This is a topic about the SNES game Live-a-Live.

For those who don't know, Live-a-Live is an RPG released only in Japan, but unofficially translated into English. Live-a-Live is unique for several reasons: the main reason being that it is really 9 different 'mini-RPG's' in one, which all have different settings (anybody up for a Prehistoric or Old Western RPG?). There are initially 7 'Mini-RPG's' playable, then a 'Mideveal' Chapter which serves as sort of the main storyline, and the final chapter, where the main heros of the first seven chapters are brought to the Mideveal Chapter world to fight the final boss. The game is short, but it makes for it with just about everything else.

So my question is... has anybody else heard of it?

I tried to play it once, but the battle system isn't easy to get used to.

It certainly looks interesting. And I am starting to wonder how the gameplay works now, too.
So to answer your question, I have heard of the game (now, that is) but I have never played it.

For those interested, this is the website with the English Translation Patch. It does NOT contain the ROM, just the patch.

I've enjoyed what I have played of the game.
Only beaten the very interesting Space episode.
And playing through the Cave man episode now...
And there's probably a good reason it never got here... the cave man episode...

But I'd soo recommend it. It takes a little getting used to as far as the battle system is concerned, though.
((Or just play the space episode, which really only has a single required battle, and all other battles are optional and will not lead to a gameover.))

Boilman: I'm uploading a video of a fight (specifically the Ninja's scenario, but I assume it's the same for all) so you can see how it works.
