Well, this game's history is after MMX8 where Sigma has been supposely destroyed (again...).
In the beggining of the game, X suddenly appears at the MMX5's training area with no idea of how that can be. (In the game that base has been destryed long ago).
Well that's all the story I got so far, I lack of creativity...
I plan to bring Iris back here too...

This game is awesome! I think it's the best Mega Man fangame I've played. Keep up the fantastic work!
I´m missing the double foward for dash and the walking enemy freezes when touching spikes but I have actually only one thing to say: AWESOME MAN TOTTALY AWESOME, i though that is a True X game and sigma Tottaly ownd me :X

Good game. The engine really reminds me of the ol' X games.
There are, of course, still fixable things.
I found four little glitches... Nothing major.
1. Showoff:
What I did: Charge up fully, dash-jump to the right onto a higher platform, used the saber shortly before landing, then once I landed, released the normal attack button.
What happened: X suddenly showed off his ground-saber-swing-motion, without the saber graphics actually being shown. about halfway through the motion, he stops, waits for two seconds, and then continues.
I can't do that on command for some reason, it only happens when I don't need it. I'm trying to recreate the situation right now to get the screenshot.
2. Misplaced Saber:
What I did: I charged up fully, dash-jumped to the right, released the normal attack button and while X was waving his arm back, I used the Saber.
What happened: The saber actually appeared before X was doing his slashing motion, means they both didn't actually fit together.
This one actually only happened once or twice. Again, I can't seem to be able to recreate it, so no screenshot.
3. Almighty Sigma-wannabe:
While "Sigma" flashes(shortly before he disappears, not the flashing that he does when I hit him), I can't damage him, but he can still damage me if I bump into him.
4. The neverclosing window:
Almost everything I do, the window with the game just won't close. The little X-button up there won't even react, as does Escape, and Alt+F4 only makes it Fullscreen/Window-size. So I had to use the dreaded Ctrl+Alt+Del combo. Maybe you should make the window-thing on a different button, like F5.
5. Fast Saber:
If I use the saber on the ground, I can just press jump to stop the Saber and continue. Means the saber gets a LOT faster this way.
6. Evil wall:
For some reason, if I dash-wallclimb a wall to it's very top, a mysterious force pushes me away from it a few centimetres and I fall straight down, without any control over X. This can get a little incomfortable in the "Sigma"-fight, because I'm used to climb a wall and jump over Sigmas head when he does his dash-attack...
That's all, for now.
Well, besides a few tips:
1. Make "Sigma" weaker. He owned me, like, 5 times already. Intro-stage bosses are never that strong in MMX-games. The flashy background doesn't help either.
2. Make the buster more useful. Make it stronger, or faster, and shorten the charging time. I found myself only using the Saber at the end because the buster was pathetically weak, besides it's charged shots, which take forever to create.
I think buster is the best against that "SIGMA PHANTOM" but yeah he´s really too hard for an Intro boss (But still fun as hall)

As for the Window closing... I´m pressing Enter then Quit game thats all.....

Yeah. I know those bugs.... They're kind of hard to solve, but I'm on that now ;)

I just disabled exiting with the Esc key, when you do that in GM, the exit button is also disabled. I'll manually add another way of getting out of the game besides the intro and the pause screen.

I made Sigma strong because I was tired of the easyness of the MMX games. Come on... It's not that hard. Also, I like the flashy background ;) But ok. I'll make it a little easier. But just a little ;)
And the saber... The saber is as strong as a small shot. It just hits more than once. I'll make the charge shot slightly faster, but not stronger.
Oh, and when you clear the first stage, tell me the rank you got!
Don´t make him too easy... He´s fun as Hell.....

Your definition of "fun" scares me.
I've tried about ten times by now, but I still can't beat him...
Difficulty levels.
Some people want a challenge. Some people don't. This is the perfect solution for both and isn't even that hard to implement.
He isn´t really that hard..... Heat Gemblem is Hard but no this sigma phantom.....
When Sigma uses his Ground plasma balls just jump over them and keep shooting Sigma
When he´s using the scythe make a wall jump and jump over him
The lightning thing mk1 is easy
The lightning thing mk2 is much harder but not imposible

Are Axl and Zero gonna to be playable?

