Still ugly, but still much more awesome.

Though, maybe if they just made it a 2.5-D game, I'd be satisfied, since it'd still be a side-scrolling Metroid game... just with 3-D models, like New Super Mario Brothers, except Metroid and better. :p

B. Where the heck does RE get their wepon names from? Chicago Typewriter............... >_>

Chicago Typewriter gets its name from a typewriters noise. Click click click XD.

The Killer 7 is from the game Killer 7 (LOL). It is Kaeda's weapon.

This is getting off topic though >.>

OFF TOPIC:

Actually, it's the ganster nickname for the Thompson sub-machine gun, which the gun is.

ON TOPIC:

A 3-d Super Metroid would be pretty cool if they kept the MP3 control scheme.

SpeedDEMONzap
08-10-07, 02:23
If they made a 3D Super Metroid, that would be nice, seeing as I never got to beat the original o.o. If they kept the MP3 controls and interface, that would make things a lot better. Still, there aren't that many buttons though, so we would not be able to get as many upgrades as, say, Metroid Prime 1 or 2 gave us.

Fuzion Phoenix
09-10-07, 13:13
Actulaly, We would be able to turn them on and off, like in Super Metroid.

Foozdude

*salivates*

I lurv that system soooo much. >_>

Seriously though, I loved Super Metroid, and the amount of "customizability" it offered, in terms of toggling almost any ability you gained.

Fuzion Phoenix

So f***ing cool!
The beams, however, need a lot of work on their looks.

I HATE DRYGON!
Not only is he ugly, he is a total pain in the arse.
(I go to a friends house to play SM on his Wii)

Fine. Here:

I just asked the Poster of these links if I could post here, and he said yes.
What is this "Meridian Advance" the quote speaks of? *Trying to download and listen to all the music* :3

Ryo Hazaki
12-10-07, 02:25
It's a program to extract the files. WinRAR works best, however, since it's compatible with every form of compression.

BTW: I'm working on bringing the Metroid 2 Suitless Samus ending sprites into full color.

turpinator
12-10-07, 02:27
 Oh, well then I guess I have no worries. *Has WinRAR*

EDIT: Gah! Now how do I bypass this "download-limit for free-users"? >_<

SpeedDEMONzap

My idea too. I wish you could just change beams again, not just mash them all together into the Nova beam like in Metroid Prime 3 D:.

Wait. (no, seriously. wait. or do what I do and patch into another wireless network.)
Yeah I noticed the "Wait certain amount of minutes" thing. How many downloads can you do before that kicks in?

Ryo Hazaki
12-10-07, 03:05
It's not the number of downloads, but the size. Around 100 megs is the limit.

turpinator
12-10-07, 03:09
Oh, ok. Still makes no sense though. >_>

Ryo Hazaki
12-10-07, 03:12
What can I say? I'm just wishing the person would provide another download choice, like MegaUpload.

turpinator
12-10-07, 03:16
It's called maybe somebody who already has it downloaded could maybe do that themselves to save people time? *Wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Ryo Hazaki
12-10-07, 03:19
Maybe, but MegaUpload has a 100mb File upload limit.

Besides, All I have right now is the Fusion and all the Prime soundtracks.

I wish I had the original Metroid Music, the one that plays at the very beginning of Metroid for the NES?

MP: Chozo made.

MP2: Luminoth made/the one Samus lost when she first visited Dark Aether= MP's one. (can't remember original scenario, I haven't played MP2 in a LOOOONG time) :P

MP3: GF Trooper standard issue, with different starter abilities.

For me, Super Metroid.

My theroys is that the ship that was Following her is the Delano 7, Sylux's Ship.

It's already been confirmed by many that that was Sylux's ship, no theories. But as to how or why it is not known.

Fuzion Phoenix
13-12-07, 13:40
Well if it's been confermed, what's a theory on why Sylux would follow her?

Ryo Hazaki

Okay, enough clowning. Maybe he was hired to assassinate her?

14-12-07, 03:40

Origionaly posted by Fuzion Phoenix: My theroys is that the ship that was Following her is the Delano 7, Sylux's Ship.

Wait, I though MMPH was placed (storyline-wise) between 1 and 2 and was killed (along with the other hunters) by Gorea at the end of the game. So how could it be Sylux, since... he's dead?

Fuzion Phoenix

He's not dead, none of them are, she just took their weapons from them.

Ah, thanks. I thought the thirty days had passed.

