I have no idea how to program MUGEN characters. x.x
I'll try this version on another computer right now to see if the problem was me. Thanks for your effort to troubleshoot.

For the moment, no Razor, sorry. ^^; That was something we both decided we let get ahead of ourselves on the game maker version of the game... so we're focusing primarily on canon biometals this time. That being said, if a character can fill a nitch on later expansion versions... we might take it into consideration. :)
On the programming mugen characters, don't worry. That's what Bigshowfall and the other programmers on mugen bleach are doing to help out. :)

The second part of your post is so positive that it wipes out anything I felt badly about in the first part.
Designing MUGEN characters that get created for me has been a dream. I'll take a look at the character graphics that need expansion right now, then I would love to pitch a character to you ( thinking Bass. C: )
By the way, I tried putting my own MUGEN executable in the Model Royale file, and I still got a game-ending error. If this were fixed, I would be very happy face.
Just one more thing. When fighting opponents like Model M(agnet Man), it's very difficult to dodge their attacks because they're so...effectively fired. This may be asking too much, but if AI had more patterned behavior, the game would play more like the ZX games and would kick insurmountable ass.
I believe I have finally reached the end of this long wind....OHWAIT >.<
The music. Whenever I go to a stage that has music, it plays strangely. It's very jumbled, distorted, and separated. Again, I'm not sure if it's an error on my end or in the game itself, so I'll look into it further.
My fingers hurt now, so it's time to stop. Loving the game, peeps.

Alright. Either a PM or a post in here is fine for a reply whenever you get the chance.
