Remember the old days of Toonami? Remember when all of your favorite anime was on right after you came home from school? Those were the good old days.

Well, considering how they're playing Samurai Jack again, they can't be all that bad. But yea, I know what you mean. I wish they'd play some of the older anime again. Or hell, something new. Just, not Naruto. Naruto's gotten old. REALLY QUICKLY. At least Adult Swim makes up for Toonami's slack.

Nope. Toonami started out as an after school program where you could watch alot of the cooler, older anime. Like Yu-Yu Hakusho, DBZ, Tenchi Muyo. That kinda stuff. Toonami aired it all.

I don't like new Toonami. It's on too late and only seems to air Naruto. Even KidsWB stopped being after-school.......shortly after they stopped airing Axess in fact.

They only good thing about Toonami being on late Saturday nights is that they'll let more blood be shown on the programs it airs. They used to be pretty strict about it in the old days.

I remember back when Toonami aired Thundercats and Ronin Warriors and Voltron. Kick ass. Man that was fun. Every day after school. DBZ. And it was new, everyday, unlike the anime now that you have to wait a week for, which pisses me off massively. Toonami is still alright, except the only thing good on it is Naruto, and at the point it is now, it won't be really good again until Shippuden. (Or however you spell it. Sorry, I like Naruto. Sue me.)

Also saying that AS makes up for Toonami's slack is a lie. They USED to make up for it, but that was back when Toonami didn't exactly suck balls like it does now. As far as I can see now, AS pretty much hates anime, only airing the good ones once a week and taking Yu Yu Hakusho off a long time ago. Sorry, but I want action more than once a week, thanks guys.

Yu Yu Hakusho apparently didn't get good enough ratings, so after it aired its final episode, AS pulled it from rotation. But Bleach more than makes up for it in my opinion.

@The Masked Man: Naruto's good. I like it. I just don't like that they censored it. Half the stuff they cut out was FUNNY. (sue me, and I nuke you!)

Now I miss Ronin Warriors... Ah well... At least Samurai Jack's back. Maybe now they'll start airing new episodes after they air the ones they have now.

And not Toonami related, but Cartoon Network (Toonami and Adult Swim's parent channel) Recently started re-airing Courage the cowardly Dog. (YAY!!! *does the happy dance*) Maybe they're going retro on us...

TMM: What are you talking about? AS airs alot of anime, and not just on saturdays. I've seen Death Note on the weekdays and that isn't a bad anime at all. Hell, AS is starting to air Code Geass now(starts this saturday). I can't wait for that. Although, I see your point of wanting action more than once a week. Which is why I read books. Plenty of action in there. As long as you read the right book anyway.

Tenchi...Outlaw Star..Gundam..DB/DBZ...Kenshin...WHAT HAPPENED TOONAMI? Dammit they started going downhill when they started airing that OTHER stupid after school segment..migoozi or something? idk but it was gay. I used to look forward to my daily 5:30 segments of DBZ. And now what? no. First of all, they killed off all the Toms. ALL OF THEM. One in an elevator, and the newest one God knows where he went..last I checked there was a floating robotic face with an immature voice on Toonami. It's like friggin A Cartoon Network! I wish I had the Anime tv Channel but it costs extra..you just can't replace the old with the new...

You forget: Censors. Unedited DBZ will never be shown on tv except for late at night. Actually, I think that for a shot time AS aired unedited DBZ.

Now that I think about it, Clank form Ratchet and Clank looks a lot like the original TOM. (Watching the old Intuder series right now.)

I don't think Gurren Lagann is even Dubbed yet. It's not on Adult Swim anyway. And I HIGHLY doubt it'll ever be on Toonami. It's too awesome and swears alot. Right now, the only thing redeeming Toonami is that it's started to re air Samurai Jack.

It might not be Toonami's fault. There's just too many good animes that are too high a rating for it... and not enough lower rating shows being made. They just might not be able to get their hands on the good stuff. Legal issues and all that.

Give it time. It'll return to the good days. If AS is any indication.
((Really AS goes cycles from crap invading anime day saturday and nearly taking over the whole day... To all the good stuff, like it is right now.
(bleach, death note, code gease, four different episodes of inuyasha).
It will suprise us one day, with some awesome anime no one thought would be there.


My question is... Right after adult swim they usually have some more kid friendly anime and old school shows on before they go back to the normal cartoon network shows. Why don't they put those on toonami?

Ugh... Rurouni Kenshin was alright but Kenshin pissed me off too much for me to get too into it(I hated that damn "it's great to see you, yes it is" crap. It BUGS ME TO NO END!!!). I honestly want to see YuYu Hakusho back on there. I mean, they never really finished it. Unless you count when they aired it at like 6:30 in the morning for a good while.
