Just asking, does anyone here know how to make transparent sprites using Microsoft Paint? You know, where the sprite appears faded and the background is visible through them, like a hologram?
It's... possible, I suppose. Let me see if I can dig up an example.

I'm not sure it is using MS Paint only. There are alot of free programs out there with transparency though (legal ones). Google Paint.net or GIMP.
Well, you can, but it's really not what you're looking for. If you want, I can put an example together, but like I said, it's not at all what you're looking for.

No, I don't need you to make a sample, but thanks for the offer. I just wanted to ask and check if there was a way. Thanks for your help.
This is how I used to do it before Photoshop (in which you can just set the opacity).

Those just blink and dissapear.
Yeah, that's just like taking a gif image of the item and a white frame and switching them at a faster and faster rate until making it only white (or a transparent frame in this case).

How do you do the dots? I don't understand this method of yours?
Transparent and MS paint?
Nope, Sorry.
I think you are meaning the transparent, like, a part of the sprite is fading out...

I just didn't understand the pixelating layer part of the process. I was interested in doing this in Paint.

Hello mr "lets totally ignore what the topic is about".
Try using the actual introduction topic.
EDIT: In case anyone was wondering - someone posted a "HI!!!" post.

Spammer!
Anyways, still wondering how to do that.
There's another more time consuming and less consistent way of doing this in MS Paint.
What you have to do the Edit Colors ... function to find a mid point between the two colours. For example, if you wanna make a dark green transpsrent, then you'll only have to increase the luminosity (or slide the arrow on the side upwards).
But in the end, you're probably better off using a graphics program.
I know of a way to do it, similar to the one posted by KA_Oz

Step 1) get a background and the sprite you want to be transparent
Step 2) select the background and the sprite with the select tool and double it's size. Also make a grid as seen in 2.2. Put the grid over the 2x sprite to create something similar to 2.3. Turn the colour used for the grid white (or your prefered colour for transparency) to create something simiklar to 2.4.
Step 3) Place your new 2x sprite over the background.
Step 4) WITHOUT selecting the background with the select tool shrink it back to it's normal size.
The sprite should now be transparent.
The only way I know how to do this is Photoshop, with the opacity feature.
