...on Bravo, of all channels.

Flextech’s Bravo Takes Adult Swim to the U.K.

LONDON, June 8: The male-targeted Bravo channel in the U.K. is set to launch a new animation strand, bringing Cartoon Network U.S.’s hit late-night block Adult Swim to the British market.

This is the first Adult Swim block on a third-party channel, and Turner Broadcasting System aims to work with other broadcasters in the region on rolling out the block for the 18 to 34 set.

The deal gives Bravo access to the Adult Swim brand and to shows from across the Adult Swim original library. The deal also covers VOD rights to the programming. Bravo will also acquire British content for the block, which launches this summer and will air seven nights a week.

Jonathan Webb, the director of programs at Bravo, Trouble and Challenge, notes, “I am a massive fan of Adult Swim and this is a major coup for Bravo. It is a deal on the scale of Football Italia and represents the next development of Bravo’s programming strategy. While other channels are filling their late-night slots with low grade, late-night quiz shows, Bravo is committed to investing in quality animation to make the channel the ultimate post-pub viewing destination.”

Alan Musa, the VP of Adult Swim, added, “[Bravo’s] target audience is perfect for Adult Swim’s programming and provides the right environment for thought-provoking, challenging and hilarious animation. Bravo is an ideal partner to showcase Adult Swim and other innovative shows in the U.K”

YOSH. I hope they keep the black card intro things. Being Flextech (they do UKTV Gold, Living et al) it might get some decent promotion as well. Also, I guess it's better for Bravo to air things that don't involve car crashes and football hooligans...

Oh yes, this should be very nice indeed, especially as CN UK don't have it, as they would only cock it up. bravo seems like a suited enough place for it, seeing as they've shown adult animation on there before (Ok, so Striperella is hardly something to be proud of, but..)

Whats wrong with things involving car crashes? I love those shows! XD.

Good news this is. Bad news is we'll get Family Guy back on UKTv (which wasnt a good show to begin with),
Good news is we'll hopefully get Robot Chicken.
Huzzah all round anyway.

The good
- Kickass, I could do with some more Robot Chicken and Aqua Teens.
- They show anime as well dont they? Ok, I have all of Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Alchemist, but NOW I can watch it on TV! ...Err...

The bad
- I dont have sky anymore. I really should, even though I'd only watch
A) Sports
B) Cartoons
C) Comedy
D) VH1 and 2
and end up paying for the 239829 channels I wont watch, but damn it, I want cartoons!

I think you can get Bravo (along with CN and Toonami) on the Top Up thingy you can buy for Freeview, which costs about £8 a month for an extra 15 channels or so. Don't quote me on this, though.

^ Not much point in doing that. CN makes me cry with Fosters (how do I know? My 3 year old cousin loves it), and Toonami nows shows non-animated comedies. For the lose.

I've heard of Robot Chicken, and I want to see what it's like. And I havent seen a Cowboy Bebop show in god knows how long.

Foster's is brillian man! Although they did make Cartoon Network 2 however in recent months, the only new good show they required was Johnny Test, all the others (like that Mr Copper thing and life with Drake or something) have been utter shite (well to me anyway) they've gone down the road of Fox Kids/Jetix

Great to see that Bravo's going to air it, the only other channel I could have seen doing it was Sci-fi but meh, too late for them. so do we have a date when it will start? I'd like to see some Trigun or Robot Chicken sometime soon.

Don't bother sticking up for those shows by saying "imo", Aki-At. Those live action shows have no place on Cartoon network.

Your right, I don't actually know why I said that now, and they don't appear on Cartoon Network, they appear on Toonami (of course thats just as worse XD)

I heard in America, Pee Wee's Playhouse is coming to Adult Swim. A double edged sword, since it's a continuation of Cartoon Network's decline into just Network, and because Pee Wee was the shite.

I'd like to express in the most sincere possible way, that ANYONE who doesn't like Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, should have their heart cut out.

I can't bring myself to like that show. I just can't. Do your worst.

And aren't we getting a bit off-topic?

Foster's is decent as is most Hanna barbara. Always thought the character blue was a right C.U.NextTuesday however (still funny though).

Otherwise Adult swim, cartoon network, same topic to me.

Fosters is definaly oneof the better cartoons on telly right now, although its by no means going to be a classic in the future, as much as CN like to think it already is by airing it on Boomerang O_o
