Do not post the following in this thread:
* "OMGHOTNESSIWANTOBANGYOU" - People are ripping from ZXA. Like they ripped from ZX. There is no reason to go on how you want to have their babies.
* This also means - stop posting "wow nice rip". Seriously. If it's a nice rip. It goes up on INC.
* Asking for the rom is a very quick way to find yourself banned. Legal wise INC is touchy enough WITHOUT people doing that.
* Off topic stuff. It's either to do with ZXA and ripping it or not. If it's not, don't post it here.

TerryEdit: I feel that it can't hurt to repost the adresses I've found.:
NOTE: Those adresses are for Obj_fnt.bin, not the whole ROM. If you've loaded the full ROM into your tile viewer, you can only assume that they come AFTER this address :P
If you want to rip from the whole ROM and need adresses, ask Barubary or someone else.
BaruEdit: to use these using the full ROM, first go to offset 00D3C600, then press Ctrl+G, set the mode to relative, and enter an offset from below.
NOTE2: Some of those are spread over many addresses. It may be that I didn't find every, and thus if you'd rip them, they would be incomplete. You'll probably have to search yourself.

I _knew_ TM could solve the tileripping-problem. Download either Tahaxan or DsLazy, and extract the file 'obj_fnt.bin'. This file should contain all sprite data, and is small enough to open with Tile Molester. Set the mode to 2-Dimensional and decrease the width to ~4 tiles. ClownmanEdit: Here are the screenshots of the Secret Disk Database, because of the emulator I used, certain sprites are placed in the wrong order (Example: Kaizemine's...thorax I think it's called...is placed over her main body). Also note that I did these with the Japanese release, thus the name translations.

I have a question that needs answers.

I found enough to rerip but I need to know if there are any other attacks she is capable of using that are not present in the sheet.
She summones Mini-Bees. They come out of those holes. And since they don't just materialize, I'm pretty sure there's frames of them actually exiting her "holes". Other than that...I think she fires high powered laser beams...
But that's it. I can't think of anything else that she would do.

Yes, bees and lasers. You can tell, because in the sheet it shows the frame for when the holes fire the lasers...but the lasers themselves aren't there.
And the bees appear from the same holes...so...Yep.

Everything seems to be there, except for the projectiles. Lasers, Missiles, Mini-Bees (and I shall call him...).
Oh, and the ass-shots she fires without her hive. Also, she can drop a bomb which causes an explosion, which in turn throws out several fireballs.
Aside from those, I think it's complete.

Projectiles might be a problem, seeing as I've only found (what can be obvious her attacks) the bees and missiles, but can't do those as they're arranged weirdly. I found something that could be a laser but I can't say for sure. But compared to the sheet, I found everything for her ass including what is cutoff there.

Not so sure about the spike underneath, (I haven't encountered it while fighting her) but the clamps are for bee and missle launching.
Like we said earlier...all you have on the sheet is her attacks for:
Missiles
Lasers
BeesThe only thing you're missing is, bees, lasers, and missiles. :P
But seriously, that's what's missing. The projectiles you said you couldn't do.
(EDIT)-@Turp Above: It's always attached. She doesn't attack with it, it's located at the bottom of the hive, and if you stand under her (like a retarded person would) you get stabbed by it.
That's probably why you don't remember her attacking with it. You were simply not stupid enough to stand under her as she moved with it.

I never got attacked by her big stinger on the container at all while fighting her, I was playing as Ashe. I also dragged the fight RIDICULOUSLY long. I also reduced her HP, assuming it might be something like an EX skill.
But I did notice she has two normal attacks without the container, a normal mini-shot and a charged shot that explodes in a smal plume of fire when it hits the ground.
You are also missing a set of different frames for missle launches, because they don't use the clamps, but retractable missle holes on both sides of the container.

While she's just flying around, the spike doesn't hurt you even when you touch it. She has an attack where she flies to the top of the screen and fires a laser from that spike though.
When she just flies around with the carrier or does any other attack, the spike looks like the one circled with red, when she shoots the laser it extends, the one circled in green
Yeah, bosses miss their ultimate attack if you play on easy. Also, I'll probably go and play the game (on a real DS) and make (hopefully somewhat good) pictures of her attacks. Of the lasers, the Flamebomb, the Bees, and the Missiles.
Also, I believe the very same Bees and Missiles are used elsewhere in the game, too. But I'll have to check on that.

