Yay, you got the Windman prog. I only got one sprite by accident. I also forgot to rip the ninja progs. I think Napalmman's walking sprites are different in BN5 than in 4.5. About the Plantman showing up twice, I beleive it was going to be fixed. Just like my EXE4.5 battlefield was shown twice slightly differently.

Were those all of them? I could have sworn there was another one. You have 4.5? That means you could rip the stuff I missed. I remember a long time ago, ACE was looking for Forte's encounter sprite. Keep up your sprite ripping.

Ugh, do you have a save for TP? The ones at GameFaqs don't work. Maybe it's the rom, I don't know? I need it for the sprite sheet of the ship computer.

also dont be suprised that if it doesnt work.. ive noticed that with EXE 5 only about 1 out of ever 8 or so GS saves actually work... i had to back up the data from my cart about 15 times before it actually saved once.. another i did it 20 and it still wasnt working.. is damn annoying

Raika from EXE 5, though he's also missing from EXE 4's section (or was before the site went down at least).. i'll check his 4 sprites later to see if there are differences.. same for Higs
sorry for the absoloute lack of sprite updates, but because of Inc's EXE pages being down i have no idea what is and what isnt needed still :P
i mean, i have all of the navi sheets that were up except for TomahawkMan (because his was already complete) and another one i cant remember, but thats about it.. dont know what else was needed or done so.. aside from a few minor navi sheet updates, until those pages are back you wont see much from me :z
oh.. also... before it went down i saw a lot of sheets from the 4.5 section's large PET screen set were missing, and i know they were all there before.. were the ones not up lost? or did they just get passed over accidentally?

I remember that on the old Sprites Inc, they had Raika, but it was lost. I don't know about the 4.5 thing.

these are the chips from the library in BN5DS... like i said elsewhere everything from teh bottom screen of the DS is apparently stored in a different and currently inaccessible format, so these were done pixel by pixel by eye.. hopefully you can consider them accurate enough to be a submission :P

Those are great. Unfortunatley, I don't think you'll find a walk thru walls code for BN1,2 or 3. Did you really rip that by eye? It seems simple enough to take a screenshot. The new Gen of battle chips. Think you could rip all of the chip images?
cant take a screenshot of a DS game :P
to be honest it was half by eye, and half using the normal BN5 ones, as some of te graphics are similar.. but i did a lot of searching over t pixels on teh screen to make sure i had everything lined up right.. and trust me when I say that pixel-counting on the DS screen is a headache ;P

I looked at the Cannon and it looked a little different. Does that mean that all of the chips got "color enhanced" or something? Sorry to ask the question again, but why not use Print Screen to get the image directly on the clipboard? I have no experience at this DS stuff so I may be wrong.
ah.. no.. actually thats straight from a GBA rom on VBA... I needed an example to help match things up right
now.. as to why i dont do that.. its because there isnt a DS emulator yet... so no one has any way to play the games on a computer, meaning anything you're gonna see of it is either tileripped or done by eye :P

Hey, isn't that my sprite rip? It looks exactly the same. Perhaphs I am that person. How did you get the heel navi to become split when in the credits, he becomes big? Is there a way to get rid of those effects? Also, if you finish the normal navi sheet, be sure to include the one of him facing down. I ripped it back in the old forums too.

which one looks like yours? id like to know just so i can say somethin about it :P
the split heel navi was actually on the sheet that was there before, which was only 5 sprites total, but the tile viewer in VBA shows the seperated parts well
for getting rid of the effects its actually rather easy.. the enlarged sprites are flat 200% increase of the normal sprite.. and the compressed ones are a flat 50% (from a 256 color image, so it doesnt get fuzzy).. i tested it out a lot :P
the Wily ones are actually 2 sheets that were already on Inc that i added the last few missing sprites to, one sheet for EXE 1 and one sheet for EXE 3 (which is why i said they were sheet updates :P)
and actually, i'm ripping from pretty much all of the EXE games in turn.. right now ive recently replayed EXE 1-3 which is where these are coming from, and i'll definitely be using the various saves i made to go back through them and try to fill out the rest of the sheets and such :)
for example, i'm trying to get the walking frames for Kid Gospel right now... hehe...

