View Full Version : Metroid Prime Trilogy

Looks like Nintendo's releasing a compilation of all three Metroid Prime games on one disc for the Wii. And all three will have the control scheme from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, plus widescreen support and some extra enhancements.
This is cool. I wonder if they'll add an online version of Echoes's multiplayer mode.

Now, what if someone wants to play with a Gamecube control? I don't see why they can't keep the old control scheme as well, I mean it can't be that hard.
I've been rather disenchanted with the Wii as of late, mostly because of the motion controls. Nintendo should have kept it in development another year or so, to get the controls right. As it stands, they're either too sensitive or unresponsive, being only rarely within the bounds of working well.
...Crud. Ignore the relatively off-topic rant please.
Anyway, I found MP3 an enjoyable experience, but I do prefer the Gamecube controls over the Wii's. Overall, I'm not really excited about it.

Then you get the original versions of MP 1 and 2.
And hey, at least the Wii controls let you move and aim at the same time.

The only boss that moving and aiming could possibly help with is Dark Samus final in 2, and that wasn't even a hard fight.
Well, I think it's KIND OF a good idea that they're doing this. Doing a sort of a collection disk with all three metroid games makes me remember the collection disk they did fo the Legend of Zelda series. I do think that having a different control sceme set up for the wii because, this games IS going to be a wii game is a pretty good idea but, wheather this concept will stay is up to the developers. And you have to remember guys that, this was JUST anounced so, the might do a few changes with the controls so they're compatible with the classic controler.
Now for what I ment I KINDA liked the idea. When I ment that, what I was trying to say is that for those that DON'T have all three games it's a good idea. But, for people like me, who have all three of the games somewhere in their house, IMO it's just a waste of money. Just like the collectors disk for the Legend of Zelda. It's good for those that don't have all the games, but not so for those that're avid Legend of Zelda fans. I'm not saying the idea for a collectors disk for Metroid prime is all that bad, I think it's a good idea but, I REALLY don't think I'll be going out and buy it any time soon. The reason why is because, I already have ALL THREE metroid prime games in my house.

Yeah, but with this compilation, you'll be able to play the first two games with Wii controls. There are a few other enhancements, but that's the big selling point here.

Yay, I don't have to get MP2 and 3. I can just get them all in one. Neato.

I'm actually interested in this, since I do have the gamecube versions of 1 and 2. I actually enjoyed 3, although I am concerned about the beams and visor selection with the Wii. I hope they keep the multiplayer from 2 intact.
What. (http://coffeewithgames.blogspot.com/2010/01/metroid-prime-trilogy-no-longer-being.html)
Metroid Prime Trilogy is apparently being discontinued! And Nintendo isn't saying why!
If you haven't gotten it yet, you better buy it quick, while you still can.
What.
I planned on getting it for my birthday, but eff.
I'm gonna go and try get it ASAP.
Glad I already have mine.

s***. Now the price just went up. This ALWAYS causes the price to jump up.
Shame too, as I have no money to spend. I suppose once I figure out how to play full Wii games on my HBC wii I'll be able to finally enjoy this title.
*sigh*
(oh, by the way, did they stop making Prime 3 corruption games? if so this would make more sense. if not, then I head-desk)
Nope, corruption alone still sells. Only collectors trilogy, because it's got the Older games fit for the wii's controls and graphics update.