Siarnaq's correct rockon sprites...
The current one has an odd pattern from the background in it from when the sprite turns transparent during the rockon scene.
The only way to get this 100% accurate would be to tile rip it, which I am unable to do. This should be close though.

BTW- My emulator allows AVI movie recording, which I implemented into it...
Right now, my screen is really messed up, and I can't get the emulation right. I won't place a screen here, but if any of you are interested in helping me fix this issue, I'd appreciate it. I think the main problem is my computer itself.

I can rip very accurate movie clips from the emulation in AVI format.
But only if my screen stops glitching. Also, I'm ripping ModelA's container.

I was planning on making some edits that expand their movements when I noticed the unusual amount of colors on a single sprite.

The only thing missing from the bg now is the fans at the top that whirl around. Those are seperate objects, so they must be ripped seperately.*

*Note: The lights at the top of the rip are C+Ped out of order. They glow, but are part of the bg. Since it isn't animated, I didn't ge the proper lights.
When I go in to do the fan, I'll properly rip the light's animations for you.

(EDIT2)-I will not do any more background rips until someone with experience (ie: Clownman, Barubary, Terry F., ACE_Spark, Quint, Blackbeltdude, soviet commando, Bean, or otherwise) tells me if I'm supposed to rip the backgrounds as I did in this post, or if I'm supposed to keep the layers seperate.
That way I won't have wasted time. I can rip all the backgrounds from HunterCamp in this maner, if you wish, or on seperate layers, whichever's best. And in addition, I can rip all of Ashe's intro stage more appropriately if so. So please help me to help you. Thank you. I appreciate your help.

Since there's several layers that move individually. So I will layer rip those ones. That's one of the reasons the room has the "black" windows. You're supposed to see sky/scenery behind those. Another thing I'll have to do, is to properly rip the lights that glow. Right now the Screen-Capture is incorrect with the lights. (IMO)-The frames look horrible, and certain areas could've been sprited better. But since this a real rip from Capcom, and not something touched up, I can't do anything about those crappy jobs on some of the fins' corners.
On it's own, it is rather bad. But I suppose the bg behind it helps this out.
I'll have the lights ripped properly, and the layers segmented. Then I'll upload the cafe/bar again. But it won't be with the fans, because the fans were not located on a background layer. They were in fact an object. Therefore, they're counted as an object, and must be kept separate.
I suppose they'll go up in Misc. Bg Objects when uploaded. So don't accidently categorize these under the regular bgs, because they're not. Thanks.
(EDIT5)- Five posts have been merged into one, so I appologize if this makes no sense. Hopefully though, you'll be able to understand the point of them.

Also, odds are very good that the fan is a 3-D object (which is why it's outlines look a bit odd). If it isn't a real-time polygon (and if you found in the tile data, it isn't) then it was probably pre-rendered and made into a "sprite." (Like Donkey Kong Country.) Most of the backgrounds in the game aren't REALLY pixel art: they're either drawings or pre-rendered (I think :P).
Sorry Terry. Next time I'll merge my posts together. Would you like me to do that now with the last ones as well? I can if it bugs you.
Oh, and that would make sense as to why they look so bad, but when I'm viewing the fan over the actual background, it looks like regular sprites...
I thought the main problem as to why they looked bad was because they running on a white background (if you're using FreshBlue) and that's what made the darker lines look choppy. Much like the screen I ripped earlier (the train monitor), it doesn't look as well either without the background in place.
Oh, and as to why I want to seperate the layers...I know, as having made a few comics myself, and knowing many that would like to use these in their comics, that having the layers seperated would let them know where their characters are supposed to be positioned correctly.
Also, it helps to animate it as well, knowing where the light's frames go in.
In case they were used for animations (like I would).
A regular screenshot would work for SI, but it wouldn't be convenient for when people want to go in and modify them to their own personal liking.
(EDIT)-I re-read what you said BBD...and I think you were talking about my posts, and not why I was seperating the sprite layers. Sorry, my bad.

