Since we didn't have them, here they are now:

1) You must get your contest approved by a Sprites Inc. Moderator. (That's ACE_Spark, sovietcommando, Toxic Seahorse, Blackbeltdude, BluesSoul.EXE, Clownman, kingofanime, Terry von Feledae, and Zyros)

Do not PM the following Admins/Mods to get approval, for one reason or another:
Quickman - Hasn't been active on the boards since January 17th, 2007
BlueSonnet - Hasn't been active on the boards since March 28th, 2007
Barubary - Does not frequent the Creative Corner. At all.

2) You can only do one contest at a time.

3) If a mod already approved a contest for someone else, you can't get their approval for your contest until the first user's is done. You can ask another mod though.

4) When you PM a mod asking to have a contest, have this information ready:

- What the contest is about
- What style or bittage the entries are in
- How long the contest is going to last
- How you'll judge the entries

And that's basically it.

5) You don't need to have prizes in a contest. If you want your contest to have prizes, you're more then welcome to have them, but they are optional.

6) When your contest gets approved and you post the thread, a mod will sticky it at the top until the contest is done.

7) Don't use a contest as an excuse to get cameos or characters for your comic. If you want people to give you cameos for your comic, ask in your comic thread. (Same applies to your games).

And that's it. If you've got any questions go ahead and ask them, and they'll get answered... probably.

EDIT: I thought it might be a good idea to give some tips on contests:

1) Be organized from the beginning! Make sure you tell the members how long the contest lasts, what style to make the sprites in, how many entries they can have, and any additional rules you might have.

2) Explain to people how you're judging the sprites. This will help later when they ask why they got the score/placement they got.

3) If someone wants to dispute their score or placement in a contest, you can listen to them or ignore them. It's up to the judge(s). You are not obligated to change a score becasue some one is unhappy with it.

4) Sometimes having more then 1 judge can be a good thing. If it's a really large contest, that might get you a fairer score for the entries. On the flip side, if you aren't all on the same wave length, then Judge A might be done 2 weeks after Judge B is. Sometimes just one judge is good enough to get the job done.

5) The golden rule in a contest is to HAVE FUN. You should never enter a contest with hopes of actually winning 1st. You should enter because the contest sounds appealing to you, and you want to better your spriting skills.

6) Be a good sport. If you lose, don't throw a fit; it makes you look pathetic. You can congradulate the winner(s) and say you'll do better next time; that comes off much better. :)

Updated October 18th, 2007 to reflect certain changes that had happen since last update (new Mods mostly).

Why not just call this place BnG?

Hmm, maybe because we don't have a comic called Bob and George?

Really though, BnG has some good solid rules regaurding just about anything sprite related. From what I've seen, they're one of the best sprite forums, and the rules are part of that reason.

I've seen places that let sprite theft go because, "once those sprites are in a comic, it's part of that art." And to me, that was just stupid. Places like BnG for example, don't tolerate that. (In fact, most places don't thank goodness.)

I don't want this forum to have bad contests either, which is why we have these rules. We also don't have a cameo section, so some users use contests as an excuse to get more sprites in their comics. Either way, a contest has to be approved first.
