Its a make an 8-bit Robot Master contest. And there are 8 of them.
Rules:
1. They have to fit in with the MM1-6 seris style.
2. And also, if you can, make a semi-custom tileset if you can, or just tell me what tileset they should have.
3. Please make it a custom. If its an edit, you better make it look awesome and not look like the base otherwise you don't stand a chance.
4. No bloody recolors or badly done edits!
5. Its in 8-bit. As posted in the first line.
6. Try to think of a Megaman boss that hasn't been used before. (I'll say if it has or not)
7. This contest will go on till I decide that we have enough sprites to judge fairly.
8. You MAY post more then one robot master. Definently if they are great.
9. I'll need judges, but they can post robot masters, but they CANNOT pick their own.
10. I need some robot masters of these elements: Ice, Fire, Water, Earth, wind, military(explosive), and Electric. Just so you know and give you an idea of what I'm after.
11. Has to have a FULL sheet.
12. If you want too, you can suggest the music to his stage AS LONG as it is from MM 1-6.
13. If you can, please provide a MUGSHOT. Those are hard for me to do.

The top 8 will be in a Megaman Fangame I'm working on.
All particepents will be in the credits, as you contributed to the game.

yea. that brings the count up to 2 as soon as Rags.exe finishes his boss.
well heres my entry (100% scratch except for the beam attack)
Ectoman (Dark/Beam Type)
weakness=a time freeze or any ice attack
The first sequence is a teleport
The second is the attack he uses when ever he appears
He can float anywhere in the room like a ghost
Thats how I designed him. If you want more sprites let me know.
Dragoman, energy robot master
Two attacks, one rapid fire and one heavy blast. The sheet is quite confusing and I'll do some demo animations if you need it

Haha, well mine isn't all that great Mikado, and it's not that hard to do an 8-bit sheet that size(Well mine anyway). If you look at mine, the only thing besides the jumping one that really moves are the arms. Once you manage to do one pose it's not that hard.

Exactly. My sprite has the exact same torso/legs for each pose (except the jumping one). Only the arms are in motion.
Besides, since these sprites are for a game, there will still be a chance for you sprites to place.

This is my try at the contest. Demon-man....Fire/Dark type. It is probably my first scratch so....don't expect too much. His attacks are the fire toss, where he throws 1 (or multiple) fire balls atthe character. and his other ground attack, Demon swipe.

So far Sovietcommando has the most impressive sprites, they have the dimensions of a Robot Master from the Megaman series. I like his Mugshot too, very impressive.

Hey Sovietcommando, do you have some moves set aside for Magmaman?
If you wouldn't mind it would be awesome if you could describe some attacks that he does, one looks like his arm goes in the ground and shoots up Magma in front of the the player. That's a pretty cool move if you ask me for a custom sprite, AMIRITE?

Name: Magmaman.
Element type: Fire-based (Molten).
Weakness: Water-based attacks (Ice has little effect).
Reactor: Geothermal; heat perpetuated by the superheated environment he resides in (like a volcano or underground).
Abilities:
1) Can melt and reform (Rock --> Magma --> Rock)
2) Extremely resilient against plasma shots. Moderate resistence to fully charged shots.
Attacks:
1) Tephra Launcher: Similar to Gutsman's Super Arm, except Magmaman throws partally molten rocks formed from his hand.
2) Vulcan spray: Magmaman jabs the ground in front that forces magma upwards. Used mainly when Magmaman's target is nearby.
History: Dr. Wily created another Gutsman-type robotmaster but this version utilized a geothermal-type reactor. However, the magma that flow freely throughout the robot erupted out (notice how the head looks nothing like Gutsman). Magmaman, like his brother, Velocityman, was to be a new line of robotmaster, one that contains more than one element. Thus Magmaman has the ability to conjure fire as well as gain Gutsman's superior strength. In addition, Magmaman has the ability to melt any material (even Met Alloy, though it takes a while at full power). Magmaman was placed in a volcanic setting mainly because he needs it to regulate his temperature. Lowering his temperature solidifies the magma that flows in him, making him slow and more brittle.

You know what would be really cool is if in the game you were making you could combo-attack RM's, like for example: Magnaman can be cooled with a water-based attack, then when he is rock solid for a couple seconds, you could use a attack that is a power attack, like a explosive or a combat/karate attack to break him apart. It wouldn't be a instant kill, but I could see that making the game much more emersive.

Yea, the game is like a classic Megaman game, but with a few twists. That could be one of them.
Also, if you made a robot master for Ace's game contest thing, you can change him into 8-bit and submit him. I'll accept that.
I got one: Phaseman.

