View Full Version : Mario Kart Tourney?

Looks like the Euro release of Smash Brothers is a way off. How-ever the US release of Mario Kart Wii is close to hand.
Would anyone participate in a Mario Kart Tourney? The Game's Friend features are good enough for mods (read, judges) to set up special games for the matches.. and.. etc.

Also - lag doesn't seem to be a issue like it is in Smash Brothers - in fact, I haven't noticed any lag, ever, while playing. What-ever they've done to Mario Kart, has been done very well.

So, yes. Would anyone participate? I am considering an prize for winning, though what that prize would be I haven't decided. This of course all depends on whether we'd get enough people to join in, AND we'd need judges (people there to check if people are playing fair, and of course, to record score.)

Thoughts?

I'd judge if I'd get the game anytime soon =/

I love Mario Cart and I'll get the game as soon as I have some extra money to burn. Just how awesome is it, by the way?

Mario Kart Wii = Best Mario Kart Game Ever. IMO. Possibly betters the SNES verison.

Why? Retro tracks. Awesome. Mostly awesome new tracks. Awesome. No snaking. Awesome. Insane items. Awesome. 12 racers. Awesome. Online play. Awesome. and No snaking. Awesome.

Oh, and no snaking. =D
I honestly can't believe how much they've improved going round corners. No more wiggling, and...
No snaking. =D

We're going SHT round the corner...

I think I'll buy freeloader for the Wii, and SSBB and MK using the money from my Bar mizvah.

Snake haters. *Mumbles something about it not being cheating*

Anyways, I would love to join as well. As long as I have ample time to get my bearings with it. Since I no longer have a job, that shouldn't take long. >_>

Well I do have 10 thousand Shequalim, and Brawl costs 325, freeloader costs 150 and I suppouse Mario Kart won't be much more... or less... Than brawl. So maybe I should, thinking as he's gonna sell the Europe versions for 375 instead of 325.
So, if I find one more good game thats released in US First, I should have made a fair deal. :D

Hope I can persuade my brother to let me buy us a freeloader. He'll hait me if I do it without his permission D: (He bought the Wii...And he likes keeping his nintendos legal. He doesn't understand freeloader is legal.)

On a slightly more related side note, whats "snaking"?

A somewhat annoying technique that gives people who are able to do it an insane lead that other players cannot catch up on.
It may or may not be cheating but it sure took the fun out of the game when you had NO chance of winning thanks to some goit mastering the tricky technique. It also takes the skill of of driving and basically makes items worthless.

And, as I said, it takes the fun out of the game. The new sliding is a vast improvement. It also makes more sense in the context of the game.

Lemme guess; you think wave-dashing is a fair technique, too?

Honestly, just because it's within the game's perameters and it's not technically a glitch doesn't mean it's fair. It's easy to abuse and gets in the way of actually playing the game, so they took it out (finally). What's so hard to understand about that?

I'm up for a tourney.

I never really experienced any snakers on MK: DS so I only have stories to go on. But I love the new Mario Kart. Online play has been perfect for me so far, I don't think I've seen any lag.

Actually no. I was referring to snake-on-snake races, those are pretty fun. I hate playing people with an unfair advantage.

And I hate Wavedashing. I'm glad they took it out for Brawl, online matches would be stupid annoying.

And that's why i'm so glad Snaking was removed. :D
