Well, the main reason I've registered in this forum is for share my game (and ask for help in graphics).

I've started this project like two weeks ago and it goes extremely well. All I'm needing is some original sprites for the bosses - subbosses, and also two good armors for X.

This game is beign programed in a new lenguaje called Gemix (it's the true sucessor for a old and death lenguaje called DIV). It's very powerful and has a lot of features. Gemix is still in development, but it's more recently Beta is 100% compatible with old DIV and it has a lot of new commands.

It's a Beta of the main engine, a test level.

Controls:

Move: Arrows or W,A,S,D.
Primary Attack: Joystick's 5 Button or C or J
Secundary Attack: Joystick's 4 Button or X or U
Jump: Joystick's 3 Button or V or K
Dash: Joystick's 2 Button or B or L
Giga Attack: Joystick's 6 Button or Left Shift or Right Shift
Weapon Change 1: Joystick's 7 Button or I or F
Weapon Change 2: Joystick's 8 Button or O or G
Menu: Joystick's 10 Button or Esc

Zero has some Skills: Up+Secondary Attack (in the floor), Down+Secondary Attack (in the air) and Giga Attack.

What I'm needing in term of graphics:

1) Two new armors for X. One of them will be the Dragoon Armor (I want one that has wings) and the other one will be a free one (it'll work like the Gaea Armor, but I'm going to give it more movility, like some move in the air).

2) The eight Mavericks. I need:
a) One that has a huge Spike Ball (like Violen) and a giant sword.
b) One Fire Maverick
c) One Ice Maverick
d) One Thunder Maverick
e) Four random Mavericks. I'll take any that looks cool.

3) I need a 32 Bits version of Vile. I want him to come back.

All in 32 Bits and in X style, of course.

EDIT: It doesn't have to be only one person doing all the Spriting. I'll take sprites from anybody, If person A send me a Boss and person B send me an armor, I'll take both and credit both of them.

And that's all. If anybody wants to help with these graphics, I'll credit it in the game (in the endings and in the start). I'll also credit Sprites-INC, of course.

EDIT: For closing the program, use Alt+X. It finishes the game very quickly. And pressing F4 and F5 change the game between fullscreen and windowed.

Very nice demo! Few quirks:
-Wall jumping/climbing. It's really hard to go up on it, seems too sensitive.
-Dashing. I can't dash while pressing the right or left buttons. Applies to while in air too. Also, dash-jumping doesn't seem to work for normal X. Unless I'm missing something. :/

But yea, it all seems to work well other wise. Keep at it! =D

About your points:

- Too sensitive? You mean that X or Zero returns to the wall faster than in the original versions?
- The controls issue is really weird, never happened to me and to the few betatesters helping me. I have a favor to ask you, check if that happens with the other set of controls. I mean, if you detected that problem with the arrows, then check it with W, A, S, D and so with the action buttons. It sounds more like a keyboard problem, nor a programming bug. In fact, Dash-Jumping works with normal X, i've checked it and it and it doesn't have any problem :S

But for the arrow keys and cvb, when I'm pressing left or right, hold B, and try to jump, X does not jump. I think this happened when I was playing as Zero too, but I don't remember and I'm too lazy to start up the program again >>;

Also, how do you quit the game without Ctrl+Alt+Del? >_>

Thanks again, man! Yes, it's a keyboard problem. But it's nice to know that this problem exists. Either way, in more advanced versions i'll add a button configuration menu.

Oh, and i forgot to include an exit key >_<. But you can close the program real fast by pressing Alt+X. I'm editing the first post to add this.

And i forgot to comment that F4 / F5 switch the game between Fullscreen and Window. I'm adding that too.

About wall jumping on corners, you're right, i never noticed it. I'll see what can i do.

No one here answers requests anymore. But, it looks nice. Hope it works out. If you can't get customs, do what I do. Do a recolor (better than nothing).

And about the project: Zero now has two more techs. The first one is Burning Dash. When air-dashing, Zero now becomes invincible to contact damage and is surrounded by burning flames that inflicts little damage. Also, Zero's air-dash goes longer when he gets this tech:

The second one is called Energy Wave and is a small proyectile weapon that consumes energy (it has 8 uses). This weapon is telecommanded, so, it will automatically take the direction of the closest enemy.

