Well, this is the game the contest Robot Masters are going to be in. Haven't done a demo yet, but I do have a screenshot.

Yes, that is Magma Man. Who is going to pawn me in the next five seconds after the picture was taken. He's that challaging. Well, I have a story, but not a very good one... here it is:
Dr. Wily is trying to take over the world (again), but he's decided to go all out war on the world. This is strange, as he acts like he wants to protect something he's found...
Well, anyway, There are 8 new robot masters and they are the ones from the contest I had. Well, most of them are...
The game will play like the orginal games, but with a few twists. For example, if you use the weapon you get from Magma Man underwater, it'll cool down and harden so you can use it a platform. This is one of the few things that will happen when you use weapons in different settings.
Ok, I'll post a demo as soon as I can. Suggestions?

Photonman's weapon should be able to pierce any shields, but is unusable underwater.

Although, if you can, make a boss in a water level WEAK to Photon Pulse.

That way, if a boss room is partially submerged, one must maneuver themselves strategically to not only avoid the bosses attacks, but also to inflict maximum damage in the least amount of time.

Those are the ones that are in without a doubt.
I'll probaly make the other three unless you guys can make really good ones, ones with either Wind, Ice, or water elements.

I think Megaman should get some type of Partner, you know that you could switch between in Game-Play back and forth, like MMX8. Now that, that would be awesome.

Element: Ice(duh)
Attacks:
1)Icicle Shooter: Primary attack. Goes fast, but doesn't take away much health.
2)Frozen Tundra: Creates a giant icicle from the ground at a random place from his front and back. Does this 3 times before stopping.(pauses inbetween every 2)
3)Snowball Launcher: Fires snow balls from snow crown on head that jump twords Megaman. Fires 7.(second-long pauses inbetween)

Do I need anthing else?

If you decide to have charged boss weapons, Phaseman's regular weapon is the phase strike(his cross weapon) and charged is the phase crash or phase kick(phase kick in the air)

Oh, for phaseman's desperation attack, he keeps phasing back and forth between the left and right sides of the room, and throws 3 or four of those cross things rapidfire.

Ok. The demo is almost done, so expect it soon. Oh yea, the despration attacks are just an effect an attack the boss already does, for example, Magma Man's despration attack is that when he slams the ground, magma balls fall from the ceiling. Its that simple, but adds a element of surprise.

I had an Idea that came to me just right now. You know like in all MMX games you get a life expantion? well could you do the same thing in this game too? it would be more like a side mission to find all life expantions to help you through the game.

Whats in the demo:
Physics (duh)
which include:
Sliding
Shooting
Ladders
and other things.
Boss (MagmaMan)
MagmaMan's stage (duh)
Stage select
Game overs (you'll start out with 10 lives though. You'll need them)
Enemies! (Mets included)
And thats about it.
Controls are as follows:
A = jump
S = shoot
Down + A = slide
Space = select stage (only Magma Man's picture works)
Comments? Suggestions? Please say some :D

I know, I haven't quite figured that one out it.
Challange: Can you beat that stage? I have issues trying to, which means I haven't yet. However, I've beaten it without the eneimes, so it is possible.
Any music suggestions? Also, if you want to, you can make music for the game. If I approve of it and if it sounds like it would fit into a Megaman game AND if it is in MP3 mode.

You put in quite a few surprising things. Like in that first little cavern thing, I did not expect that drill car. And that platform that you ride through the lava, when I got to it, I didn't know what to do next(before it fell) and I jumped. Well, it fell while I was in the air and I hit the lava. Oops.

Lol. Thats funny. Yea, watch out for the drill cars and the falling blocks. The falling blocks are the major theme in Dragon Man's stage though :D . Maybe I've shouldn't have told you :g-ninja: . Oh well. If you haven't noticed yet, there is several glicthes. The main being that you'll get hit and can't jump. I haven't figured out why it does that, but I will find a way to fix it! Also, when you try climbing, you may end up next to the ladder instead. Just press A and then re-orintate yourself. Any more bugs or glitches?

There is three per stage. The beginning, the middle, and before the boss. The middle is after 2 big rooms, then 2 small ones, and then a another big room. Then you have 2 big rooms, about 4 small rooms, then another big room. Then your at the boss. Also, the boss may glitch and get stuck, haven't figured out what causes this, but its annoying when he gets stuck as his standing sprite, as you can't hurt him. When you defeat the boss, nothing happens. Just so you know.

I think there are too many enemies in MagmaMan's level, but if you added heath restorers(sp) it would be a tad easier.
Also, is IcicleMan going to be in it? I have a mugshot.

