View Full Version : Sonic's 15th.
Because no one else made a topic about it. The annversary was on Friday.
What's Sega got to celebrate?
http://uk.gameboy.ign.com/articles/714/714474p1.html
Sonic on the PS3 and 360 (yes, we knew about this one), Sonic Rivals for the PSP (again, we knew this already), Sonic on the Wii (ahuh) and Sonic 1 enhanced for the game Boy Advance.
Wait, what?
Sonic 1 on the GBA?
GHKSFNURSGLSYKYAITSUILTUIL!
They've added the spin-dash (like they did in Sonic Jam) and a save feature. Now all it needs is Jam's special stage only mode and time attack mode so this can officialy be better than the 142 other ports of the game!
In other news, Sega have a Mega Drive collection planned for the PSP and PS2, featuring 28 games. Maybe this is making up for the mega Drive titles not being downloadable from the PS3, or something.

Now if only Sega puts Saturn games on the Wii, we'll love them again!

Bah, all that praying "PLEASE give us the DS equivalent of Sonic Mega and Gems Collections!" for nothing!
Seriously, someone tell Sega to get their finger out.
I've always thought they should do a 2D sonic game merger, where you've got every level from Sonic 1, 2, 3, Knuckles, Chaotix and CD, along with all the characters. You could have up to 4 players in a Sonic 2 style Vs mode. There would also be a boss mode that pits you against every 16-bit Sonic boss one by one, and you could play through any of the levels in traditional style or in Chaotix Link-ring style. That would be the perfect Sonic game.
Sonic 1 for the GBA?
The point of that would be?
If they actually added Knuckles and Tails to the game as playable, and a few extra levels, maybe then..
And if it aint budget price - I doubt anyone is going to rush to buy it.

Now thats just wishful thinking.
Sega have had one good idea recently - and that was Rush.
(The upcoming stuff doesn't count for the very reason of "Shadow is in it for no Apparent Perpose", robots coming back to life I can understand (Metal Sonic, etc), but a organic character? Bah.)
They'd never be smart enough to do that type of game!
Sonic 1 for the GBA? That seems like a perfect idea!
Although they should crowbar Sonic 2/3/3K in there or on the DS or sommit like that as well.
Considering how many times Sonic 1 has been ported - couldn't they just come up with a new game - preferbly without gimmicks and the advance series graphics?
The Sonic 1 is going to be a budget title. $20 i the US so probably around £15-20 over here. It'll soon shoot down to a tenner I reckon. If anything I wouldn't mind playing Sonic 1 on my GBA. Hell, the more Mega Drive ports the better.
No, they probably wouldn't be smart enough to make a game like that, but I'm allowed to make up my dream Sonic game ain't I?
As for the whole Shadow thing, they sort of explain it in the Shadow game, from how far I've got. Shadow did die, but Eggman made clones, and the character in the game is one of them. I still think his un-needed in the PS3/360 game, though.
making a new GBA sonic would be pretty worthless now. If they started now they could get one by the end of 2007, but by then the GBA will be more or less dead when it comes to new commercial releases. It makes about as much sense as making a new Sonic for the Gamecube or PS2 now.

Really...... it honestly feels like Sonic's older than that.....

Wrong, its the same Shadow that we all hate from Adventure, he never died, his memory was never faked, his the original. But throw him in the gabage heap already and bring back the original Metal sonic, no dodgy renagade design they did with him for Sonic Heroes.
And meh, playing Sonic 1,2 and 3 and Knuckles on the PSP is enough for me. I doubt Sonic will be making big revolutionary games anymore (Rush however is a exception) his not the same mascot of a leading console developing company anymore.
Yeah Sonic's 15! his lasted longer then most animal heroes in the business!

I can settle this argument about what happened to Shadow. You two obviously got different endings in Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow's fate after SA2 differes depending on your ending. Trust me. I played through it more than once.

Yeah but none of those other "endings" are considered canon and so ignored, the true final ending puts it all together and reveals his the same Shadow, the REAL Shadow, not a clone, or a android. That ending is conisdered canon, everything else is considered non-canon or just a bunch of lies.

Yeah, well I don't think you understood me. I played through SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG more than once. Shadow the Hedgehog! Don't make my slight enjoyment of a game which is terrible in popular opinion be for naught!

Wait, now you've confused me on what I was talking about...I was talking about how the final fight between Doom and Shadow reveals all the truth about his past and that one is considered canon by most. So then, what were we talking about 0_0?

Give Nigel Kitching and Richard Elson full control of Sega = Good Sonic games, if only for plot.
Wishful thinking, I know, but the very idea of waging war against the Brotherhood Of Metallix is too good.
Bah, as long as I have Sonic Rush, I'm satisfied.
Because like I said, that game cures cancer.
