Installation problems

I'm having a bit of trouble installing DOOM. Whenever I try to set it up, the window just closes and nothing happens, it's in DOS if that has anything to do with it.

Have you tried running it from an MS-DOS prompt?

If you have Win XP as an OS, your best bet is to run DOSbox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1), a DOS emulator.

If you try to open a DOS program by just double-clicking on it, the window will just close immediately as soon as the program exits. If something's wrong, it should print an error message and exit, causing the window to close before you get a chance to read the error message.

If you run it from an MS-DOS prompt, the window will stay open and allow you to read the error message, which may give you some clue about what's wrong.
