View Full Version : Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth
It's a historic day in gaming today, as Nintendo has just released Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth on the Wii Virtual Console in North America.
This is the first time this game has been available in North America. It's been called a masterpiece of the shooter genre and the best game never released outside of Japan, has been very popular among importers, and has been heavily requested ever since the Wii was released.
Oh, they also released Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels. But who cares? Sin and Punishment, man!

Is it the Japanese version or is it translated?
The cutscenes have the original English voice acting and Japanese subtitles. Other than that, all the text has been translated into English.
At first, I thought this was about Persona 2... >_>
But still, I'm glad they've decided to bring Japan-exclusive games over. Maybe we'll see Seiken Densetsu III (Secret of Mana 2)?

It's two dollars more than your typical N64 game, but I wonder if that's cause it's "imported." I'm interested in seeing what other games could come over...

I can bump this thread if I want to. :P
Anyhow, I downloaded S&P, and it's quite awesome. It's like what would happen if Starfox 64 and Gunstar Heros had a baby. It's fast, intense, and the screen is filled with enemies. (Trademark of Treasure's style).
The story is just plain weird though. I can't really fallow it. Apparently there's something about people turning into monsters, or something?
The 2 player mode is also completely weird. One player controls firing, and the other firing and movement... I wish that it was like how Gunstars' was.
But, I do hear they're making a sequel to the game for the DS, so here's hoping.
