Very Important:

Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning direct from both Microsoft and Norton.

Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.

You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation "Life is beautiful." If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately.

If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful." Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the
antivirus software's are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner."

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS and ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY.

It's pretty careless to open those kinds of messages.

I wish this was EXE, cuz we could destroy this virus and be done with it. But it will never happen. Pity!

Wow, I never open emails unless I know who the person is that sends it usually, but most spam emails, at least the ones I get, have random letters and names put together. The word turnip seems popular.

And while it may be careless, many non computer savy people are in danger, they don't know any better.

I delete all my email anyway.
(No, not even the stuff from people I know. That goes on the "maybe" pile :D)

Don't.

This is a hoax virus warning and is just sent out to clog up the Internet with fake, alarmist messages and give the person who originated it a cheap laugh at the gullibility of people on the Internet.

Warning signs that a "virus warning" is a hyped up hoax:
- claims to be from Microsoft (MS don't issue virus warnings as such, they leave it up to the anti-virus companies)
- targets EVERYONE who uses the Internet (so everyone panics)
- claims that no anti-virus software can kill it (they do. I guess that's why they are called "anti-virus" )
- warns of dire and shattering consequences (doom! gloom! panic! :g-Rolleyes: )

If in any doubt, you can check out www.antivirus.com which is a site that lists all known viruses.

See. There you go. You make fun of a virus, and then toy with it like in comics. Even if that was real, I wouldn't open it.

Maybe it's an E-mail collector. You know, he sez: Send to everyone you know!
Usualy people use forward to all, and if that's the case, the reciver gets all E-mail adresses, including his own. After time, the sender has alot of E-mails, and sells then to spammers. End story.

Even if it is, it's good to be aware to never ever to open E-Mail from people you don't know. Many people have actually had this E-Mail, my friend for one, thats why I thought it was important to post it here.

Viruses are stupid. They're here for making panic and confusion. One day there will be no more viruses. But not for a LONG, LONG TIME!

Yep, it's a hoax.

Google the virus, you find sites like Symantec and McAfee explaining that the virus is fake.

This warning about a Microsoft PowerPoint file named "Life is Beautiful" carrying a a computer-destroying virus is a hoax, one that has been with us since at least January 2002. It originally circulated in Portuguese but was later translated into English and a host of other languages.

Although this particular example is a hoax, PowerPoint presentations can contain viruses, so prudent computer users should always check downloaded or e-mailed PowerPoint presentations (and all other non-text attachments) before opening them.

In September 2002 this hoax was circulated anew as "Everything is Beautiful," and it popped up again in 2003 re-titled as "Life is Wonderful."
