A sequel to a fangame that some loved, others loathed, and most probably haven't heard of. This is the "side project" that's been made alongside Wily Stronghold. (More updates on that game soon!)

Storyline
It follows after the events of Sun God: Break the Targets, which followed after Megaman V (GB).
In the original game, Wily managed to recover Sun God and was attempting to reprogram him, how-ever Sun God's mind was able to use Wily's computer Network and destroy it, allowing him to escape. This WIP game is the escape, as Sun God tries to leave Earth, only to find that Wily has envenloped the Earth in a force field, making this impossible. (Makes no less Sense than Wily having a time machine.)
Having convinced his enemies, Dr Light and Dr Cossack, that Sun God is a threat to all, the player must now fight the combined forces of Light, Cossack AND Wily, while trying to take down the force field.
Thankfully, Sun God's inate abilities will help him in this quest.
"Mock Up" Screenshots -
Note, this is actually what the game will look like, this is to give you a general idea of how it players:
321
Sun God traverses the outside of Wily's Water-Logged castle.
320
Vs Knightman. Note the unusual room shape - boss arenas will have just as much to play in the fight as the bosses themselves!

Gameplay:
The game is divided in several areas, each area containing many Masters for you to fight. Like the first game, there will be "targets" for you to take out, each stage having different targets to unlock different exits.
Defeat of an master will aquire a "armour part", which can be equiped in any mix you want, how-ever complete armours worn will grant additional bonuses.

Q&A:
(This second post will be used to answer any questions people have, as well as questions that are going to be asked and answered here to save the posting):

What's this being made in?:
Multimedia Fusion.

Can I have/use those sprites?:
They'll get "released" into the public domain eventually, just wait.

Robot Master *insert name*'s details are all wrong!:
To be frank - I don't care. I just want them to look good/ XP

Can I play the original Sun God game?:
*EDIT* After taking a look back on the original, it was quite bad compared to what I do now. Instead i'll be "remaking" the original as a bonus to this game. Or something. :p

Who the hell is Sonicman and Kosumoman?!:
Sonicman is from Megaman, the PC game, and Kosumoman is from Rockman and Forte Wonderswan. As far as im concerned they're "offical" masters, therefore I'm willing to include them. :p

What does "Unknown Boss" mean?
Means you'll get this armour piece from a storyline battle. To avoid spoilers im not going to be putting what you fight here.

Very cool idea!!!!
Just so you know, there isn't an electric armor. You could change the speed base armor into an electric armor. Then change the weapon into an electric beam thingy and make that power up electric objects. Just an idea.
Ummm, the second-to-last FAQ, could you post the orignal here? Saves you the e-mails.
For the unkown bosses, are you going to make your own?

ACE_Spark
01-06-06, 19:58
Unknown bosses are non-Robot master fights. Basically, you get them from bosses OTHER than Robot Masters. I simply am not revealing how to avoid spoilers.
As for the electric armour - thats the Booster Armour, it just isn't called the Electric Armour.

I'm going to make some edits and then upload the original. Could take an hour or so.

Interesting. I like the idea that you get pieces of armor instead of just weapons.

This is going to be a fun game. I can predict the future :g-winky:
How long do you think this will take and how will it play? I mean, will it be metroid style or what?

ACE_Spark

The game will still have a stage select like Megaman, how-ever you'll select area rather than Master. You'll then beam down into a pre-defined area.
When a Master/Sub Boss gets defeated how-ever, it opens up a "Way-Gate" so to speak, so you can teleport back to that section of the area when-ever you want. (it'll also save when you defeat a Master/Subboss too.)

As for the original game, after taking another look at it, compared to what I do now, its quite unplayable. I'm going to remake the game using the new game's engine, and new graphics, altough level design and the singular boss will remain the same. How-ever, here is some screenshots of the original.
(Warning, bad graphics :p)

EDIT:
By the way, reuploaded the Hawk and Knight armours, the robot masters have now been converted.

Solarblade

So you pick the area you go to, but will the area be similar to
Metroid?

ACE_Spark

Yeah sort of.

You fought MJ in the original? I don't care how bad the game is, thats just too awesome.

Yeah I like the concept of different armours and all, so I'm guessing there going to have varried weakness (I hope the chaos armours does, since it seems slightly too over powered) and would it be possible to do armour mixes?

Anyway I like the concept of this game and it seems to be coming along nicely, got a predicted release date on the demo?

ACE_Spark
01-06-06, 21:58
Yeah, armour mixes is part of the game. ;p

Armours will have weaknesses to what-ever element it is.
As for over-powering, some of the armours will be quite hard to obtain, as defeating all the masters will not be the requirement to access the final stages.