Ok I have two things to say. Your game is awsome I loved it even though it was really hard if I were to rate it I would give it a 10/10! but now down to bissness. I have one question for you are you ganna use my idea? you know about finding life expantions inside the boss lvls? if not than that's ok if you don't use my idea.oh and for the full idea I had refur (sp) to page 3 and look down to find my post.

MAJOR GLITCH:

If you take damage while sliding, you will be frozen in a standing position, unable to move, shoot, jump, or slide.

Also, there is a slight graphic oddity. When rockman shoots, his head is stationary, and his body moves to adjust. this should be the other way around. The FEET should stay stationary, and rock should lean forward whilst shooting.

Also, I love how reflected shots inflict damage. :)

Yea, I already know about those two glicthes. Both of them are in the sniper joe game. The reflected bullets are suppose to do that.

Alright, here they are:

Megaman (duh)
Bass
Protoman (admit it, you wanted to play as him)
Met (A met, and thats his name)
Jett Indie (A sniper joe, same one from my sniper joe game)
??? (the OC. Its a female.)

??? is a secert till the demo. You'll like her.

As for gameplay style, I'm a horrible seceret keeper (and I feel nice), so the game play style since I've always wanted to do it, is Metroid 2D Style. You know, where you have to explore and such. Because of this, I'll be using regular bosses too (the capcom made ones).
Suggestions?

As for weapon getting, It'll be something of the same, BUT not all bosses give you weapons.

Also, the weapons will help you advance by helping you reach hard-to-reach places...

Y'know what would be interesting?
certain enemies drop ammo for special weapons uyou can collect as you go through the game. There could be spread guns, machine guns, etc.

And I think Megaman should change more than his color when he's using a boss power. Like maybe he gains their armor instead of just their power. And the weapon could have unlimited ammo, with changed stats.
Like knight armor moves slower and can't jump as high, but the attacks are stronger.
How's that idea?

I don't know. I may not change colors, but no armor. Each character will do something different when they obtain a weapon.

For special ammo things, that would make the game more intersting... no promises though.

Here's a few ideas for weapons:
Vacuum Gun: Suck Up small enemies(like mettaur size) and use as ammo.
Mega Fist: Buster gets replaced with an rocket fist attack
Spread Blaster: Gun fires in three directions
trip Wire: Launch one end of wire and pull the other end along with you to slice enemies.
Stealth Mode: Short lived invincibility/invisibility. One shot, can only hold one ammo. Very rare.

And why isn't the armor a good idea? Instead of gaining powers like megaman, one character could gain their armor.

Lets see, the usable weapons you got:
Vacuum Gun: Yes. I'll put in Dust Man for that weapon (Not required to get, but needed to unlock secert :D )
Mega Fist: Nay. Don't like.
Spread Blaster: The Met can do that already XD
Trip Wire: Hum. I'll think on that, but I won't tell you if I put it in or not.
Stealth Mode: Same as Vacuum Gun, but you need to fight a BIG boss to get it. (I'll make the boss super hard)
For the Met, I'll do the armor thing. I've seen it done before and it was pretty cool. (Hard Hat 3 is where I saw it. You should play it.)

I guess, but none of the characters would really go well with the armor idea. (The OC has a gun that changes color.)
As for the Met armor, what would change would be the hat, i.e. If the Met beat Needle Man, he would get a Needle Man's top head thingy, and if he beats Knight Man, he'll get Knight Man's helmet.

Also, the requirements for doing characters is that that character needs to
a) Slide or Dash (Can't have both)
b) Charge or 8-dir fire (Same as above)
c)Something special (Like block or Tri-Shot for the Met or Throwing grenedes for Jett Indie.)
d) Think MM&B/F (Thats how I got the idea to do Bass XD)
Lets see, that brings the count of playable characters to 7 :D . I'll be accepting 2 more characters if you do the above and make their sprites. Ok?

For his special ability: Can switch between melee and buster attacks. While in melee mode, he can do wall jumps.
Personally, I like Grunge best. I'll get to work on a design.

No. Have you ever played MM Power battles or power fighters? Y'know how you could jump off the walls to avoid enemy attacks? That's basically what it is. Except it can be used to travel up vertical hallways that other characters wouldn't be able to go up. He could do this to access secret armors and such. Maybe new melee techniques.

Oh, and here's a standing sprite for him.

Grunge has five frames... I'm sure that's not a problem.

I'm also gonna design Grunge's creator, Dr. Talick... she can apear in a hologram every time he gets a power in order to explain what it does.

oh, and here's a basic overview of grunge's abilities:
Grunge Buster: Single directional buster with no charge.
Grunge Fist: Melee fist attack that can't be used while running, but the momentum moves him forward slightly with each punch
Kick Jump: Can jump off of walls while in melee mode in order to avoid enemy attacks. can also be used to ascend vertical hallways.

