I'll just give a brief introduction to my work. I am involved in a RockmanEXE RP forum called RockmanEXE Rogue Network (http://z10.invisionfree.com/RockmanChaosNetwork/index.php?act=idx). All of the sprites below are original characters from either myself or from other members at their requests. You can find my work here (http://z10.invisionfree.com/RockmanChaosNetwork/index.php?showtopic=3938&st=0). My sprites were made entirely in MS paint, so my skills are likely sub-par at best.
((To save space and embarrassment, I'll just put up my works in progress...))

You might want to put it in rows, it stretched the site...

and there are quite a few sprites that are too bright, and others that need contrast.

You can't really blame the sprite's quality on MSPaint. It's a common tool for most spriters.

And yeah, everything that Mathis said.

Also, don't worry about being considered "too amateur". We all had to start somewhere.

MSPaint is perfectly fine. There is no reason at ALL you should EVER need to enlarge sprites, as they are meant to be viewed at the normal scale. Most of your sprites use MSPaint's default colours. They are very bad colours to use and you should create your own by looking for "Edit Colors" in the "Colors" drop box. For right now, I think you should focus on one project ot show us and we can help you improve. Being overwhelmed by so many sprites with flaws common with beginners is difficult and boring to critique.

Right, major problem on most, if not all, is contrast and odd/lack of shading.

Heh, sorry about that. I'll cut down my sprites to just works in progress. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Edit: Just trying to apply what I learned.

Doing a little more shading, etc. I'm thinking about improving the hairstyle, but I need to find a good example of metallic, spike-like hair. It would be somewhat similar to the "Ray" models (especially Ray 01) from the Custom Robo Series.

Yeah, the hair looks a little sloppy. I'm trying to find a sprite with a similar design (since my experience with making hair is low), but right now I can use an old doodle (http://fc74.deviantart.com/fs15/f/2006/353/b/0/Machman_EXE_by_Fenix_by_manguskahn.jpg) of a previous version of the sprite.

Here's some other ones I've completed (did some more but unfortunately I saved them "too big" and can't shrink them back without distortion).

Yeah, it's been a while, and I've done a crap ton of sprites since my last post, but I'll just show some of my favorites.

Haven't been back at this forum for quite a long time; finally got back to a little more sprite work after a downtime of about... 6 months. Here are just a few I made in the past few months. Most of them are 2x size for ease of viewing for those who requested them, but I know how that rubs you all the wrong way, so I left 'em out.

The shading and contrasts fine, the colors are the things making your eyes bleed.

Xearez

the top of his head looks like the top of a fire hydrant...

Lern

oh, the OW sprite.
Yeah, disregard what I said.

Yeah, the blue and orange color scheme isn't exactly my best decision. How would you suggest I change it to make it look better? Use a darker orange? hard lines? (And I assume you mean the BN overworld sprite?)

Xearez

im talking about the battle sprite. i think the orange should be darker and i think the top of the head should be redone.

Lern

oh, no, then you ARE wrong. The IB sprites are fine, OW need to be redone.

I say different color scheme, I don't like orange and blue.

Xearez

@lern:you honestly dont see anything wrong with the in battle sprite?

To make it easy, I numbered the sprites. I agree 2 and 4 can use a redesign on the hair, I'll be working on that. As for the color scheme, I can't really change it for RP purposes.