The ghost Navi I beleive was mine. So far looking good. There is still a great deal of sprites to be ripped from those games. If they make a walk through walls code for that game, then rejoice!
well i can tell you i ripped that one fresh because someone had asked for it on the old board, and i hadnt gotten the chance to post it before it went down.. of course he only has those six frames, so no matter how many times he's ripped they're all gonna end up looking pretty much the same :P

Could you tell me how Tile Layer Pro works? I tried to rip something but the colors didn't come out. I almost had the Block Button from Crossover Battle.
that would be where you hav to do things yourself... it obviously has several sample palettes, but if you dont have screenshots to do some color replacements youd have to play the actual game to get them (best-guess like i did for the ScM sprite palette and such)
now, if you get me the button i can do that much for you, i happen to have Boktai 2 as well... when i find several good games that link up somehow i usually go out of my way to get them :P
otherwise, once you have it all set up in teh arranger you have to takea screenshot and transfer it to a paint program and do te rest there.. which is why not many use em, it can be a lot of work :P

How am I supposed to color it myself? Also, when I transfer the tiles, it takes an extra part of the bottom and can't form one total sprite.
Since when did Dex face forward? I highly doubt there are any more missing sprites for Dex.
for the extra part thing, if you press + or - on the keyboard it moves the lines by one pixel.. so if you press the key 4 times it'll move the line up or down by one.. it doesnt make sense in explanation, but trying it out should help
coloring yourself would jsut be pasting it into a paint program like you would with a normal screenshot and either filling in the colors manually, or reducing the color depth then doing palette replacements
and dex, mayl, and yai all face that set of directions in EXE 1 for some reason.. never quite understood why
as an example if you started with this

if something has more than one frame, each additional frame in order will be offset by another 4, so 4 keypresses will line up the next one properly

Okay, but sometimes there is a problem with the placing of the tile that doesn't fit. I'll try putting something together.
you mean like say.. a walking frame for an animation that has hands that stick on at te sides, but dont line up properly, right?
that happens sometimes, and all you can do is either go with your best judgement or try to find a picture that shows it placed right

Well I managed to tile some stuff. Maybe you can help me color it.

this is where using screenshots of the game would come in
with those you can just grab the colors and fill them in where needed
with the small mugshot i used the large version of it off of Inc, cut the thing out into its on seperate image and reduced the color depth, then replaced the colors to match before putting it back into the main image
after this all that would be left would be reducing the color depth of thwhole image then reducing it by 50% carefully, as the arranger doubles te size of te sprites
so if you cut out themiddle grey section exactly and do that youd get

now then.. on the small greenish button you actually seem to have mixed up a few seperate ones.. those are the buttons from the in game menu, and you combined key items, link, and library somehow :P

Wow. That's great. I should look through the tiles more. The small mugshots are from the tournament option. About the Windman Prog, That is probably the last one for that mini game. Maybe you should rip maps. There is still plenty to do there.

The maps still have the objects in it. You should have removed them so the maps could be used by anybody at any place.

best map submission: completely layered
decent map submission: not layered, but with the OBJ-layer separated
so-so map submission: not layered and with the OBJ-layer on top
horrible map submission: any map with lots of MM's and/or with the (animated) background still behind it
horrible maps are (obviously) not submittable, and so-so maps rarely get submitted, that depends on the completeness of the sheet.
I'd say layer them all, but if you really don't want to they'll be uploaded until someone ripped better versions. ;)
i'll take off the objects but thats about it... ripping it all to its seperate layers might drive me insane :P
i'll see if i can stay sane enough to do it tho.. or if i even can..
Assuming you're using VBA:
Either use ctrl+1/2/3/4/5 to remove/add layers and screenshot, or use the map viewer.
The last method (map viewer) lets you make the sheet in about 5-10 mins if you have a walk-through-walls-code.
dont worry, i know the hows of doing it (and in fact i use the avi recording option so i know i dont miss anything rather than taking screenshots ;P), just dont know if i can keep myself interested long enough to do it :P

Avi recording? I rip it the old fashioned way by just taking multiple screenshots of different parts and put them together. Do what you like to get it. Everyone has their methods so do what you like.