Does anyone know where I can get a screenshot of the MP3 Game Over screen that is shown if Samus is fully corrupted by Phazon?

Fuzion Phoenix
27-03-08, 18:41
No, but I can tell what happens.
When Samus dies from corruption, you see her morph into Dark Samus.

I don't know if this should go in this thread, but I guess help counts as discussion. >_>

Ok, so I bought MP3 in Japan. (Explains why I can't fricken read the manual)

I'm stuck in the thorn jungle area thing, where you need to ship-bomb the two shield generator things? I bombed the one in the fire area with no problem, but when I tried to bomb the thorn jungle one, I was told that I can bomb it until I deactivate the turrets, fair enough. So I went to destroy the turrets. I had to pull the thingie out of the bottom and shoot the fuel gels, I'm guessing, but in this process, somehow I keep on turning on hypermode on my own, and unable to vent out the phazon. No matter how much I press A, the bar is still full, and even if I release the charge attack, the bar fills up so fast that it's full again before I can release another charge attack. This lead me to 5 times continuous corrupting-game-over (the same goddamn thing happened 5 times in a row no matter what I do ._.) and I don't want to try again.

Someone tell me what is happening? I was able to vent out the phazon before, but somehow in this case, it refills so fast it's not even funny.

And someone explain how there are so many infinite pirate spawns?

May not help much, but it's something.

Clownman
27-05-08, 15:09
It was either you can jump over it (hard as hell) or roll through the gaps (harder), other than that you can go back and explore the other areas of Zebes to look for more Energy Tanks (I think you can have like 7 or 8 before Phantoon) and maybe a Reserve Tank or two.

Okay, I checked and if you're as adventurous as I am, by the time you reached the Wrecked Ship, you should have:
100 Missiles (not including the one set in the water room after the Keyhunters)
20 Super Missiles
35 Power Bombs
8 Energy Tanks
1 Reserve Tank
Charge, Spazer, Ice, and Wave Beams.
Any other necessary thing up to that point.

I think the 20 Super Missiles should be enough for Phantoon.

May not help much, but it's something.
Bad example, as the person fighting doesn't realize the fireballs are able to be destroyed for ammo and health. Best way to defeat him is just crouch in a corner while diagonally shooting her gun until he lowers his guard. Then you jump to his height and blast him with a missle. An alternate method would be to rapidly fire her gun while anticipating where he would open his eye so you could position yourself in advance and blast him. He can't damage you directly unless he materializes (same as opening his eye) so the only thing you really need to worry about is his fire.

Fuzion Phoenix

WHOO!
With that tip on Phantoon, I took him out and beat the game with a breeze!
Question Who was your favorite boss in the Entire metroid Seires?

Foozdude
29-05-08, 20:56
I would have to say, I prefer the Metroid Prime as a final boss in the Metroid Prime series, or the Ridley from Metroid: Zero Mission.

Ryo Hazaki
30-05-08, 01:10
Dark Samus in MP2, no question.
Second Favorite: SA-X.

That and the majority of the MP3 bosses, I thought they were all fun.

Well, I've never played MP3, so I wouldn't know.

turpinator
30-05-08, 01:28
You should try it, while the controls tire you out if you're not used to it, it is very intuitive.

Ryo Hazaki
30-05-08, 12:54
I doubt they'll tire me out *plays a lot of Wii Sport and RE: The Umbrella Chronicles on his freind's Wii*

Fuzion Phoenix

Meta/Omega/X/Classic Ridely.
In every game he's in.
Except Mech Ridley, He's too easy.

Ryo Hazaki
30-05-08, 14:05
Agreed. Mech Ridley was FAR too easy for a final boss.

The best way to judge a good final boss is how much hair it makes you pull out trying to beat it.

Dark samus in MP2 had me nearly bald by the time I beat it.

Fuzion Phoenix
30-05-08, 14:59
Heh, Mogenar had me bald By the time I beat him.

Ryo Hazaki

Metroid Trivia time!

What was the first SPOKEN (Actual voice, not text) Line in Metroid? And no, Samus' Death yells and hit noises don't count.

"The last Metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace."

Better trivia question: Who was that voice?

Ryo Hazaki
12-06-08, 15:11
What game was that from? Sounds like it came from 2.

Clownman
12-06-08, 16:03
It was from Super Metroid.............don't tell me you had another game in mind.

Ryo Hazaki
12-06-08, 17:51
Actually, I did... The cutscene in MP2 where Samus sees what happened to the GF soldiers, one of the soldiers shouted "I need backup!"