It's not bad, but I would heavily suggest replaying X4 or one of the PSX Mega Man games and getting a better feel for the physics and altering them here to better reflect that, because as is the physics are rather bad. Walljumping is handled improperly, so is jumping, gravity, dashing, dash jumping, running lacks the 'go to run' frames and the speed build-up,etc. Study X4 a bit more.

So far its a nice try, but it still has a ways to go.

I recommend you to at least draw a model of the armor (dragoon), if it's based on the M.dragoon character then you gotta make the armor more lookalike, why don't you use falcon armor as a base?.

The Vile sheet should be in Public Domain on the main site. Be careful when you frankenstein parts of sprites. You have to know what you're doing. If you want someone to do recolors, I will do some for you. I like to think I am not all that bad (not that it's hard to do). I will help you in anyway I can. Seriously though, all I am good at is recolors. Just look at the comic I'm doing. Anyway, Let me know (in case no one will do customs for you).

Thanks for the opinion. Well, about Walljumping, you're right, It's something I'm trying to enhance it, specially when dash-walljumping. About the gravity, I've done it in purpose. I've noticed that in X4 and X5 the gravity is a little soft, and I wanted to make it stronger, so you'll have less time in air (like in old MM or MMZ). If you play X6, you'll see that the gravity there is even weaker.
About dashing, I've done that when the dash finishes, X or Zero stands in the place doing the "finish" animation instead of making them moving while breaking. That's a thing I never liked in X4 to X6.
And running lacking the "go to run" frames, never noticed it, but you're right. I'll try to add it to the next version.

Well, It's not based in X and Zero old comrade. I called it the Dragoon Armor because of the wings (the wings are the ones that belongs to Dark Dizzy). But maybe you're right, maybe the Falcon Armor would be better, It looks more aerodynamic than the Shadow. You know, I'm terrible pathetic whit all that is related to graphics. Anyway, I'll see what to do, thanks for the opinion.

I've downloaded the file a moment ago, the link and the file work well. Maybe the servers of Mediafire were down when you tried.

Mmmmmmmm, the impossibility of the dash jumping may be related to the set of keys you're using. Try to use another (or a Joystick, If you have one). In my keyboard I don't have any problem with the controls, but in another ones, the use of the arrows to move makes it impossible to hold to keys at the same moment. Try using W,A,S,D and J,K,L. If the problem persists by all means, please, let me know.
About the wall-jumping, I'll try to make it better before the next BETA, I still have to make a better system to detect collisions with walls and make sure that X or Zero won't end in the other side of the wall. Thanks for the opinion ^^

¡Udpate!

Now Zero has all the moves:
1) Spin Blade: Allows Double Jump and the old 360 attack.
2) E-Blade: Down + Secondary Attack in the air. A powerful lightning falling attack.
3) Giant Z-Saber: The Giga Attack. Can be done by pressing the Giga Attack Button. It's a crescent moon giant wave that deals massive damage.
4) Ice Slash: Up + Secondary Attack in the floor. An antiaereal ice move.
5) Burning Dash: Can be done by Air Dashing. When doing that, a Fire Shield will cover Zero, making him invulnerable to contact damage and dealing low damage to enemies. Also, the Air Dash now lasts longer.
6) Energy Wave: Secondary Attack button in the floor. An energy attack that automatically goes to the nearest enemy.
7) Shock Buffer: Damage reduced by one point and invulnerability effect after taking a hit is doubled.
8) Energy Crush: The old Rekkoha is now a normal move. To do it, press Down + Secondary Attack in the floor. Zero is vulnerable during the attack.

Fourth Armor X now has the old Nova Strike. Can be done by pressing the Giga Attack Button

Wall-Jumping has been remade. Thanks to Solarblade and Zero James Magnion for pointing that. I find the climbing better now, I'm expecting your opinion.