The maps are better now. Jus remember to keep all Misc objects off to the side. You did a good job at that. But for the Misc objects, you should get its full frames and put them there, and not just one of them.

Wow. That is a lot of Mugshots. I didn't even know there were duplicates in the old ones. Btw, I was looking through the BN5DS tiles and found a Tactics Menu like the one from 4.5. Why is it in there? And I have failed in finding if there is an existing ElemPowr chip image. Plus, I found a strange half emotion window mugshot thing. If you know what it is, maybe you could color it.

The Toadman one is definately different from the emotion window. I don't know what it is but since you own the actual game, maybe you know.
Elem Powr is one of BN5's hacked chips. I looked through 4, 4.5 and 5's tiles and found no chip image. I mentioned that one specifically because it's the only one of the hacked chips that actually [I]did]/I] something. As for the Tactics menu, it was just something in the tiles. I have no idea why it is there so I did not rip it.
if you could give me some info into said chip i'll give it a look... like maybe a code to get the hacked one without the image? seeing the attack alone might help
as for the faces, my guess would be those are the face icons for the party battle system.. the ones on the top of your screen show the HP of te navi shadows following you

That ought to fill up some sections.:) Just so you know, Megaman actually has a black and white mugshot so that's missing. It can happen by losing a free tournament (vbalink). The heel navis don't need the sprite of them holding the bomb. It is easily re-put and takes up more room. I knew something was missing from the sections. Actually, the normal navi sheet isn't there and should be ripped. I remember ripping Hougan Mode on the old board. It was never uploaded.
i didnt know you could get it in 4 too, so i just left it on the 4.5 one i just edited in
i left the bombing sprites on te heel navi just because they were there before and i was too lazy to remove em

the frame on the left is used for this character on one of the map screens in the WS version of BCC exactly as that frame shows.. unfortunately it is so far as i can tell the ONLY PLACE in the entire series that specific frame appears, and it is improperly colored even in the tiles.. which is why i did what i did to the one of the right and did my best to recolor it to match the few other sprites of the Netopian girl.. which is why i was sure it couldnt be accepted... the original is inherently corrupted, and the edit is just that.. edited.. ugh.. but i figured id post it anyway, just in case someone is able to find the right one out there somewhere...
i did try my best to color it as it would be normally with the proper palette.. but alas.. i guess some things just weren't meant to be :\
sadly enough it also seems to be the only unique sprite of its kind to that game... i still have to make it to the last tournament map, but i doubt anything suprising will pop up there :\

Is it facing completely left? You still did a good job coloring it. I don't see anything wrong with it.
The Normal Navis is different in 4 than in BCC. That is why I pointed it out. Sometimes, just by looking at it, you can tell it is entirely different.
Hougan Mode was lost and never uploaded to today.
When do those mugshots glow? Why are some missing? Lazy?

the mugshots glow green when highlighted on both the character select screen and on the tournament ladder screen.. they flash the shades of red when two navis are "fighting" that arent controlled by you in a tournament
some dont have all of the frames because while what navis show up in each tourney are semi random, it seems certain ones show up a LOT more often than others.. the only time shadowman showed for example was when he was pitted against my navi, and therefore i didnt get the flashing red frames
and for the BN5 HeelNavis i mean the overworld frames... some of them were redrawn, and there are some new ones too :P

That looks accurate. You could have used teh US boxart as an example. The Greiga chip has already been ripped by Nigoli using the cheat. That is about as close it's going to get at the moment.

well its obviously Rock in a box-ish sprite with a dropshadow.. but still no idea where or what its use is
and i didnt use the boxart as an example for the chip because thats what i did with Greiga and it ended up not all too accurate, AND this time i had access to a scan of a picture of the chip in game.. which is way easier to cpy than to just guess colors :P

Check TUS (http://www.exe-undersq.com) for the other codes. Just hope you have better luck at trying to get the colors right. You have to change the numbers after the semi colon.