Gained powers(non RM powers)-
Earth Breaker Wave: While in melee mode, press down and punch to unleash a short seismic wave. Use in air to slam on ground
Grunge Missile: Charge Grunge Buster to use a short range missile
Rocket Uppercut: Hold up and punch to use an uppercut. Can't be used in air.

Armor Gain: Gains armor from defeated bosses. These armor can change his abilities such as speed, attack power, and jump height.

Well, I decided he'd do a little victory thing every time you beat a boss, and it'll be different depending on whether you're in melee or buster mode. That's his melee victory thing... just looped.

Most defintaly. I've *almost* perfected megaman game ladder movement. Theres only one, that I know of, glitch with it, but I have yet to solve it.
EDIT: Could you do his shots too? And also, does his shots go through walls? Or stop like Bass's in MM&B?

I've been changing Bass' power fighters sprites so the animations will be a bit more like the original 8-bit megaman movements, still gotta do his 8-way shot. And will you need his Treble/Bass sprites as well? Cause I'd probably have to scratch those.

Oh, and would it be okay if I made another character in addition to Grunge?

How about Rhythm? A female character. Temporary gliding ability, like the jet suit from MM6, and an 8-way buster.

Lament isn't a type of music...
it's just saying that lament(or sorrow) can be expressed through songs, etc.


and I got the idea for Rhythm from the back of a MMBN comic book. :g-laugh: The author was talking about how rockman had a girlfriend character and Blues didn't... and he wanted to come up with something that was similar to Rock and Roll. So he came up with Rhythm and Blues.

Yes, Grey can be spelled Grey or Gray. It doesn't matter, but I've always spelled it Grey.

And Greyman can fire 8-ways as well. He can fire boss weapons in 8 directions, and will have a wall kick similar to the X series wall kick. He'll also be able to find hidden abilities to add to his attack arsenal. I'm still deciding on them but here's on of them:
Grey wave- when this power is activated, his 8-way shot will be disabled, and he'll be able to charge. If he releases the charge while holding down, you release a burst shot to the left and right of him.

I'll get to work on Rhythm and greyman as soon as possible.

Oh, and all of Grunge's movements are done. He can only do a single punch in the air, as opposed to his one-two punch. I added his bullet shot, too. Make sure the shot is animated.

That's not 100% true. The majority of the weapons weren't multidirectional, so he was able to walk while using them. So when Bass is using a boss power that he can't aim, he'll be able to move while using it.

Yeah. Forgot about that. She can run faster and etc. because she's lighter, so she gets knocked back farther, and gets damaged more from attacks. But You can find a power up that'll make her armor about equal to the other characters at the start of the game(the strength the other character's starting armor will be at the start. The powerup shouldn't be at the start of the game)

The story is more or less a secert, as because it needs to be more made out, but the reason its an open-ended style is because Dr. Wily is on an island along with all the bosses, and I've wanted to do a game in this style. As for the final boss, here is a spoiler:
It's not Dr. Wily and you can't beat him. See next spoiler for why.
Also, this game Is the first of a trilogy.
And Jace, like King said, make the face more visible.
Also, Jace, could you make more sprites for the intro boss, like firing the cannon and the trends moving?
As for teleporting, Dr. Wily has an anti-teleporting force field (for lack of orginality) around the island.

No problem, you know how the Power Fighters/Battles' Napalm man can shoot missles? Well thats what he does, they pack more power than other char.s' shots but he can only shoot one at a time and when they hit an enemy or wall they explode and hurt's enemies caught in it. He can shoot upwards,left, and right but that's it.

His acquired weapons are a little different than others though. They are different in the fact that all they do is give his standard shot new properties like Ice missiles, bigger explosions, spread shot, etc.

Sound good?

A little bit of something different.

I made this little dude to use on the character select screen. When you choose a character, a couple of panels could come up(similar to in MM&B) that show what the character can do. Instead of doing art for each character doing this action, we'll just use this dude in different poses to symbolize the action. That way it can be reused for characters with similar abilities.

I'm having ANOTHER gameplay change. It'll be more like a classic Megaman game with Stage Select, but it'll have MM&B stage select style (I had no problems with it), and fortress bosses. HOWEVER, it'll be Castlevania-style gameplay. Meaning Stats. And you will bea able to find paths to other stages in a stage. i.e. In Magma Man's stage, you can find a path to Dragon Man's stage (this will be in the actul game).
And yes, there will be an intro stage.

Things/ideas that are being dropped:
Voice acting (Sorry, but I don't want to deal with it)
Capcom made bosses

Things that are added:
Stage Select
Acess to Intro Stage after beating (There will be hidden stuff in there.)

Things being kept:
Character select
Ladders (pain to program, but yea...)

Also, I need some people to rip backgrounds and sounds from the first 6 megaman games. And I need someone to assemble Tilesets for me.