Ofcourse they have more than 18 colors. They have more colors because some things are supposed to be on seperate layers, such as Shiarnaq's skarf and Helios' wind and lightning.
I ripped those from emulator, no tile rip, because I needed those for the game I'm making and I don't have any color limitations there which is why I didn't mind the colors.
...which is why I didn't mind the colors.So long as they're the real colors from the game, I see no problem with it. The only problem I'd have with them is if you'd colored in parts to look better, which I don't think you did, so it's okay. As long as they're the official palettes, then you're fine screen ripping them instead of tile ripping them. Besides, a lot of sprites (such as Zx, and P) are on seperate layers for their hair/scarves. SI just uploads the sheets with them combined.
Oh, and I already mentioned about Helios' lighting, and Atlas' flames. There's a very simple and logical reason for it to go over the limit; special effects.
This is the same for Rocking-On/Transing-On. For certain frames, when the character is lighting up, it goes beyond the color limits. That's normal.

They're starting to freak me out now...definitally not what I'm used to seeing.
Maybe it's just this part of the game that is so, and the regular HunterCamp area is multi-layered like the rest are normally. This is just a bit odd though, to see so many rooms connected together with only one layer one them, and not multiple layers. The bg is all connected with the floor you walk over, and isn't a seperate object. Hmn...
(EDIT7)-I guess 7 is a lucky number...because finally we have yet another multi-layer rip. And this one's big as well...in fact, too big. Again, I applogize for not being able to rip the beautiful scenery that lies just at the end of the station. I was really looking forward to ripping that one too. Sorry.
Oh, and this is just the beginning of the rip. I have started train, container frames, and finished the layer of track, but there's one more thing I need to do. And that is to finish ripping the train. That's going to be a bit tough, since is much longer than what I've just ripped, and because I have to rip the moving wheels, as well as a few other containers that are animated. But as for the rest of the bg, I've done it. The only thing that remains is the illusive final layer, and the remainder of the train.
And like I said, I will rip it, but probably not tonight, as it is very late now.

Ofcourse they have more than 18 colors. They have more colors because some things are supposed to be on seperate layers, such as Shiarnaq's skarf and Helios' wind and lightning.
I ripped those from emulator, no tile rip, because I needed those for the game I'm making and I don't have any color limitations there which is why I didn't mind the colors.

I'm talking about the regular sprites...no elemental rock-on effects...
There's a problem with the emulation that causes multiple color problems with the sprites as viewed on the game screen, so it can only be corrected either by going through the sprites and changing the multiple colors to the single color they were suppose to be, or tile-rip them
I already discussed this with Xterra, now if you want me to explain in more detail, I'd be happy to oblige...

As for the train this board leads to, I'm almost done with it. My only problem is getting all those stupid little fragments that Diaburn shatters from the train. I want to make a more complete rip, so I have to get all those pieces. As for the cover on top of the train, my emulation gives a screwed up rip.
It pastes Ashe and Diaburn all over the cover, so I have to turn off that layer to see the rest better, but when I do, the entire thing I'm trying to rip disapears. So, I'll only be able to get the inside of the train's front, not the outside. (those of you who played the game know what I'm talking about)

I'm not stupid. And considering I ripped them, of course I know they're mirrored. If I wanted to crop out the lightning, I could have, but chose not to. If this bugs you too much, I can go in and make the lightnings seperate.
As to why I did not, it's because the lightning's on the same layer.
Previously, when I do a "cut out" like I did with most rips, they were only for objects that were large and animated, or a part of a seperate layer.

I was neither stating you were stupid or that you needed to redo it. I just wanted to know if you set it up that way because that is how it is set up in the game.
I've ordered the sheet according to how it was in ZxA, when animated.
That is exactly how it's set up in the game, the whole reason I did so too.
As for your incredibly long quote. There really is no need for you to do that.
And I know you didn't say I was stupid, but I was telling you I wasn't. Having ripped them myself, of course I knew they were mirrored effects on the containers. I kept them that way though because the containers indeed did not change. Since they stayed the same, it's supposed to remain that way sequentially. That's the same that I did with the HoverCart.
If you look closely there as well, there are duplicate frames. They're in there however, because that's the order in which they're supposed to move.

