Does anyone yet have any sprites or anything like sprites from these games? I'd love to get something at least like sprites from these games. My collection will be disappointingly incomplete without them.:(

Unfortunately for you, those games uses 3D models rather than sprites.

i thought powered up used sprites in its level editor... am i wrong?

I'm not sure (since I don't have Powered Up), but jgiannantoni05 was probably searching for the actual character "sprites" (which don't exist anyways).

yeah.. i know... but i didnt want everyone to just think that there was nothing to rip there and not try :P

The graphics are in 3-D, they're just on a 2-D plain. In that logic, it isn't too absurd to rip the backgrounds... we've got some 3-D stuff over at the BGHQ, but even then, it's usally a difficult process to rip and they're not always useful to have anyhow. It's more of, "hey cool, they've got 3-D stuff."

Yeah, using a 3D background in sprite comic that has 16 or 32 bit sprites would look weird, agreed?

Besides that though, ripping 3D stand-stills is a great idea. Obviously models have unlimited amounts of camera angles and positions that make it impossible to rip.

So stick with the God and Win and sprite with 2D stuff, it's good fo' ya.

I figured it was still impossible to rip these games.

But I'll take anything, like screenshots with the characters cut out, etc....anything that approximates a sprite.

But it would be awesome if someone would rip tiles from the Old Time and Oil Packs. They're pixelated, so they should be easy enough. The only problem would be to rip the background graphics of a finished Old Oil Stage.

It would be very time consuming to do that, as you would havew to manually by hand cut away the background.

I don't think you would be very satisfied with the grainy result anyway...

There is a way to take clear PSP screenshots, though.

This screenshot is in PNG format, and you can easliy rip the text from it without blurring.

If anyone can capture the level editor tiles (or at least a few of them), I COULD give a shot to ripping them.
That's an if. I don't own the game, nor any way to rip any of the 2d tiles from it.

X7 has a rippable sprite that I had a while back. I never bothered to submit it though, and I dont think I still have it. "Now Loading" was an actual 16c sprite. Fancy that.

The PC version has it as a seperate file by itself, if anyone has that you can get it. Then you'd have something to put in the X7 section :P

The characters ARE rippable. This is what I do not get. For example power up is 3D but it is still sideways, correct? So how is it so different? Even X7. You can rip the sideways parts. The only exception is command mission. But even that is possible if you get enough directions.

Fluttershy

No it is not. You don't understand the games do not use sprites it uses MODELS that are set to a side view. And MODELS are not rippable.

megajosh2

There are sprites that are still somewhat 2-D. Like this one. Ripping the side view of the model!! It may be slightly Anti-Alias but it isn't impossible!

Don't generalize that it'll look like that. I just can't cut sprites.

Wow....I've never seen so much failure in a single post...

Hmm true Riku.

megajosh - that's a screenshot'd model. Not a sprite. There is a difference.

Nobody in the world could use that "sprite" - these games are for the most part unrippable, so accept it.

Rakia

-_-
Just incase anyone's unclear- YOU CAN'T RIP 3-D MODELS! THEY'RE NOT SPRITES! It doesn't matter about the view! Saying it's side view doesn't matter. Then you're practically saying "Well the MMBN games aren't side-view, so you can't rip them".
Seriously, this is getting freakin' annoying.
Oh-and if they're JPGed, I don't consider them sprites sprites. Sorry, I'm a quality freak.

Actually, the models can be ripped and CONVERTED into sprites. It's just not easy, though, and typically said rips are terribly done. But it's not impossible.

megajosh2
30-07-06, 17:46
As I'm trying to say. And that's how I rip sprites. I take screenshots and cut it from that.

Xando

I have Powered Up for my PSP, it is not 3D, it is 2D, so if anyone could rip some characters from there I would be really grateful!

Fluttershy
30-07-06, 18:43
It is 3D. Because it uses models. They just set it to a side view so it LOOKS 2D. Okay!? I am sick and tired of people not understanding that MODELS CAN NOT BE RIPPED!!!!

Xando
30-07-06, 18:54
Okay, sheesh! I KNOW THAT MODELS CAN NOT BE RIPPED! I AM A RIPPER MYSELF! Look, I really don't yell that much on the web, only when people yell at me back, so please don't make me do it again. Sorry about that, okay. I didn't that they were models. So, how did you figure out that they were models?

Fluttershy
30-07-06, 19:02
Sorry about that. Honestly I can't remember hos I found out. Maybe someone else knows.

Xando
30-07-06, 19:03
If only I could get some good quality screenshots! Snap!

Rakia
30-07-06, 19:23
Um-it's OBVIOUS they're 3D -_-.
That's just like saying "did you know megaman was made by capcom?!" Yes, I like doing comparisons.
And Model HX-don't pull that crap with me. If their a fucking model, they can't be converted into a sprite.

Kairos
30-07-06, 19:24
*Sigh* I own MM:PU,Iyt is 3D,no 2D. I know, many people have tried to ripe them, and failed hoarribly. There 3D,I'm sure of it.

And Riaka,What Riku meant was:That people can make sprites BASED on the models.

Rakia
30-07-06, 20:06
Based? As in another style, but that character? Or use the screen shot and make a sprite out of it? THe second one is possible, I know I've done it. If that's what he ment, then sorry.

That is what i'm trying to say. You can cut a "side view of a model" from a sreenshot. You just need to be careful.

Rakia

What I was thinking was like what KOA did with the MMBN DS thing.

MADE OF FUCKING FAILURE!! Look! You CANNOT Rip a 3D Model and claim it to be a fucking sprite! End of discussion, Thread over!
