This is a comic I'm making for the beginning of a game I have in development called Megaman OverDrive. I included a bio for 3 of the main characters and I am accepting characters for the rest of it. Yes this comic is a serious one but it will also end in some punchlines just because they work, but keep in mind not all of them will.
For submitting characters try to keep along the story line for his/her background. The affiliations for them are Government, Shione Cult, and the Phoenix Ressistance (will be introduced later)
Credits for the sprites goes to Blackbelt Dude, Robert Oakes, Commando_Joe, and of course Capcom.

I like the comic. Very good. If I can, I'll make a character. When I can sprite 32-bit. He will be - A ninja! Or something like that.
I'll try too but after stopping in the spritting thing I doubt that I will ever make a sprite for your game/comic.

That's fine I'ts up to you. Oh and just for your info the only playable characters for the game out of those three are Drive and Mariah. You'll see what happens to Mikzu MUWAHAHAHAHA... Sorry 'bout that. Moment of weakness and insanity.

Go for it. Just to remember to have it fit in with the storyline and that later (probably not for a while) he might become a playable character 'cause I'll need two eventually..

All you really need to know that a war's going on between Terraia's government and the Shione Cult, The governments trying to maintain control and the cults trying to overthrow them. Other than that you can do almost anything. Oh I did forget to mention that neither of those sides are exactly good... more of the story will be revealed as I make more comics.
And if you have any questions just ask, I'll try to answer them, but be please be somewhat specific. Just saying whats the story won't work cause it is a little complicated.
Is this like an alternate dimension type megaman? If not, where in the timeline will it take place?

Yes it is an alternate demension(sp?) . The only thing that is like Megaman is the name and the O.F.S. which is kinda like a combination between Kingdom Hearts 2's drive system and acquired weapons from bosses.
That ruins my backstory.. oh well. I'll think of something.
The comic is not bad...

I decided that for your characters you can make like a mercenary group or something if you want, but if you do everyone that wants to be a mercenary will be part of that group ok.

Inferno. He's a General(Or the equivalant of) in the government's army(somewhere in there. Your storyline is kinda vague). And in case you couldn't guess, he's a manipulator of flame.
I'll make a usable comic sheet, but not an actual playable kinda sheet. He's a frankenstein sprite... but he's absolutely awesome.

Yes I know my storylines kinda vaque but that's what this comic is for to CREATE a storyline for the game. All that needs to be known is that the Dominance War is being raged and whichever side wins, everyone losses, because both the Government and the cult are tyrants to the citizens and because of this a resistance will rise up to destroy both sides. Soon afterwards Drive will realize that him working for the government is wrong and will gradually defect to the resistance, but not before the government finishes with him. Other than that the backgrounds for your characters will influence how all of that will play out.
Oh yea forgot, Inferno kicks ASS, I needed a good general.
Oh, okay.
Here's a basic outline of Inferno's past:
He's basically the equivalant of a Reploid. He joined the government army with his brother, Frost(They shared a creator). He doesn't really agree with the government, though, he only joined so as to not have to fight his bro. His brother was killed in action, and the only reason he stays is because that's what he would have wanted. His skill and will to fight brought him up through the ranks very quickly.

Yea, that works. That is exactly how I'll portray him. About the "whole your bios will determine how the story plays" thing, an example of this would be that Drive and Mikzu are in danger so Inferno, seeing himself and Frost in Drive and Mikzu, sacrifices himself to save the twins. Now you see how your bios can tell the story?
As for the equivilent of a Reploid, a humanoid one is known as a Cyterran and all others are know as ReBeasts (Re as in Reploids), and they are born not created (don't mean to be rude everyone) .
Okay, I understand now. It all makes sense.
Maybe I could make Frost sprites for flashback, eh?

I'm working on my character. He's an assaian that works for who ever pays the most, but follows a code. He's a Cyterran that looks like a ninja. He has no knowlodge of his past, but has random flashbacks. Is hired by the Shione Cult to take out the Triad Attack Force.
I'm working on the sprite, but it won't be a masterpeice.
Jace, feel free to change it if you feel like it, if you choose to use this guy.

I wouldn't worry about it being a "masterpiece" anyway I mean all Drive is made up of is recolered and spliced armor pieces.
Okay, I did another sprite of him... He's a tough sprite to piece together. I had forgotten where I got a few things. :g-drop:
I also have two attacks, which use the same sprite.(I may edit it to be different for one attack)

The first row of fireball things are his firestorm blast attack, where he basically launches multiple fireballs.
The second is his Spontaneous Combustion move, which let's him set fire to a nearby opponent.

Mainly a recolor with several edits... (mainly small things)
Its incomplete anyhow. The only part thats actully "finished" is the standing sprite in the top left part.
He needs a name. I am horrible at names, so yea.

Well, Jace can decide for me.
For the comic, a plot idea is that a plant has been discovered that seems to intract with machines and enhance their power! (I used plant instead of metal or mineral because those have been used too many times.)
This what my character will look like but I haven't yet sprited him. He wears phoenix Armor with wings his helmit resmebles a phoenix
an just above his eye holes is a jewel. I haven't been able to sprite him because I haven't sprited in a while.Oh and I haven't been able to come up with an name for him but I think I have it. hHs name is pheonix in japanese.Can anyone give me a link to a translater? so I can translate pheonix in english to the japanese word for phoenix?
Edit: NVM I all ready found one his name is fenikkusu isn't that an awsome name?

Yes haukura that is an awesome name. And I'm guessing that by all the phoenix references he is going to a ressistance member, right?
Hay Jace I am waiting for my sprite to be made so.... will you still allow my character to be in your story even though it is taking a little longer than I thought the sprite would be made?
In other words will there still be an opening for my character when the sprite is made?

Yea that's fine take all the time you need, I still haven't hammered out all the small details for the story anyway. Oh and i've decided I'll try to update at least once a week, if not more. If I don't update one week I'll tell you why.

Sweet guys. For the guy with the scythe how about simply Scythe? Soul looks great Rags glad to have him. But I was wondering guys do you think I can get a usable comic sheet for them instead of just one simple standing pose? It would help me out alot. Thanks.

Dashing, running, jumping, attacking with all of their various moves, talking if their mouth is showing, possibly a ducking, and anything else you can think of like special moves and what not. I think that'll do. If not I'll either request what I need in the request thread or try to make it myself. That allright with you guys?

I decided to let you guys in on some thing. You know how I said this comic will eventually lead into a game? Well I decided to make some of them into the bosses for it. The ones I've decided will definatly be bosses are Inferno, Wyren, and Soul. As for "Scythe" I'm still thinking 'bout it, and as for the phoenix dude I need to see him first.
...But...I don't wanna kill soul....
But oh well.

I don't mean to be picky, but that sprite animation is kinda grainy... and it's not quite how I had intended the slashing to go.
Just so you know, a scythe is easier to wield as a weapon if the attacks are directed upward. Believe me, I know.

Uh.. Yeah. That would be the idea.
Oh, and I know this will probably take a lot of editing, but using both hands when swinging a scythe would be reccommended.