Damn! That's a lot of sprites. There are a lot of Miscellaneous sprites to characters. I noticed that on the Normal Navi sheet, you got the blank arm sprite. That is helpful for people who want add another chip effect. The Alpha Bug sprite may have been lost and I'm sure there are a lot of people with INC content that isn't there anymore.
It's okay if you don't know how to edit the color with the cheat. I never got it correct so I might go back and try it with your pallete.
yeah, i kinda figured someone might want to have the normal navi using like.. a YoYo chip or somethin.. lol... was kinda tempted to recolor the megabuster and tack it on to the bottom as well but i decided against it

That reminds me, in my BN6 Normla Navi sheet, I missed the frame you have there. I didn't know that there was a kneeling Heel Navi in 4.5. Which also reminds me, back when ACE was ripping Forte from 4.5, he said he was missing his encounter sprite. All characters get into that sprite by meeting up with Shademan in the Undernet.
The BatCannon chips images actually appear in the game via hacking. I think there was a way to do so. The colors are very correct now. I ripped the Bat Cannon chips from BN6 by using a "Booty Chips" cheat.

So you continue to tile rip, huh. I can't find anything in the tiles. That heel navi sprite may be part of a navi's specific storyline. If not, it's an unused sprite. Also, I just remembered that in BN4 in the Netopia Tournament, you play a soccer game with a normal navi. There are a lot of sprites to rip there. I would do that, but I don't have saves.

you need to just keep an eye out for stuff that looks like it could be sprites. dont go through all the random static expecting to find something amazing, just scan over it looking for areas that look flatter than the rest

VBALink works in the menu up until its supposed to connect to Boktai 2, and for some reason also loads the VS screen stuff on the waiting screen in the VBA tile viewer, including palettes
the only ones i really had to color were th block button (i colored it wrong before.. was playing a crossover battle today and realized that), and the Django and Shademan icons

for both games, first enable the wireless adapter
BN5 is obvious, it'll show up immediately once you hit the title screen (in fact the adapteder makes the title screen move faster than normal.. the long wait is adapter detection!)
Boktai takes a bit more.. first you have to play through the game for a bit.. through the first mini area and minidungeon, until you get back outside in the city, and save your game
next, go to the link screen and enter this code:
LRLRLLRRRRLL Select Start Select Start
and the crossover option should appear
from there, id suggest lettingBoktai start it first, as you have to wait for it anyway.. Boktai 2 talks to BN5, BN5 asks if you want to start a game with Boktai, Boktai asks if you're sure if you accept on 5.. then you're in (have to press A a few times in there)

Wait, so you recolored another Champy to get the normal one puching forward? Since you have that sheet, I might as well get the Rare colors for it sometime. And doesn't Rush face the upright direction when making a road? I'm sure that's missing.
if he does i couldnt get it to show with the character code which is what i was using.. not made it that far in the game cause im waiting so it isnt completely spoiled for me :P
as for the Champy one, I used ChampyEX for the base and recolored it yes, but because the sprites are all technically recolored anyway when the game calls for the palette, any sprite thats in the rom wether its used or not for the "base color" technically exists for it, albeit unused :P
plus, its easier to do that and let people recolor the whole sheet as they wish than making a sheet with 2+ seperate color sets

this icon appears in 4.5 when you have the Chip Gate plugged in.. i know cause i just got my copy of it in the mail... i was planning to recolor it from a tilerip, but luckily found that the tile viewer loads both it and its palette in all internet area screens automatically :P

Not a sprite post exactly, just something that should get spread around.
A list of sprites completely removed from BN6:
Chip images: Django, The Count, Double Beast, Faltzer, Greiga, GunDelSolEX, Otenko, BatCannon
Attack sprites (IE character sprites in-battle when a chip is used:
Django,The Count, Otenko, BatCannon
Overworld: Django, The Count, Otenko
Art NOT removed: All removed chip icons, Colonel/Protoman Navi icons, Beast Gate icons
I've not checked the character portraits yet, but im guessing Otenko, Django, and The Count are gone as well.
The Otenko and GunDelSolEX chips still work, but you can't see Otenko when you place him.... DoubleBeast works fully as well.... all other removed chips FREEZE YOUR GAME when used.
What this means is that without actually hacking the cartridge itself, NONE of what was removed can be reinserted. If you're wondering how I know I checked the tiles in the game and all of what I listed is completely gone.
All e-reader content seems to be removed as well, and im betting so is the data pertaining to the beast gate aside from the icons.
Please, anyone that reads this spread it to all megaman boards that are talking about the removed BN6 stuff (GameFaqs, Undersquare, etc.. I don't have accounts anywhere else).