Now that you mention the hovercart... I never noticed it until now.
I don't blame you. The hovercart's a special case. It's hard to see, but another reason there's the multiple frames is because the small pistons underneath the cart are in motion while the lights fade in and out. So I had to duplicate a few. The duplicates are the frames that have the pistons at the starting position, and have lights like the ones above them.
The frames where the pistons are in a new position, and have similar lights, are actually new frames, so they're not duplicates like the other few were.
There are 2 duplicates in that sheet. The last frame at the bottom right, and the third to last frame on the exact same row.
Those frames are there to show the pattern, and make the sheet look nicer.
(EDIT)-I'm re-uploading Rooms 01-04 later today, with "cleaner" rips.
And I'll have the "gear glow" on the train, and hopefully the top shards to the train as well. I'm still unable to rip the cover screen that is displayed over the train, but I'll do my best to get most of it ripped.
I'm also going to be sending a more full rip of all the wheels, because certain wheels on the train can't be simple C+P jobs of the wheels I'd uploaded earlier. I'll rip the "special wheels" and upload them.

I've seen a only one sprite of model A Grey, and I see the whole sheet of model A Ashe here. Since she's been ripped, and I swore I saw a model A Grey before; yet I don't see it here. I'd rip it myself, but have none of the tools to do such.
There's got to be more then the one sprite in the Model A Pallete...right?

Last I checked, the only Model A(Grey) sprites ripped here was that one breathing pose Baru ripped.
You can use the search function if you don't believe me. I searched "Model A Grey" and the only sprite of Grey's Model A was the single pose.

Maybe Model-GRaY was ripped from another site...because, I swear there were at least 10 frames of GRaY, and not aSHE in it. I'm still searching.
Of course...if it was from another site, then we couldn't use it here.

There's a difference between layers and layered, it's part of the Sprite Layer (whatever the actual name is, but you get the point) but the cables are layered behind Grey on the Sprite Layer.

Like was done for aSHE I was hoping could be done for GRaY, but if the cables are behind, and you can't seperate them, it might make ripping diffucult. The good news is that both "Model-a"s have the same body, so theoretically, if the cables do get ripped, that's all we need.
It'd then be a simple C+P job of putting the cables behind the aSHE (without her hair) that we've already ripped, right? Or would that not count as a rip since we modified the original? To count as a real rip, would this work or not?
Anyway, my hopes are we can just rip Model GRaY normally.
That way we wouldn't have to worry about all of this.
The only major different I can point out between Grey Model A and Ashe Model A is their casual stance. Model A Ashe has a hand on her hip while Grey would stance like a soldier would.
On Model antique? We're talking about antique here, not the regular A.
It's the whole reason I've been typing out GRaY and aSHE.

If I read that right...
Model X shows up at the end of the game after Model Z stays behind to stop the P, H, F, and L models by himself. I don't think he did anything that wasn't in the first game... unless you wanna look around for unused sprites.
That sub-boss shows up in a side quest... you've got to go to the oil stage to find the remains of it. Once you do though, (providing you had the NCP dig through all the rock at the hunter base) you can go see it on display in "your room."
To go with what BBD said;There are two versions of that sub-boss.
The miniature is when you first see it in the oil-field, and the much larger version (more accurate to the size it was in the X games) is the one in display in "your room" that you dug up. Though, I don't know if the larger version is all one sprite, or segmented, because it looks like it's in segments to me. Though I'm certain it's on one single layer.
As for ModelX (rocked-on), he just stands there...not sure if anything special did happen, just like BBD said. Hopefully, you'll find some unused sprites.Why are we spoilering these BBD?