He moves by basically phasing and jumping. When he moves, he'll either jump and attach to the wall or land on the ground, or phase and when he comes back, wall or ground. After every jump or phase, he throws a couple of those X things, which basically move toward Megaman( they're shot in his basic direction, but don't seek him) . He pauses between each shot for a second or two.

the only chance to hit him is before he throws something, or when he is throwing.

I'm gonna edit phaseman some more. His face looks too much like flashman's etc.. all those things people said. But I'll get it eventually.
You should give Phaseman a mask! That'll earn ya some points! And a better attack!

I changed him a bit. I also gave him phase crash and phase kick. For phase crash, he'll dash forward a bit, then he'll stop and the wave keeps going. For phase kick, he'll jump down from the wall position and use a diagnol kick, then jump on to the opposite wall, and do the kick in the opposite direction. The kick works sorta like Deathanz mantisk's attack from rmz3, except with a kick.
Here's the pattern for the kick, in case you didn't understand. Sadly drawn, I know, but still.

He looks cool when he phases out. However, his face still looks funny, but doesn't look toomuch like Flash Man's anymore...
I purposely gave him a "rock-style" stare. Sorta as a bit of an intimidation technique. Course, 8-bit sprites are anything but menacing.
Oyh, and for his element, I'd say he's a wind type. I don't know why, but he is.

For Ecto Man, I'm thinking woods, mainly Wood Man's tileset, with a few extra things.
For Demon Man, A mansion or something. He reminds me of a imp or something that possess everyday objects. Don't ask.
And for Medic Man, a military base.
These are my ideas, so post what you think.
Phaseman's level could be some sort of abandoned laboratory.

My first Scratch Sprite eva! The whole sheet is Custom, even the Mugshot. The only thing on the sheet that isn't made by me is the Megaman Sprites and the Text! I know it's not the best and etc. But I tried!

Bio: Satelite Man is a Electric Type Robot Master, created for the purpose of powering computers and etc. He was created in a Satelite form so he could hide in Space without suspection.
2 questions, what is the thing at the top of the sheet and can you make it so that it doesn't look so much like Megaman?

1) Can transform into a tank to move.

1) Gattling arm: Fires a burst of gattling rounds at the target.

History: Ordinance Man is the equivalent of a one-man army. With enough firepower to level a well defended fortress, Ordinance Man can (and will) launch a wall of destructive power at his opponents. Ordinance appears invincible, but his Achilles' Heel lies in his own weapons. When firing his Gattling Cannons, Ordinance Man has to fire in bursts to avoid overheating. Any fire-based or electrical-based weapon could spark all of his weapons causing many internal explosives that significantly degrade his frame. His armor and an internal cooling system do provide the protection against the heat-flashes of plasma blasts before succumbing to the destabilization of his structural integrity.

Well, their both 8-bit if thats what you meant. But if you can create your own boss tune in whatever format that sounds like it would fit, go ahead and try to.
You should use Flashman's music in Phaseman's stage, King Reaper.
Phaseman has had me interested for a day or two now, the concept is awesome but the sprites helmet needs a little work.
I love his move's too, Phaseman is my first pick, with Magmaman as a possible tie.

The kick is like Phaseman's attack... which in retrospect has nothing to do with phasing at all...

Well, he is better with those attacks anyway.
True. The only atack that really fits him is his ability to phase around the stage... not even that X throw attack fits... Oh well.

I actually had this idea for a while now, but this gave me a reason to sprite it. It's name right now is Attack Orb, but I'm trying to find a more suitable name for him.

History: Original purpose was to respond quickly and effeciently to security breaches in a Top Secret Military base. After being deemed to costly, and unweildy, he was thrown out. With enough firepower to stop a tank sqaudron, and speeds in excess of 150 mph, makes this a force to be reckoned with. The only way to stop his onslaught is to slow him down. Any kind of ice based attack is usaully enough to stop him dead in his tracks.

well the sprite i made is an ice element if not you can use him as a differnt armor for megaman

I don't know much about unofficial sprites or RM names. If I accidentally said the name of one of your sprites that you've already made, I'm sorry people. But wouldn't it be all the better to make a 8-bit sprite of it and post it if that is the case?

Element: Stealth/Plasma
Weakness: electricity
History: This is the conglomeration of military power and knowledge on Earth. Equiped with the latest in stealth technology, the ability to teleport, and a 50 caliber plasma cannon attached to his right arm makes this an extremely powerful war machine. The only flaw he has is that heat from the plasma can sometimes overheat his core. A strong enough electric based attack is enough to disable his heat sheild.
P.S. I will update his sheet later. I gotta go get some Zs
He doesn't look MM style at all... and besides, we got Phaseman to do the teleporting.
Dead Eye it needs to be 8-BIT! just downgrade his style and get rid of the phasing and you're ok!