Well that sucks. I thought it might be reinserted later but damn!!! Just because Boktai 3 wasn't released doesn't mean that it should be completely removed from the game. This pisses me off. And what do we get, nothing. Maybe except the hidden missions but that is all. Also SpinPink's location was changed.
More than isnt in there.. most of the programming and all of the art was forcibly ripped out so NO ONE could get it back without some major reprogramming.

Well this is sort of a complicated re-rip. Do you think you could re-rip Alpha? I noticed on the sheet that on several occasions, the core overlaps the arm. A more conveniant way to rip it would be in this order:
*overworld
*screw the pixeling frames, just get the armor by itself animating
*core's frames which include closed, open and attacks
*arms
*attacks
I'm sorry if it's too much to ask. It's just that I've noticed a major flaw in a serious sheet and it's far too difficult for me to re-rip.

for the moment, i'm working on making a full list of battle chip modding.. that is.. the real toy chips, not in-game ones :P

What's the difference in modding? Did you know that you can hack your real chips? You probably knew that and I have a link that explains that but it has roms so I can't show you. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

By connecting and disconnecting specific circuit lines on the chip itself you can change what chip it is, and so far i've got all of the Navi data chips, all of the Giga chips, and most of the Mega chips mapped out to be posted when its all finished. :P

I left out the "fading in" frames because not only would they be a pain to rerip (the original had its color depth decreased badly.. stupid dithering), I didn't know if they were really needed.
The only thing that's still missing from the sheet is the mini version of the data-hole from the Alpha chips.
I probably have a lot of stuff lined up wrong too... I mean looking at it you can't really notice, but I just have a bad feeling about it due to how complicated it was. :(

Well that's better. I didn't even notice a color loss. At least it's more complete. You couldn't even cut out a sprite in the old one. Now, it's more of a puzzle, but correct. Maybe the door on my Alpha area map should be in there as well. This new sprite sheet is easier to understand. Just tell me your results on the data chip stuff.

I realized I had made mistakes on a few I posted before so I redid them for here as well as finished up the rest.
Pretty much every navi pic actually stretched a few tiles off of the screen, so I made sure to get those as well. :P
I'll have a full rip of the Iceman minigame within the next few days to replace the removal of those images from his sheet.
Oh... and if anyone could properly finish Aquaman's waterspout, it would be appreciated. It was a bit too chaotic for me to handle.

What is wrong with his Aquaman's water spout? I knew someone would get to the full Navi pictures eventually. The only time I noticed was when I passed the game with Thunderman. Anyways, it's simpler to have the pieces that move and not have lots of copies of the same sprite. The gray shadow is unnesessary since it was supposed to be semi-transparent.
Yes, but the thing is in my images they ARE semi-transparent.. and an exact match for what it would be in-game, too. :P
As for Aquaman, what I mean is the stream going off to the left is cut off before it reaches down all of the way.

Why not pass the game with him? It should show the entire sprite with no problem. If not, then tough luck. Just guess. It looks fine to me. It should be symetricall.

Hey I noticed some errors on SI. If you check Metalman's EXE4 sheet, you will notice multiple white errors and his sword animation is incomplete. Searchman's EXE4 sword sprites are also messed up. It would be appreciated if you fixed these typical mistakes.

The bottom ones have white errors. I checked an Metalman's eyes were black and many other spots that should have been white. Just check those will you.

Any chance on the Protoman sheet now? Good rip. I didn't even realize the sword is the same as the buster.
Just have to arrange the sheet itself. Also, it won't be 100% complete, as I couldn't get to 3 sprites in the game to get the proper positioning for their shadows.

