It's easy.
This is how I do it.
You open paint.
Take the pencil tool.
Start spriting.

all ya do if you'r stuck is take a sprite (from sprites inc.) and add whatever on to it and/or change its colours

How do you make a sprite? It's pretty simple.
You draw it.

Alrighty, since you all seem to have no ability to place yourself in the shoes of someone inexperienced, I'll have to. Look in my new thread (which is below this one, at the moment), which has a link to Gauntlet's tutorial. That should get you started.

Sometimes you may have to change the color of SOME things for them to match together though.

He meant don't just recolour.

Recolouring some things to make them fit is fine.