Solarblade
01-06-06, 21:58
I think you can combine different parts of an armor set. That would implant a bit of strategy in the game. The only problem I see with the chaos armor is the complete set special thingy, it should do a good amount of damage to bosses, not do heavy damage.
EDIT: Oops, Ace beat me to replying.

ACE_Spark
01-06-06, 22:03
Ah, but the problem with the Chaos Armour special is that i'll be specifically programming the bosses to avoid it whereever possible. ;)

Solarblade
01-06-06, 22:05
Lol. That'll make it harder to use.
Hum, the title should be something that relates to the storyline, but I can't think of anything for the title.

I agree with King Reaper, I hope he will put Tomahawk man in it. It has my best wishes as it has Toadman and Shadowman in it.

Foot Piece: - Fire Foot - Obtained from ChargeMan- Allows you to walk on larva. Can only jump once.
Why would I need to walk on larva? :p
This game looks nice. Really nice. Do the hitpoints act like the hearts in zelda, where attacks vary from taking a quarter heart to a full heart, or is it a hit-per-hitpoint, where all attacks take away one hitpoint?

ACE_Spark
02-06-06, 19:27
Like Legend of Zelda, basically.

Solarblade
02-06-06, 19:56
That would make sense. Personally, I think the armors should give you armor, and you can collect heart contanir thingys to increase life.
But thats just the opinion of a fan. (you know, the thing that blows air?)
You know, Chargeman's foot thing should give you the ablity to dash over the lava and dash whenever you're on the ground. Just an idea.

Mikado
04-06-06, 14:26
Nonstop dashing would be pretty anoying...

PlasmaMan
04-06-06, 17:34
Mabye you could push the dash button to start dashing, and jump or push the dash button again to stop?

Solarblade

Well, duh on the dashing thing.
I was wondering, are you doing to put in a yellow devil?

Love the idea, the graphics are great and the story and system is pretty damn original. Btw, it's Toadman not Frogman :P, and that Gutsman, is that a custom or a rip from Willy Wars? Can't really tell.

EDIT: Your customs'(Sonicman and the other one) feet aren't shaped right, 8-bits have flat feet.

Gutsman is custom, while it could definately look better, its still an improvement to the Nes sprite.

As for the Toadman thing, ya know, I thought "toadman" but wrote "frogman". Weird.
KosumoMan is his wonderswan sprite recoloured and with a bigger head, and as for Sonicman.. these are really early sprites, so they won't be perfect.

Well, duh on the dashing thing.
I was wondering, are you doing to put in a yellow devil?
Out of all the megaman games ive done (Not that ive offically released many mind), a devil of some sort has been in the game. Except the original SG and ZBBR. (http://www.megaman-fangames.com/index.php?page=showgame&id=78), there was always some varient of a devil.

Wat does WIP mean?

ACE_Spark

"Work in Progress". When we actually get some finished games here I might consider seperating up the works in progress to the finished game sections.

Isn't calling him KosumoMan the same as calling Rockman Rokkuman and Hardman Hadoman, I'm -guessing- it's CosmoMan in English

You know what would be cool, Ultimate Armor! Nuff said. Nova Strike, 10 HP, High Jump, to name a few. Greatest armor ever.

ACE_Spark
08-06-06, 23:48
KosumoMan's more "English" name is actually "Dopplerman", how-ever his offical name IS still KosumoMan, therefore it stays :p

New "Mock Up Screenshot" - I basically I may do one of these for each the main game areas, seeing how I need to still assign Masters to revelvent areas. The backgrounds take a while to convert - this one was built up mostly from MM2 Wily Stage 1, Stoneman's stage and Shadowman's stage.

415
The Larva Caverns - Secondary entrance to "Knightman's Stage".

This screenshot shows off the other concepts a bit better - for one the mixed armour pieces. Also, that there are several entrances to each area, to the point where you effectively get across the area ala Metroid. How-ever the stage select/area select option would be quicker. Both are going to be used.

EDIT: Fixed image. Accidently cropped part of it.

When the engine's done, when all the sprites are done... etc... Actual screenshots will come along when the game's ready to be released as a demo, but rest assured, apart from a few scrolling differences - the game will pretty much look like that, only more.. lively?

Backgrounds are a combination of originals, recolours, heavy edits, and what-not.

UPDATE: Updated the rest of the armour images, now all the masters have been redesigned/recoloured.
I realise that the Chaos-Armour redesigns might be on the controversal side, but I figure that Wily, Light and Cossack would've taken the time to upgrade their 'bots for fighting Sun God. They also hold the most powerful armour in the game, (the one that'll be the hardest to obtain.)
So yeah. :p