Cool. I like the new one better than the old one. Maybe you should have the shield separate. At what point in the game does he warp like that?
The one with the shield is built in the tiles with it attached, so no chance of that. :P
One of the teleport frames and the blocking frame should appear in the same place if I remember right, and thats when Cloudman swoops in and attacks Medi at the end of End Area... .uh.. whatever the last one is..
Other teleport frame I have no idea on, as I never found it for the Colonel sheet either (if a Colonel one exists that is... i still need to check).

Oh. I just need a confirmation on this. How many colors do ProtoSoul and NumberSoul have in BN4 and 5? I've seen that some are 3 and some are 4. If that is so, that means that the Chaos Unisions recolors are useless. A full sheet of this would have to be ripped.
And speaking of ProtoSoul, do you have any idea as to why I found it in the Gregar tiles?
You found Proto SOUL in the Greiga tiles?! Talk about finding interesting unused stuff. o_O
My best guess to that would be further guessing that they built EXE6 directly off of EXE5, as it was the same engine and did use a lot of the same or similar sprites.
Still, is Protosoul complete in there or what?
Anyway, i'll check Number and Proto souls in 4/5 for you. It could be possible that 4 has a different number of colors than 5, but we'll see.
And also, I must admit i'm a bit lost as to what you mean by 3 or 4 colors, so if you could give a bit of clarification...?

I've checked out the sprites and in both versions they are almost identical, the only difference being the color for Protosoul's face and fins is lighter in 5.
Also, I don't see Protosoul in the Greiga tiles.. :\
Unless you did mean Gregar... which would be odd to add back in....

Just above those Protosoul sprites is a set of Megaman ones.. OLD style Megaman ones, from 5.. but this... gives me a thought..
What if.. the version of the game we got wasn't actually the final version with stuff cut out of it... what if instead, they had taken a pre-release version of the game.. where the main game had been finished and they had just started working on the post-game finals and extras, to not have to actually physically remove as much. A version where some stuff from its original build off of BN5 was still present (these sprites), and had all of the game maps and most of the rest finished (like Crossover battle, and most of the Link Navi stuff), which was sifted through and parts that weren't needed were cut.. it would explain why a lot of things just aren't there... and why others feel like they're unfinished versions.
Lets see.. two maps gone.. Crossover battle menus work but not battles.. Django and Count chips just plain dont work.. Otenko works but has his art removed, same with GDS-EX... Double Beast is working but Greiga and Faltzer arent, as is the Crossover PA... the Link Navis work aside from Protoman whos charge attack freezes the game.. all of the in-game area maps are MIA.. and now sprite hangovers from EXE5? It all kinda adds up...
Anyway yeah.. jsut a thought and a theory.. but maybe? I'd rather have other opinions too. :P

I'll try to tile rip Proto Soul, but it's corrupt in some parts. I could have sworn there was a color difference. I recolored using 4, but I saw 3. No I'm confused. It's a little different, so that's worth all.

But thats just it.. are you finding it in the (J) versions or the (U) versions? Cause I sure couldn't find any of it in either (J) one, just the (U)'s.

They're in both versions of the US. It seems exactly the same.
About the colors, I think it was Number Soul that gained a color in BN5. That one would need a re-rip.
I don't remember if I matched that up or not.. i'll go back and check.
So... you can't find the stuff in the (J) versions of the 6'es either? Just want to make sure i'm not randomly missing them.

The only other interesting thing I found in the tiles is the words, "StratChange". probably something from the BLG. It has somehing to do with Plan B, a changing in moves for the opponent.
StratChange is almost CERTAINLY related to the beast Gate, and I still have no clue about that Plan-B :P
And as for Sparkman's op, I wish someone had said something sooner.. lol... to be honest I deleted the recordings I had saved up because they totaled about 20 gigs (!).. unfortunately I HAD him in there.. hopefully I saved my savestate to him and can get back to him easily. :)

I did these a few weeks ago when I decided to TRY to go through BN4 again, before I gave up and said you could go ahead and do it cause you liked it. I don't really even remember why I never posted them, but that could have been the reason. ANYWAY, yeah. I've actually had fixes for him done for a while now.. XD