Fuzion Phoenix
12-06-08, 23:11
@Clownman: That would be Samus's shipboard computer.

12-06-08, 23:40
:D I'm a late Metroid fan... I hated the Metroid series, because of it's mazes and some other reason I forgot what it was.

Recently I played Metroid Prime, beat it 3 days later, now I am a fan

I used the Plasma Beam, it helped me defeat Ridley and Fry those Phazons! *goes out on shooting rampage* Why did the Metroid take my Phazon Suit...Why...*gets mad at losing a great color scheme* *grumbles*

I'll be sure to get other Metroid games (though getting MP2 would be pointless since my bro has it, and is coming back) Congrats to me being a new Fan of Metroid

This seems rather off topic of what you guys are talking about, but it's the Metroid thread

Better trivia question: Who was that voice?

Dan Owsen of Nintendo's Ask Dan column.
Here's one for you: What is the other game by Gunpei Yokoi had otherworldly flying jellyfish?

Forte
24-06-08, 16:28
I seem to recall flying jellyfish things in Kid Icarus.

I'm terrible at trivia, so here's an easy one: In Metroid Prime 3, leading up to every boss was reminiscent of what other location in Metroid?

On that subject, did anyone find the use of that SAME system for EVERY important boss somewhat repetitive and uncreative?

Clownman
24-06-08, 17:30
I haven't played 3 but if I had to venture a guess, it's either the glass tube (between the two parts of Brinstar) or the statue room (leading to the elevator to Tourian).

Fuzion Phoenix
24-06-08, 19:47
I think its the glass tubing.

Forte
25-06-08, 02:49
Maybe it was harder than I thought. It's almost exactly like the impact crater from Metroid Prime, though only really the first part. The music is also the same as the Phazon Mines, as well.

ScattMan
25-06-08, 20:51
That is Called the Corruption suit. Apparently Samus gets it after Dark Samus infects her and the other hunters with Phazon.

HAH! I killed it first Try.
Actually, that's not the corruption suit. After you're attacked, you start self-generating Phazon, with no Ill effects. Then you're equipped with a PED- Phazon Enhancement Device. It enables hyper mode, which turns your arm cannon into a phazon-firing beast.

ScattMan

And the PED Suit was made by the Galactic Federation, not the damn Space Pirates.

Easy question.

What was the very first upgrade Samus recieved? (NOTE: I'm also including the Manga in this, seeing as the Manga is established cannon.)

Isn't it the Morph Ball? Of course, I never read the Manga so....

Wish I knew, I never read the mangas. But in the very first 8-bit game it was the morph ball.

Clownman
16-07-08, 21:26
Since I never read the manga, this might be a trick question. So I'll say the Power Suit.

Thanatos-Zero
17-07-08, 01:36
Actually Samus very first powerup was the DNA of the Chozo, which makes her not only physical stronger and more agile, also it makes her possibly to live on Zebes, since the atmosphere is toxic for human beings.

Ryo Hazaki
17-07-08, 11:38
*bell rings*
Thanatos got it. Samus' first upgrade WAS her Chozo DNA. And really, the Manga isn't a bad read. It explains a lot about Samus' youth, and the second volume should shed some light on what happened to Adam Malkovich.

Oh yes...Adam Malkovich, the scientist which has sacrefied himself to do things right, also the person which was close to Samus.
Anyway, have you some pics of Volume 2? It would satisfy me and others as well.
As I have played Metroid: Zero Mission again, I`ve recognised the old bird grandpa of the manga.^^

Thanatos... You were doing so well. Adam Malkovice wasn't a scientist, but an officer in the GF military.

Unfortunately, I have yet to see any pics of Volume 2. I'm still looking around, though.

Thanatos-Zero
19-07-08, 23:34
Adam Malkovice wasn't a scientist, but an officer in the GF military.

Oh! Thanks! I wasnīt aware that Adam was in fact a officer. I have just supposed that he is a scientist, since I havenīt read in Metroid Fusion that he was the one or the other. I only know that he was a important person in the GF and for Samus. Thatīs all.

Actualy no.
Dark samus take on the form of Samus's armor because the Metroid prime (Who is actualy dark samus) stole Samus's Phazon suit.

Ryo Hazaki
13-08-08, 15:55
If you play Metroid Prime 2, you get to see inside the armor of Dark Samus in the final fight.

In other Metroid News, One Manga has finally uploaded the first part of the second volume of the Metroid Manga: Chapter 8: Scar.
