Chino Raven Star's Sprite Thread

Hello Everybody,

i've been on here for sometime, picking up tips and watching some of the spriters and how skillful they are, hoping to learn something.

Anyways, here is what i have to show off.

Dr. Horrible (From Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).

Now, Dr. Horrible is a full custom sprite.

to make the lower part of his lap coat, i used pointers from female sprite's dresses.

Alot of pillow shading on Dr. Horrible. Plus the symbol on Captain hammer's chest is.. Erm.. I dunno the word. But basically- The symbol is pointing at us, but his chest isn't.

And my old Adam Novus head. Scratch that. It IS my old Adam Novus head! Even the damn palette is exactly the same! And I know I didn't give permission to use it.

Vega, if you're going to say he's stealing some of your sprites, you need to post the sprites in question.

Chino, if you used someone else's work without permission, then you need to remove that image from your post immediately.

Now, I'm going to leave the thread open until this is sorted out. And I only want Vega and Chino posting in it until it's sorted out.

If you aren't Vega or Chino and you post in this thread, you will get a warning. I don't want to hear what you think about sprite theft, and don't give any crits right now.

Unless you're talking about a sprite he posted before what he's got up now, I don't see how he stole the head (it looks like he edited his post with a new head). They look pretty different.

It was a sprite that he posted in the original post, but he took down after I reported him on it. In fact he even says he took down the sprite in his edit.

Chino, please don't use other people's sprite work for your work, and read the forum rules.

Meh, Over all it's pretty good. But the shading could be better.

it seems pillowshaded, and if he‘s wearing a lab coat shouldn‘t it be in one piece? it seems to be segmented into upper body, lower body, and arms. it also blends into his shoes...

in the show, he is wearing a white belt, so i wasn't sure what do to about it.

i thought he was wearing white boots or shoes but i may have missed something on it....

Might want to work on the shading of the coat. It's pillow-shaded.

As well as being pillow-shaded (especially on the "skirt" end) the biggest problem is that it lacks contrast. You need to make the outfit have more contrast. And the goggles you're using for his head are too visor-like. He looks like a scientist in a lab-coat, so it should be more spectacle-looking.

Hm. Unless you do so, then your claims mean nothing.

Anways, I suggest completely changing the shaping of the feet, using high cotrasted colours, and reshading all of the clothes, being pillow shaded. Perhaps try to shade the arm aswell.

Since I'm paranoid when it comes to things like this, could you link me to some place where he could have gained the sprite from?

In other words- Where'd you post the sprite for him to get it from?

OK Chino, now it seems like you're lying. I'm going to lock the thread, then we're going to figure out why you said "now the sprite is full custom" when it clearly couldn't be. So, before I dull out any warnings (or even bans) I want to hear what you've got to say.

EDIT: Just so you know, if you don't respond to my PM, I'm going to ban you. I'm not going to say how long you've got to respond either, so I'd do it ASAP.
