Hello My name is William Richard Barrington.
I'm going to make a game like the old Snes Game Mega Man X. Note I said like, and that I did not say I was going to make a Mega Man X game. Also note that what I mean by I'm going to make a game like Mega Man X is it will have that style of game play. This means it will be a side scroller and when you defeat a boss you will get a power up or a new weapon or spell Etc.
The game will be large in scale like super metroid or Castlevania and there will be a total of 37 characters Nine of which will be playable, and three of them the player will have to unlock by getting far into the game.
This game will have elements from other games like Legends of the Dragoon, It will be purely 2D unless you count the fact that the game sprits will be able to do moves like round houses, spins, back flips etc.
From Legends I will build a fighting system like the addition system were as lets say the character your playing and one of the enemy sprites swing their swords at the same time, if that happens then the battle lock system will engage which means the screen will focus in on your character and the enemy sprite.
For Example the screen will zoom in close up, if your character has more speed than said enemy sprite than the small battle lock will engage. Which gives you two options, one a similar system like the addition system will start which can come into play while your character is still moving this means your character will be able to plow right through the enemy sprite and keep going.
Which in some cases will result in said enemy sprite getting launched across the screen and depending on what the enemy sprite hits as he is launched across the screen more or less damage may be done to him.
If the big battle lock engages than there will be a system of spheres that come down in order and if you hit them in time your character will dodge the enemy sprites attacks while slashing the enemy sprite depending on how well you do you may have four out comes.
one you may die depending on the strength of said enemy, two you may lose some life from your life bar and or be knocked back. or before the final blow you may be able to jump back out of the battle lock.
Or if you are doing good you may be able to slash your enemy dead, but lets say your enemy has a lot of life than if your doing extremely good and you manage to hit all the appropriate buttons at the right time than when it comes to the final blow you may be able to execute a finishing move.
This will be a very Bloody game! In This game there will also be spells that you cast. If you cast a small spell against an enemy sprite you may end up with about six results. one the enemy is immune to magic and the magic attack will sail through him with out doing any damage.
Two the enemy sprite may be an absorber class in which case he will become stronger second off if he is just a regular enemy than depending on how much life he has he may die or survive in which case you will need to dodge or fire again or slash as fast as you can.
Third if the enemy sprite is a magic user than you will have a battle lock engage. If it is two small class spells they may cancel eachother out, but if weakness is applied than the stronger magic attack will over ride the other in which case the amount of damage done to the enemy sprite will be equivalent to the strength of both magic blasts added together.
Fourth A constructed magic attack will have a big effect on an enemy if he is not of the absorber class or the reflector class also constructed spells can effect the stage and the characters there in. Fifth if two constructed spells collide than the big battle lock will engage in which case once again you will have to hit the right buttons as they cascade down.
In the case of two player than who ever hits the most buttons will be victorious. In which case the sum of accumulated magic will totally trash who ever lost. Sixth you may be given a chance to run if it is a small magic blast than you may be able to duck or jump over it. If it is a constructed spell than you should run if you get the chance to jump out of the constructed magic lock.
Because if you run than the amount of damage may be weakened depending on how much of the terrain is consumed and or slows down the magic blast. keep in mind constructed spells are usually massive and you will most likely get hit anyway. But if you are lucky and fast you may escape unscathed.
(Speed power and life) This game will be very complex and you will learn to use it's complex but simple fighting style. Lets say your dashing hitting the button again and again than to dash, well Each dash equals up. In other words it's pulsed together. So if one Dash equals 8 FT than two dashes equals 16 FT and three Dashes Equals 24 FT now all this is per secants and your characters Attack power is 15 A. Now lets say you hit an Enemy sprite while your moving at 24 FT per S, Now plus your Attack with your speed so 15 A. + 24 FT. S. = 39 A.P. Now lets say your enemy is standing still than his Attack power amounts to Zero than and his speed amounts to Zero so you would only take into effect his Defense which we will say is 13 D. and he has 100 L. Than you would take the 13 D. and minus it from the 39 A.P. which = 26 A.P. than you would minus the 26 A.P. from the enemies 100 L. which leaves your enemy with 74 L. left.
You would also take the 4 out of 74 and the 4 is how far back you would knock your enemy.
So Speed will be key to winning in this game.
Your characters life is 120 L.
Now lets say You are moving at 32 FT. S. and your A.P. is 30. So + 32 with 30 = 62 A.P. Your D. is 25. Now lets say that your Enemy is equal to you, that is to say he has 120 L. His A.P.62 and his D. is 25 and you collide at the same time. Both life bars would go down from 120 L. to 58 L. and Both characters would be knocked back 8 FT.