Actually it is 8-bit. The real problem is that he's twice the height of megaman (8-bit).
My suggestion, Dead Eye, is to use existing Megaman 1-6 sprites as a way to scale your sprites.

1) After-burner (while mobile): Velocity fires hs jets and tries to punch his targets. Standing behind him is not advised.

History: After many failed attempts with Quickman and Turboman, Dr. Wily turned to Jet engines. Surpassing the previous models, Velocityman tears across the field at blindng speeds, thanks to the many jet engines covering his body. At this velocity, a simple punch could deal heavy damage. In addition the jets themselves were weapons as they generated enough heat to disintegrate anything in it's range. Unfortunately for Velocityman his brakes are horrible, so he often crashes into things, namely walls, damaging his light frame. Noting this, Dr. Wily had Velocityman's fortress placed on the top of a tower, where no walls are present.

Sorry, I worded that kinda wrong. but you get the picture. I fixed CurrentMan up a bit, since traveling around on a bolt of lightning is kinda.. weird for an 8 bit game.

If he's a winner, its really up to you which version you use. I came up with some info about him while making this version.
Name: CurrentMan (like Electrical currents)
Type: Electric
Weakness: Explosives
History: CurrentMan was built shortly after ElecMan was destroyed as his substitute at the power plant. He was designed to be much faster and much more powerful than ElecMan, but on occasion, his power would short out the machines, sometimes causing explosions, which damaged his relatively weak armor. Since he was labeled as a hazard to everyone there, and wasnt very cost efficient, they put him into standby until someone could find a good use for him. Unfortunately, many moons and many robot masters passed before he was ever awakened again. However, the power plant was attacked by Dr. Wily, who stole him and improved his armor, basing him primarily on QuickMan and ElecMan's designs
For a suggestion on Currentman, you should make his torson slimmer and his legs closer together, and not have his arms trailing when he is running
I ment for him to look like that, fat and sorta dumb looking. it just adds to the comic value.

Reactor: An advanced Nuclear Fusion reactor, capable of high powered attacks at low energy costs.
Info:
1) Battle Pose: When he enters the room, the top row of sprites is shown in quick succession. The first frame is also his standing pose.
2) Running Speed: Compare to Yamatoman or Flashman (your choice, they are similar)
3) Laser Speed: When the laser is shot, it has already extended to the end of the screen. This makes it difficult to dodge.
4) You Got Photon Pulse: When Rock uses the weapon, it is shot for a split second and, like PMan, it extends to the end of the screen instantly. (even through walls.) Each shot uses 1 Click of ammo, and does decent damage. (make it pretty high.)
Attacks:
1) Photon Pulse: A quick laser that only lasts a split-second. Low damage, but very quick.
2) Lunatic Laser: Photonman shoves his arm into the ground to fire lasers from the ground at random. (fires 3 in a row. or instead of random laser locations, make it home in on Mega's location.)
Tileset:
Flashman's, but grey. And not slippery.

well, it will be substantially easier now that sliding is in the games.
i also breathed a sigh of relief when I played the "Best of Megaman", and found that the third wily stage is actually just quickman's stage. (the slide was in the game)

But no multi-angle.
I can dodge all of QuickMan's lasers without Time Stopper anyway, so death lasers never bother me :p

Lets see, you'll be able to shoot it 28 times with a full weapon energy bar when it uses 1 energy. Lets increase the 1 to 2. Then we have 14 shots. That is better. (makes it more harder. This is an example on how to balence something :D )
Anyway, if you guys could something of a bio for your RM, (like cutman.exe's and SC's) then my life gets easier by the second.
EDIT: Current Man looks better now, but I'll probaly not use him for the game. HINT: I'm using the MM1-6 sprites and such, so compare Megaman to your bosses. If they look like they belong together (not that way), then I may put them in.

Well, I'll make my own Robot Master. So the judging can now commence!!!!
Here is how it works:
The judges (Me, GameSaver, +CMS+, and Protoboy)
will each pick 8 robot masters for the section we will judge on (don't matter which, we can pick the same). Let me clarify what I mean. I'll judge for how well they would fit into a regular (1-6 style) game. Game Saver will judge for orginallity. +CMS+ and Protoboy will judge for best looking.(so if they both pick you for best looking, you win twice!) Simple right?
Well, the judge will list them in the order he/(she?) has picked. Any questions?

Ok, so for my catorgory, the winners are:
1. Magma Man (almost didn't place because he almost looked like he wouldn't fit, but he does)
2. Dragon Man and Medic Man (the style is a bit off, but once again, still fits and looks really good.) (a double win, as I forgot about Medic Man and he fits really nicely.)
3. Phase Man (Second because the head looks like Flash Man's, but barely)
4. Photon Man (got third because the head looks too much like Metal Man's)
