I see at the bottem of the page on the front page a symbol with the word, This forum has ben closed for posting. Has any part of the forum been closed before?

Yeah I think so. I think I remember some part being closed for maintanence or something.

That feature is commonly used for forum archives or announcement sections.

Like normally in other boards Staff only, Admins/Mods can make it so that no one can post in the board/threads.
