I've had this idea for a while but never really got around to doing anything with it soo.... I'll just let it loose here. I call it the "PetNavi" and, just as it sounds, it's basically a pet for a NetNavi. They would serve as companions in NetBattles and through the use of a special SuperAdapt Sub Chip, the navi could merge with their pet to gain stronger abilities. (Provided if the two are compatible.. that is, they both have a matching fragment of data in them that is identical.)

Now, for the pet+navi bond thing. Take MegaMan.EXE for example, his PetNavi would be Rush.IPS. As an IPS patch, with the SuperAdapt SubChip, you could patch him onto MegaMan to grant him tougher weapons. Likewise there would be a Treble.IPS for Bass.EXE. Basically it's like patching an executable program to alter it's function.

That's basically it for my idea, as I've never really bothered to finish it... well, most of its minor details anyway. Well... I guess I'll just let you guys discuss this... a good idea? Or not?

As much as I know about BN, it amazes me that this idea has never crossed my mind. But, we really don't need Bass/Forte any stronger than he already is. I fought him once in total, and I got my rear-end handed to me on a silver platter. Now imagine the kind of power Treble/Gospel can and will give him. And I would not put it past any of the villains in BN to give him that power.

Why am I posting so much all of a sudden?

Well.. take note that while Bass may be powerful, he ISN'T the strongest. He HAS been defeated before... now... on the subject of the idea, I made this to try and connect the EXE characters with EXE styled versions of the pets they had in the classic games. In fact, the inspiration for both the PetNavis and the SuperAdapt SubChip come entirely from the Classic MM games, it's just that everything was re-tooled to fit with BN.

Canonically, he may not be, but according to the games, he's harder than the first form final bosses(3FB =P). I knew you were mixing Classic and BN, and I was referencing the thought of the Treble/Gospel Boost put into Battle Network.

Yes but MegaMan can counter that, he has Rush.IPS... now imagine the MAIN CHARACTER with that power. I think Bass would be screwed without Treble.IPS so it's only fair for both of them to have their pets. That and, again, just to balance out with the classic games.

Rush Adapter Megaman.exe, Vs. Treble Boost Bass.exe = about the same as before, plus a few surprises. Besides, Mega's too naive to use any form to it's fullest, so at best he would find normal Bass a bit easier, but still worthy of the title "Hardest Boss in the Game".

Well, just be lucky it isn't Rush Adapter Megaman.exe vs. Gospel Beast-Out Bass.exe.... because Mega would be screwed by then, and take note that I don't really consider them to be the same thing. Treble.IPS is an PetNavi with an internal patch program that contains bits of Bass' data and image data of Gospel, which makes him compatible with Bass.. AND look like a smaller, purple colored version of Gospel. Gospel itself on the other hand is this huge super-bug (or mega-virus, ranking right up there with the LifeVirus. Possibly ranking as high as a cybeast, and it's been stated before that Gregar and Gospel share striking similarities.) that was created through bug-fusion. It'd be rather obvious as to why I don't think they're the same thing. That and when I came up with the Treble.IPS thing, I was referring to a sort of "Playable Bass.EXE" like in MegaMan Battle Network 4.5 Real Operation.

So basically the list is as follows for now:

MegaMan.EXE - Rush.IPS
Bass.EXE - Treble.IPS
ProtoMan.EXE - Beat.IPS (Why Beat? Look at SC's protoman expansion sheet in the PD section and you'll see why. The poses of Proto with Beat inspired this one.)