I kinda don't want to be Axl and Zero being playable.
Zero already has a whole series for himself, and Axl sucks anyway.
I kinda want to see pure X-action again. Like, you know, in X1.
For more strategy and such, you could add upgrades(those elemental chips are really cool, because they not only add elemental attributes, but also other things. The Virus-chip is very well thought out.
It would be cool if there would be a whole lot of things to search for. Many different armours(Which you can mix and match like in X8), upgrades for buster and saber(a triple-slash-upgrade for the saber would make Zero almost useless anyway), dozens of heart-tanks instead of only eight, lots of other stuff...
I finally beat Sigma, BTW. On my 13th try. With full health. Even if I died all the other 12 times without even getting him under a half of his HP. Got an F-rank. I already see: I suck at this game...

Awesome, reminds me of the old X game play!
But still, I've got to admit Nightmare Sigma is a little bit too hard for an intro boss. But in any cases, I love it!
Also- what the hell is Sigma saying before we fight o.o? seems like... nah nevermind, just tell me xP.
Ok let's clear some stuff up:
I plan to make Zero playable, but not taking a major role... Being able to play as Zero will be kind of a random chance, but I'm not revealing the idea ;)
As for Axl, I'd like to make it playable, as soon as I find enough sprites. I saw some very good ones at the PD section, but the running ones are missing, so no Axl at the moment.
For the upgrades, I'm planing to make a system where you combine the element chips with other abilities. There will be bosses that give out an element chip, and others that will give abilities like the ones in the clasic MMX games. When you combine them you'll get different effects.
Oh yeah, and what Sigma says is: "Hola, vengo a flotar". That is in spanish. It means "Hello, I came to float". That wasn't suppossed to be there :o. Since I released the game in another forum before, I wanted to add a joke for them, but I forgot to remove it from here. Hehe... The "help file" is somehow a joke too.
Hehe. My highest rank was Hero, but I only got it once having enables auto charge and rapid shot. Most of the time I get SA or GA now. There are a lot of different ranks in the game, though.
Just remembered! The dificulty levels will be added. I just feel a little lazy to do them now, but I will.
@DNZ.EXE: The links work fine for me... Make sure you download it by making a right click and selecting save as. The first link only works that way.
@childofthelemurs: How doesn't it work? Detail a little more so I can have an idea.
What ranks can you get? When i beated him the first time i´ve got a C rank and
the second time a A rank....is that good?
It's good, there are only 4 ranks above that, and they're kind of close in the "score" you need to reach them.

The only X5 bosses I plan to use are The skiver, Squid Adler and Mattrex, then I want custom ones, but I need spriters for that because my spriting abilities suck at a level you couldn't imagine XD

Does that answer your question? I didn't play this game yet, but I plan too the moment this game is out of his Beta stage.
I also am not too bright with MMX style, but I can help you making up ideas for Mavericks and such.

There's nothing major... I just fixed some bugs. Hopefully there shouldn't be any now. Also, the buster charges a little bit faster and Sigma's health was reduced a little.

