Comedy.
Item number four on my Fave Things About Life.
After all, few things feel better than laughter (this is why sex is at number one on the list) so I thought I'd make this thread.

Discuss comedy programs, comedians, and what not.

I like a lot of BBC Radio 1960's stuff, such as Round The Horne, The Goon Show, and the mighty Tony Hancock (A hillarious man, who sadly commited suicide. Reasons being A) Too much intelligence B) Not enough intelligence C) No self confidence).

And of course, Monty Python's Flying Circus is probably my fave show of all time.

Modern comedy sitcoms, to me, seem very boring, and too obsessed with items that appeal to our most basic instinct. Granted, while sex is the best, programs where people talk about it endlessly are not. (This is why I dont like porn. Why watch everyone else have the fun?) however, we occasionally get the gem like The Mighty Boosh and Spaced (which unfortunately DIE after 2 series).

The eighties and nineties were absolute goldmines for comedy, as Blackadder and Red Dwarf have shown.

Comedians-

Bill Bailey- In his own words, if you like psuedo intellectual philosophical surrealism, or, a bearded weirdo rambling, this is the man for you. The man is a genius in the sense that his act relies on random eccentricities rather than punchlines (when criticized on this, the man showed that he can also kick ass at doing "conventional" comedy by doing a whole hour of punchline gags) as well as his amazing use of music.
DAS HOKIE KOKIE

Lee Evans- A character who, to me, appears to be loathed by many. I dont understand how people cannot like the man (Granted, old people tend to be annoyed by the amount he swears). The man is hillarious. His material isn't groundbreaking, but his delivery is genius.
"I dunno what it is, seen the guy behind the counter at the health food shop? He's fucking handing it out all day, he's the ugliest fucker I've ever seen! 'WOULD YOU LIKE SOME STRAWWWWWBERRIIIES?!' .....URGH!"

Henry Rollins and Bill Hicks, despite their mass amount of conflicting differences, are my two fave comedians of all time, and I base my entire philosophy for existance on their teachings.

Also, Bill Hicks' piece about renting nothing but porno and Sonic The Hedgehog games on Easter = Good.

"How I celebrate the ressurection of Jesus. Clam Lappers, and Sonic Fucking Hedgehog."

(OK, short lived, but it's good to hear he's a nerd after all :D)

Lee Evans = YES.

Also: Harry Hill. A random nutter quite unlike any other. GOLDFINGER! *blows thumpet*

Lee Evans: She'll go "Who's that ringing at this hour?" "I DONT FUCKING KNOW! If I DID know that we wouldn't NEEEEED the BLOODAAAYYPHONE!"

Harry Hill is fantastic.
And I'm not saying that simply because half of the office call me The Real Harry Hill... bastards.

Robin Williams' standup is quality.

"Warning signs to see if you have a coke problem. If you come home to see you've lost your TV, furniture, carpet, wallpaper, and the cats climbing out going 'I'm outta here, prick' -Warning"
