Hello there kiddies! And I say kiddies becuase this is a PG topic that's family friendly. *Hugs parents*

Now, have you ever had a moment when snickered to yourself and all the other people around you raise a eyebrow and you stop, look at them and say: "...It's a game thing..." and they say "Oh..."?

That's right, this is the place to tell us about your experiences outside in the RL something or someone just happens to be like a video game you know.

Example: My Superintendant at my Highschool is named Dr. Wyllie (No kidding), no one knew I found that funny, but you all might.

Also, my eye doctor is named Kosek, pheonetically sounds like Dr. Cossack, or at least the way I pronouce Cossack.

Please gentlemen, share your stories with the rest of us, who knows, we might break a rib laughing ourselves!

Never, but me and my friends quote shit all the time (anime, cartoons, comedy, ancient cartoons, videogames).

Yeah, I saw this plummer kicking a turtle about once. It was amusing until the Police came in to take him away.

Considering I hang around with a bunch of "geeks" (including as sad as it is, one thats definately "furry". Fortunately though, any furry themed convos stopped after a convosation starting with my webcomic ending up going completely the wrong direction ended with me saying "Can't stand the fandom". Unfortunately he and his mate still reference the furry futaba board all the time, which fortunately passes over the heads of everyone else. .. yeah.. sorry.. off topic. For the record, he's also an insanely massive anime fan, probably watches pretty much everything that comes out of japan. Thankfully he isn't of the "VEGETAGOKUSSL583583" type.)

.. where was I? Oh, yeah, geeks.
Yeah, as stated, when you hang around with geeks - quotes and referenes come up all the time. Shame alot of them are to do with World of Warcraft which pass over MY head, but what-ever.
Most references usually have to do with pop culture.
"Stop... " "IN THE NAME OF LOVE!!!"

Yeah, that was off topic, but anyway - References in real life?

I usually end up "referencing" retro stuff by accident, sometimes unintentionally. Theres been times when ive "sang" the Vampire Killer tune from Castlevania while waking up stairs, and not realised it.
We have our own little meme with Mario's "WUAAAAAAAAAA!" scream from Smash Bros and Mario Kart, and altough not totally relevent to the topic in hand, the constant comparing of Real life to Roleplay games and World of Warcraft (the latter, which, as stated, fly over my head.), such as "He got a critical fumble there" when slipping down stairs or "He passed his search check" when finding something.

Yeah. Nerdy. But who cares, I AM a nerd/geek/normal-non-chavvy-person. :p

I'm serious about this right here:
I used to live real close to this lake. Well, one morning, my dad tried to pull his car out of the driveway, and there were turtles sunning themselves there or something. Well, when I saw him going outside with a broom, I asked him what he was doing, he said "Getting rid of the turtles", and I subconsciuosly started humming the mario theme.

The only games reference i can think of is when i was playing CS a few years back in a Lan game and someone called Baloo joined, and it wasn't just an alias the fat man was Baloo.

Stumped other than that.

One thing I found funny this year at the annual Anime Central convention that's held in the midwest was a Megaman/Star Wars reference. I was waling with a friend of mine who was dressed up as Darth Vader and there was a girl who was camped outside dressed as Iris from Megaman X4, well she was sleeping and laying there in line waiting for the doors to open. Well, my friend rushed over to her (In his vader outfit, mind you, he had that voice changer thing that made his voice sound really deep) and he picked her up and started going "Iris? Iris?! IRIS!!!!". Like Zero did in the cutscene while Iris dies in his arms. The girl got up and was freaked out, it was the funniest thing I ever saw/heard in my life.

Well, this makes the whole thing look like a complete lie, doesn't it?

If I could I would but for some reason I hang out with chemistry nerds instead of the pop culture and VG nerds we all love, so they wouldn't know what the hell I'm talking about if I suddenly say "Punch the keys for gods sake!". But I'm planning to say that sometime during my ICT classes.

Actually, I have said PTKFGS before.

I went to a Spymphony in Rosemont, IL near me called "Play! A Video Game Symphony." They played the music from Super Mario World for the SNES that has the infamous and improvised PTKFGS lyrics to it.

And for all the non-beleivers, here is a picture of the poster on my wall:

And if you still don't believe it, a link to the future places they are playing at:
http://play-symphony.com/ Check out Program link on the page, it shows all of the games they are playing, and if you want to know exactly what songs from the games, ask me, I have a program in my possession and I can tell you.

Yeah, when the Conductor at the Play! Symphony mentioned they were gonna do some tunes from World of Warcraft, someone, just someone, had to scream out "LEEROOOOOY JENKIIIINS!" They were compulsed to do it. None the less there was laughing for a good 30 seconds.