Engine is great. Very accurate other than a few niggles which others have pointed out.
Didn't anything glitchy about it. Nice. =D
I have three issues with this game so far:
a) The level design is terrible.
There are WAY too many enemies.
They are placed in many bad areas (i.e edges of cliffs.) and some are even hidden behind the foreground. (There is one enemy that hits me regardless because its placed behind a foreground element)
And while the purple things would normally be easy to dodge, because of the overabundence of enemies - you loose track of the timing and get needlessly hit.
2) Sigma is WAY too strong for an intro boss.
It wouldn't be so bad, but he takes alot of health off you when you hit his body.
The attacks are easy enough to dodge, but the combinded randomness of his teleporting makes him stupidly difficult. I'm a seasoned Megaman X player. I found him hard and have yet to beat him. All because he hurts you when he teleports in. He hurts alot.
You basically get hit everytime you jump to dodge one of his attacks. Thats not fair on the player.
Perhapes Sigma himself should not hurt the player, only his attacks?
3) The default control scheme is completely and utterly horrible in every respect. In fact I spent a couple of game overs before I realised you could change the controls (cudos to that btw)
Perhapes you should let the players decide on controls as the game loads for the first time? It'd save confusion.
Minor Niggles:
1) The sabre frames use Megaman X's X6 pallette, which is different to his X4/X5 pallette. You may want to fix that.
2) The font's buggy. Often the words will be crumbled together.
3) Full screen.. could we have it windowed by default? I hate full screen..
4) Shouldn't the orbs Sigma produces.. drop out of his cloak or hand? At the moment they're behind him and it looks like they're coming out of his arse..
Positive Aspects:
1) Auto-Charge and Rapid Fire - THANK YOU! These were my favourite feature of X5 and Xtreme 2, making it far easier to dodge when you have one less button to press and hold down.
2) No style mixing! Someone with common sense!
Does this game feature game pad support? if not you should try programing it in. I have always hated trying to play games like this on a key bord.

Problems: Why Is The Space Bar The 'Reset Level' Button?! Did you even realise that the Jump and Fire buttons are unbelievibly close to it? It's as if it's more than a coincidence that alot of people accadentally hit it during mid game, reseting everything! I bet you planned this from the start, getting people frustrated while you sit atop your laboratory, laughing evily as a thunder storm brewed you evil evil man!
Oh, wait... I can change the controls? Sweet...
WAITAMINUTE! IT DOESN'T WORK! I can't change the controls! What am I supposed to do, press the Backspace button, and THEN press any key? I'll have to try that, and while I'm doing that, you'd better pray to whatever god you worship that that isn't the case, or you will live to regret it! [jk]
Full screen.. could we have it windowed by default? I hate full screen..
Try pressing CTRL+ALT+F4
It shrunk the window down to at least 300x300 pixels or less. And, no, it won't close the program down. That's only if you press ALT+F4.

The pause menu is strange. I can't open it at will, but sometimes it pops up without me doing it...
My guess is that the pause menu is called with the Escpape-button, but is extremely laggy...
I have to play the second half of it yet, since it's extremely slow right now, thatnks to various stuff running in the background.
Change buttons: Press Enter, then the button you want to change it to.
Oops! The spacebar thing was a "debug" button. I forgot to remove it...
The game doesn't have gamepad suport by now... I don't really have a gamepad to test when I make it, so it'll be a little hard to make, still I wil try my best. The window thingy... Next update I will make it windowed at first. I'll put it in the options, so the game can remember if you want to play it windowed or full screen ;)
And the pallete.... I didn't change it because I don't know how... I'm a complete n00b in the whole spriting stuff. Can anyone change it for me? I'll PM the sprites to anyone who wants to do it and will credit ;)
I wanted Sigma to be hard, but it looks like it's too hard... When I add the difficulty modes then this Sigma will be in the hard option.
The pause button is called with Enter and Escape. I don't know why it lags to open for you, since it works just fine in my SLOW computer XD I'll make the pause button customizable and will remove the annoying debug keys next time.

Okay, I tried it out on a much faster computer, and I'm surprised to say it's actually pretty decent. X actually moves alot faster on said computer unlike other Megaman X fangames I've played (http://www.actionflash.com/megaman_projectX.php).
Also, I got to Sigma, and he's difficult. Too difficult for an intro boss. He's at Level 3, which is what the average mavrick boss would be at late into the game, and on hard mode. Still, Sigma's a pretty good boss, but no intro boss.

@ Manual - alright, I'll make sure the next INC update includes corrected Megaman X frames. It'll also make weapon colours alot easier for you. (I assume you can do them in game.)
Sigma as a boss is fine, he just deals too much damage and takes too little.
There was also an ungodly amount of spikes in that demo :p

Nice game it's the best fan made Megaman X games I've seen so far. Keep up the great work. And if you need some one for art work let me know I can try my best to help out:)