The controls problems have no solution. They depend on the keyboard. I'll try to add a button/joystick configuration to the next test. For now I recommend playing with Joystick and testing the two sets of controls.

And now I'm doing X's Weapons. If anybody has any suggestion, please, post it.

Well, I've made some progress with the weapons. I've created two for X (Zero is complete in the last BETA):

Fire Shield:

Normal: Four flames will cover X, destroying some proyectiles and dealing minimum damage. Effect lasts after a few seconds or after X takes a hit.

Charged: Four large flames will emerge from X's body, covering him vertically and horizontally and dealing great damage to enemies.

Ice Rock:

Mmmmmmm... Nice question. Speaking with the true, X4's voices were always my favorites. If I'm right, Lucas Gilbertson and Mark Gatha were the voices of X and Zero in X8, right? What I can do is a option to switch voices, so the player can choose between X4 / X8. What do you think?

The electric weapon is very nice, the missile though could use some smoke comming out from the back. The charged missile attack would look better if they fell one after the other instead of all at the same time in the same row.

By the way, JKB, I've seen your videos and I'm really impressed with your work (I'm even more impressed since I read that your project is being made on Flash!). Hope you the best with it ^^

Yeah, those are moving platforms. With this udpate to the main engine, I can make rising floors, closing walls, falling cliffs, etc. And more platforms, of course. And also, I wanted to give X a special weapon, a cube that can stick to walls, so it can be used for reaching hard places.

Anyway, I hope to have a better BETA soon, and some videos too!

Well, It's been a while since my last udpate here, but here we go: the improved version of Megaman XS BETA is here.

A lot of things (like the main menu) are temporal. I'm trying to find some nice graphics to build the game better.

Whoever says that is not smart. This is still a work in progress. I can't wait to play the full game. I don't like demos much because they are usually glitchy. But, whatever.

Giant Saber could be called "hadangeki" (considering that's the name of his saber wave in both X7, AND Tatsunoko Vs Capcom)
Or, you could go a bit on the fanwank side, (lol) and instead, turn his saber wave, (considering it's his giga attack anyway) Into His Awakened Zero attack from X5, "Genmurei"

I don't think you're being picky, I like to get some opinions. The Japanese names sounds really good, and I got some crazy idea... What do you think about some menu option that lets you switch between English and Japanese names?

What the...? It's the first time someone reports this error. Could you please give me more info about in what conditions it happened to you? It must be a "hard to find glitch", I really thank you for finding it.

I managed to find the problem, It seems like you're jumping when you're almost at the edge of the platform, so Zero starts falling and you do the double-jump instead of the normal jump. If you can check this, please, It would be a great help.

That's weird :S. Try to re-extract the full game, you're the first one that has this problem. What OS are you using?

I have. I downloaded it like 3 times. I tried an older version on it didn't crash.

Ok, I'm trying to figure what's happening, you're the first one to report this error and I thank you for that.

Which of all the older versions worked? It would be of great help to get the problem.

Tried this one in your Shared folder.
"Megaman XS - Segunda prueba 60 FPS"
And it gave me the same error. It seems like it something wrong with the
"Daño enemigo.wav". I think it might be the name. Try renaming the file with out the special characters. My windows doesn't like that. Although I can play Japanese named file because my PC is set to accept Japanese.

Yeah, you may be right, in English de "ñ" has no use. I'll rename it now and I'll reupload it, thanks for the info!

Mmmmmmmmm... try to plug-off the Joystick and see if you can pass that screen with Enter. Some Joysticks have bad drivers, I'm planning to include a Joystick driver package in some future version.

If you cannot, it may be an incompatibility with English keyboards and knowing that would be of great help, because Gemix lenguage is still in development, so that problema can be solved. You've been of great help, man, for my game and for this new lenguage. I really thank you!

It's just a standard keyboard. My Joypad worked with he older versions of your builds. I unplugged my jopyad and the keyboard still didn't work.=/

Sorry for the waiting, I'm having some health problems and my time is reduced.

I'm going to report this to Gemix Team, this seems to be a problem from the lenguage. Thanks for the report, when I got news, I'll let you know.