I found some sprites of Model X, like around 10, so if it does have unused with it, you guys will have to tell me when I post them.
And for Utoborus, the ones I found appeared to have been scaled from the original X sprite, but I couldn't tell you if it's the large or small one, unless in the game it's near what looks like a fridge.
Well, show us the Utoborus that you did find, and I can tell you which one it is. Honestly, the differences between are big enough that it's easy to tell.
And I'd be glad to tell you if any of the 10 Model X sprites are unused.

When you pay to clear all of the piles of rubble in the hunters camp there's a large room at the end of the hall that is used for storing items you find in the game like plants, books, and toys. You'll need to find a pickaxe in the quarry to clear the last bit of rubble.
And I believe the jumping sprites for model X were not used
It's more like 12 sprites, but here they are. I have to restart Utoborus anyway but here is what I found.They all look used to me. Model X does dash away from the scene, and leave Z behind, so even though most of the frames were of him standing still, the dashing were indeed used.
Oh, and as for Utoborus, you have fragments of both the smaller and the larger. The partial head you see is from the smaller, and the complete skull that's slightly larger is from the much bigger version. Note: Something new I'm trying, the light purple and dark purple are starter colors, and you change those to the various reds as the some sprites use the same kind of red (usually for the interiors), and that makes palette swapping impossible.

Quick question: Not trying to sound arrogant or selfish; but why weren't the backgrounds I ripped added along with the other recently ripped sprites?

It was intended as a small update, my main priority was fixing some problems Ace had made (Live Metal O in ZXA, 2 copies of the mouse and ball enemy) and I uploaded some stuff to make it seem like I wasn't wasting a news post on deleting 2 sheets and moving one.
The next update I'm planning is going to include some stuff that hadn't been uploaded yet (stage tilesets by MetalMan, X6 cutscenes from Wanderer) and I'll throw whatever else in this thread in too.

Um... if you got rid of all the backgrounds, and screenshot ripped, it could work. Of course the pallete wouldn't be 100% correct, it would be very very VERY close, and you can always use the palletes from other sprites in ZX.

You can't disable layers in No$gba. He'll have to either use a different emulator for DS games or tile-rip the sprites from game data.

I doubt it, and since the correct pallets are on the front page, colors should be the least of our worries...
IF I could figure out how to tile rip from the DS properly, I might try ripping some stuff. I want to try ripping stuff, but the few programs I find always seem to have a missing application or file and won't run...
It's unlikely I'll try to work around this since I have more important things to do, but If I'm bored and get interested in this again, I might as Barubary for some help with the program and see if I can't help with any of this...

Also, I ripped some tiles from the third mini-game stage.
They're already on the site, but the guy who ripped them forgot the background tiles. I had to beat the game on both normal and hard mode just to get them.

Vulturon (Condorock) and Rospark. I've got personal reasons for needing those sprites and don't have the resources or experience to trust myself to rip them.

yeah i know I will add the standing sprites. And also before I get the Ashe version, Im going to beat the game on expert so I can get boss battle mode, that way I can play any boss whenever. Ideas is a crappy emulator, and even with cheats, it still hard. It took forever to beat Flying Fortress (Wind Megaman's stage)because not only was the wind blowing, but the emulator offsets the layers; so u can't tell whether you jumped on a platform or not. (I already beat everything on no$gba, but it can hide the bg layers, so sprite ripping is out of the question)

Unfortunately, he's not quite complete yet. For starters, his sprites haven't been recolored to the correct pallette yet. I'll do it once I'll get all of his sprites ripped, which leads me to my big problem:

These four poses are from when Condorrock brings the house down, by dropping those pumpkinhead spotlights and blowing the amps out. Unfortunately, his stupid lifebar keeps covering his left hand, so I can never get a complete rip of those four frames. Also, his guitar swing in the fourth frame goes off the screen. I can't disable the layer for the lifebars without disabling the layer for all the rest of the sprites. All the OAM viewer keeps giving me are the lifebars, no matter which setting I futz with. And the tile viewer hasn't given me anything useful (either that I'm just not using it right). Any ideas? The emulator I'm using is desmume-9.5, which I know sucks, but it's the only emulator I can find that'll reliably play this game. And I already read the tile-ripping tutorial. The only method it lists for DS doesn't even work for MM games. And I haven't gotten anything useful using Tile GGD and DSLazy.

