Ok, the new section is comming up, and you guys get to help contribute to it! But, in order to do so, you've got to fallow the fallowing rules:

1- Post any and all submissions at the PD submission forum section please. Make sure you fallow the submission system guidelines that ACE_Spark posted.

2- All file formats must either be .PNG or .gif. There's no exception to this rule, and any .JPG format files will automatically be turned down.

3- When you submit your sprites, be sure to say: What your name is, what style the sprite(s) is in, who the character is suppose to be, and any other comments you might have about the sprite(s).

4- Make sure you realize that PD means Public Domain. And make sure you know that means, that people can use your sprites for whatever they want with out your premission.

5- We can't make the user of your sprites give you credit, but it is preferred and courteous.

6- Don't submit sprites that aren't yours. If we catch you doing this, we'll punish you to fullest extent we can. (That might even include banning your IP address.)

7- Sprites have to be from the Megaman universe in some way. (This includes TV shows or comics, or any non-cannon characters.)
7appended- How-ever, you MAY submit non-Megaman universe characters, providing they use a Megaman style, and only then if they get the style correct. Any non-Megaman universe, non-Megaman style characters will NOT be accepted, period.

8- Megaman character submissions don't have to be in a Megaman sprite style. You could submit a Megaman PD sprite in Fire Emblum or Final Fantasy style for example. How-ever, again, they must get the style correct.

9- Should you use an base for creating another character, the edit must not in any way resemble the character you've edited. Do your best to change the poses.

10- We don't "HAVE" to accept your sprites.

11- In case it isn't blatently obvious, we don't accept fan characters.
This does not mean we don't accept offical Megaman characters as if they'd been designed in another style (ie, taking a Classic Master and converting it to a navi), but we do not accept fan characters.
Period.

12- Inc reserves the right to do minor edits to your submissions to improve usefulness.
This includes correcting minor mistakes to the sprite, changing the colour pallette (usually reducing it) and reorganising the sheet.

Recommendations for the "Usefulness:"

- You might want to set aside special sprite effects that the character uses. (Have the character using them, but have the effects somewere on the sheet too.)

- The more poses a sprite has, the better.

- The better the sprite matches your intended style, the better it is.

- Putting the "parts" of the sprite can also help people make more poses. (Heads, arms, and so on.)

- Use a max of 16 colours if possible.

Ok, and that's it. Go ahead and start posting your PD sprites!

How the submission system works:

Each user should have their own thread. Me or Blackbelt will shortly get round to "judging" the submissions. Should the thread in general pass, it'll stay in this forum. (Good ones will get moved to the "Pending Upload" subforum.)
Like the Sprite Submission forum, once the sprites in a thread are uploaded, the thread will be locked, and should the user want to submit anymore sprites, they need to start a new thread.

Should sprites be judged to be unworthy or me or Blackbelt cannot see the value in a submission, it'll be moved to the custom sprites section, and you'll get our reasoning behind why.

If we feel it has potential, we'll leave it in the submission forum and give you pointers on what you can do to improve it!

Don't be discouraged! Work on the sprite some more and maybe we'll accept them at a later date!

Get posting folks.

Update:
After suddenly remembering how useful a non-Megaman character in a Megaman style would be for cameos in Sprite comics, i've updated the rules.
How-ever I've also updated the rulings ditacting on using Megaman sprites for bases for other characters.
Put simply - they must not resemble the base character!

Umm.. what about custom Double souls or crosses?
I suppose that's fine. However, it should look like you put some considerable effort into it.

True, stupid new members(though not all of them are stupid). Posting recolors and C&P's as custom characters

I remember reading EVERYTHING before joining.
I hate being yelled at "READ THE RULES YOU STUPID NOOB".
But this isn't the place to talk about that-this is the PD rules section. I'm thinking maybe you should lock this or something?

I am working on a sheet I plan to make PD, but I first want to be sure if its possible, because on this matter, the rules are just not giving enough info.

I am making the guy that is portrayed on the Bronze/Silver/GoldFist Battlechips, because besides that chip, he doesn't have any sprites. In the BBS's (the in-game ones), it is said that this guy was 'a legendary warrior'.

Now, the somewhat harder part, which makes he might not go in here. the chip only shows his upper-half, and his left arm. This means I have to design his right hand and lower-body myself. Will the sprite still have a chance of being accepted (providing it's good), or is the fact that he was only used in one game (Battle Network 2) good enough to drop it?

Sounds like a good idea actually Boilman.

As for legs.. design them yourself. His Righthand might be the same as his Left. (Unless its like Duo.)

Saw this a bit late. I actually thought his right would be a smaller, more versatile one, while still somewhat the same as the left. an example is in the sprites section if you don't know what I mean, and I am also working on something new, which I will reveal later.

I have a paticular project, first part, I am not sure how many colors it has, but I think it has more than 16? Mainly for the reason that I have a butt load of sprite characters on one sheet.

The second part I know has more than 16 colors. The thing is, Sprites Inc. in general has been a big source of sprite materials needed, and I really, really want to show these two sheets to the administrators and fans alike. Why you ask, I have heard of broken key boards from jaws dropping like bricks on them, mainly due to the spriting talent that I have been told I have.

When they say "16 colours" they mean as a sheet for a single character. You don't have to have 16 colours throughout (sp?) all the work you do, but if you plan on sheeting more than one character, make sure their sheets are separate so they know.

Why don't you start a thread showing them then? :P If they're acceptable, I'll let you know.
