Wow, just wait for Gaga and Blueflame and all to get here and bash Halo... Really, I might consider picking up Halo 3 exept for the fact that the 360 is a piece of crap. Besides, they're ruining the storyline even more (and to think, it was really good before Halo 2).

I don't hate Halo, like an idiodic Nintendo fanboy, but I don't like it either, like a retarded X-Box fanboy.

But I do hate Sony.

You're surprised that Halo 3 was announced? If it weren't for Halo, XBOX would've been dead faster than the Dreamcast (sorry everybody that loves SEGA, myself included). I still view the BOX to be a mostly worthless sytem and Halo to be vastly overrated. Once a quality FPS is released for a console that has system link/internet multiplayer, Halo will be blown completely out of the water.

And this is coming from one who bought a used XBOX for the sole purpose of system link Halo!

As a computer, I think the XBox is absolutely bloody splendid.
Pity about the lack of good games.

As for Halo.
The single player campaigns are good, but not amazing. (The single player for Halo 2 is too short and too easy and too repetetive!) But the multiplayer, graphics, and soundtracks are the love.

I'm inevitably going to have a 360 one day, so I'll probab;y play Halo 3 then.

I can wait 'till it's less than fifty bucks-- I really don't need it any time soon or within 10 years for that matter.

Until recently, the X-box did have something to almost single handley make me want one:

Outrun 2.

*prays that Halo fanboys do not ivade the forum*
Halo 3 will hopefully have a better Campaign. Multiplayer is already in the bag. That's where Halo really shines. I already got a 360 though, so no worries there. It'll probably be sitting collecting dust till Halo 3 is released. And if anyones surprised that Halo 3 was annaunced, they had to have been living under a rock. The Dark Lord of the Sith, Bill Gates, announced it like 10 bloody times before it was official.

I've heard that the forerunners may have been humans, or are at least connected to them in some way. It'd make for an interesting twist, and one of the first real signs that there is an actual STORY in the Halo universe.

I liked Halo, despite the odd flaw or two. Halo 2, however, is the most overrated, overhyped, overzealous game of all time. And that is not the kind of statement I throw around often. I suspect Bungie spent so much time making the new engine and making sure the graphics were pretty that they forgot how to make a game fun.

My biggest complaint would have to be the absurd length of the levels, something which the first Halo was plagued with, and is made worse the 2nd time around. This is accomplished by copying and pasting parts of the same level over and over to increase playing time to an absurd amount. Something that EVERYONE complained to Bungie about from the first game, to which they made no effort in improving upon. It should be obvious that a level needs to be trimmed down to size when there are over 15 checkpoints between the starting point and the finish line. And people complained it was too short. If the levels were as, if not more visually attractive than Halo CE's, then it wouldn't be too big a deal for me. But even the level design in the campaign is atrocious, often times looking like a strange cousin to Ratchet & Clank's wacky outer space theme. Fortunately the multiplayer maps are a more enjoyable romp, that hearken back to the days of Perfect Dark.

I'm also not terribly fond of the weapons in Halo 2. The smg is the ugliest and least practical gun I've experienced in quite a while. Low ammo count, inaccurate, all too common and far too ineffective. Not to mention the gaudy design as mentioned before. The Battle Rifle feels underpowered, and the magnum was made worthless through the update. The Carbine was useful only towards creatures who do not posess shields. And I don't think I even need to mention The Needler. The weapon selection is a pale comparison to the original's supreme Pistol and Assault Rifle. Although I did like the vehicles of Halo 2 more than the original.

The controls are alright, with some exceptions.Namely the finicky crouch and zoom features, the melee button that is stretched out so far away that you have to stop moving just to use it, leaving yourself vulnerable. And then there's the fact that Microsoft positioned the right analog stick in a way that forces you to bend your right thumb in an unnatural way. Not a good thing after playing for several hours, but that's more Microsoft's fault than Bungie's.

I hope Halo 3 takes more of a page from Halo CE than it's blowhard sequel. The trailer showed Master Chief holding an Assault Rifle. I am optimistic.

Long levels are great. Unfortunately, with Bungie, it's the same shit for 26 miles.

Personally im looking forward to Halo 3 coming out. im not supprised as it was inevitable for its release for the 360 (end of halo 2 says it all really!!) im not a fanboy of the game but i do enjoy it, i hope its better than the second one as i felt it was a letdown, i had more fun playing the original than i did the sequel, the only thing i felt the sequel had goin for itself was the graphics thats bout it!
all i know its meant to be released this time next year, but if its anything like kingdom hearts 2 and final fantasy XII, the release date will be one big wild goose chase