-_- Yes I know. I already said I haven't had much luck with that. The tile viewer keeps giving me garbled-up crap, and OAM viewer just keeps giving me the lifebar. And I've futzed around with all the settings with both of those. I messed around with the palettes, the number of colors, and looked at god only knows how many objects and backgrounds and still got nothing. Is there some sort of setting that normally works for these games that I keep missing or something?
And again, the tile-ripping tutorial here is no good, since the only technique it talks about doesn't work for MM games.

Heh. My thoughts exactly. It's like teaching someone to play baseball...by teaching them how to play basketball. Okay, to be fair, the technique that's talked about in the tutorial probablly works fine for Castlevania games. But it would've been more useful to get tile ripping technique that works for DS Megaman games seeing as, well, we mostly deal with Megaman sprites.
But Vulturon wouldn't be the first guy for ZXA to get tile ripped. How were guys like Albert nabbed?

I dunno about Albert and the like, but in my personal opinion and experience, the tutorials are mainly guidelines. You have to build your own methods based on the individual games you rip from, since the creators all format their stuff in a different way.
I'm hoping this is the right place to post these, if not, I'm terribly sorry. Anyways, the quiz advent seems to have a sprite for phantom that isn't used anywhere else in the game, I'm curious as to why nobody seems to have posted it so far, anyways here it is for you.
I have provided the screenshot from which I cleaned it from, regular size, and a 3x size so you can have a better look at it.

This is the pose he assumes when he does his "EX Skill." It is the technique where he creates 4 clones in midair and tosses kunai at you, one clone at a time.
Since Siarnaq has not been completely ripped, this images where not in any of his sprite sheets
After some experience with RnR and RM9/10, here's a similar tool for the ZXA sprites; download here (http://www.propl.nl/random/ZXASheetViewer.zip). Please note that it does not support all files. Some use a different animation format, while others may not have a palette in their file. (and Albert's wings are still the same odd palette)
Usage instructions:
- download the program linked above, and the obj_fnt and obj_dat files (http://www.propl.nl/random/ZXA_obj_files.zip).
- Extract the archive with fnt and dat files into a folder that does not contain any part 'dat' or 'fnt' in the path. Thus at the end there should be a folder containing the two subfolders 'obj_fnt files' and 'obj_dat files', of which no parent folder contains either 'dat' or 'fnt' in any part of their name. * Feel free to move the two folders somewhere else, as long as they are both in the same folder.
- Open the program, and drag any file from either folder into it to view the contents.
- Use Home/End to toggle between palettes, or use the Settings->Palette menu. The available palettes are from both the dat and fnt file.
- Use the Image menu or the shortcuts displayed in the menu to copy the image to the clipboard or save it as a png file.
- Some files from obj_dat do contain extra palettes, but they are ignored by this program.
* At least, it may not contain both. If it contains only 'dat' somewhere in the path, only open files from obj_fnt.bin, and vice-versa. This is because the program will automatically get the other file by replacing 'fnt' or 'dat' with the other.

Still the same error, or do the sprite files not open? That error (with the same error code) should be gone if you have the .NET redistributable installed. =/

Probably, but many of the data files can't be read with Babubary's ZXA Sheet Viewer.

Some didn't decompress correctly either. I think someone should just extract all the sprites form the archive (about 2 hours of work) and just upload that. People can pull the sprites they want from it and it can be grouped and organized for submission. I did this for the Star Force sprites and it's more convenient than opening all the BINS over and over again..

I don't think it's same because of their shirts and helmets. Especially Aeolus. Never mind about what I was ask to seek Grey and Atlas sheet because I had found the sheets somewhere in this thread.
By the way, few of my friends from DeviantART had ripped few of Thetis and Aeolus's attacks. If this makes you interested, I can show you the sheets from my friend's gallery

I tried rip Atlas movements when she jump and the part she turn back to see Grey/Ashe. And here it is

I've hopefully uploaded most of the un-uploaded sprites in this thread so far. Hopefully. This includes the unfinished Atlas sheet, which could do with a tilerip to remove the effects at some point. I may look into it.
